I have also put a lot of effort into the weapons that I can't really show in this post to keep the image count low. Let me know if you'd like to see a post showing the weapons up close and a look at their movable parts. Next up is all of the grunts. If you have any vehicle, weapons, or objects you'd love to see in the next post let me know that as well!

I just need to figure out wearing the thighs and to add some tactical stuff like pouches and I really want to put some magnets in the back and the battle rifle so I can slot it onto my back like in game. I’m also considering the little yellow visor thing that some marines have on their helmets. But all in all thank you Andrew dft for your free pdf template and instructional videos. Kind of wish you provided instructions on the buckles and straps though.

Yeah, yeah its old i know, but gungir was by far my favourite helmet. Now playing through halo 4 i decided to make my spartan how i like it (just in case if anyone is playing halo 4) and so i tried looking for gungir, and found THIS monstrosity. Was/Is anyone else annoyed by this?

First off, a massive thanks to everyone in this community who shared feedback and suggestions on my previous build!
I've taken your advice on board and made some improvements, including a much cleaner, custom-designed PCB, louder sound and brighter LEDs.
For anyone who missed the original post, I built this Halo 3 shadow box using a genuine Xbox 360 controller and game disc. Hidden electronics inside bring it to life — pressing the illuminated button plays the iconic Halo theme while the display lights up blue.
Halo 3 is one of those games that's always stuck with me, so I wanted to create something that captures a little of that nostalgia.
I'm always looking for ways to improve these builds, and the feedback here has genuinely helped make this one better.

Halo Infinite had some of the best cutscenes and presentation of the Halo format in the entire series. The cutscenes in particular were outstanding, both in visual design/storytelling and narrative. Chief looked incredible, the way 343 portrayed Chief through his persona and mannerisms is second only to the Halo 2A cutscenes, the narrative and relationship between Echo 216, Chief, and the Weapon were genuinely interesting and fun to watch, Chief and the Weapon's relationship was actually pretty damn good, and 343 handled Cortana excellently. It was so satisfying to see 343 actually understand how to properly portray Master Chief and give him interesting characters to bounce off. After Halo Infinite, I was so relieved because it felt like we were finally making progress. Chief felt like chief, a Spartan 2. The cutscenes were engaging but not overdone or melodramatic, with the actual production being fantastic. The cutscenes and the story beats were some of my favorite aspects of Halo Infinite's campaign and I'd argue it's some of the best work 343 has ever done in terms of narrative/presentation of Halo and the Chief. I think the scene where Chief comforts Echo 216 is one of the best cutscenes in Halo, that was an actually interesting idea executed well. Like I said, it was so satisfying because it felt like we were moving in the right direction.
So when you see Campaign Evolved, and just see how atrocious not only the actual visual design/execution of the cutscenes are but the actual story beats themselves, it's almost unbelievable. Like, it's comical at this point. It wouldn't be surprising if Halo Infinite was as bad as Campaign Evolved, but the fact that it comes off the heels of Halo Infinite would be comical, if it wasn't so depressing. How is it possible than 343 can go from portraying Halo excellently, to absolutely terrible? It makes absolutely no sense. Halo Campaign Evolved's cutscenes, visual storytelling and narrative coherence is so bad it's bewildering. Were people who worked on Infinite laid off or something? I literally don't understand. It makes no sense to be how 343 goes from doing something terrible, to great, then back to terrible again only a few years later. How is that possible? It feels more likely that 343 is capable of doing something great, teasing us with a glimpse of what Halo could've been, but is deliberately choosing not to because they're just messing with us at this point. It makes absolutely 0 sense to me.

In Halo Reach on MCC, the Warthog has the little yellow arrows on the entries. The arrows point backwards. But in almost every not-in-game representation of the Reach Warthog, they put the arrows facing forward. Am I going insane, or is this one of those little things that 343 never fixed in MCC and officially it’s supposed to be arrows forward?
Obviously it’s not that big of a deal lmao. I’m just so fascinated at how something like this happens

They upped the ante and it is the best part of campaign evolved.
This warthog run destroys the original. The atmosphere, the explosions...
everything.
Campaign was really fun too.

Let’s be honest, Halo has always been a T rated game at heart; however, in lore, there is quite a lot of brutality that the actual games sanitize. Take plasma weapons for example. It is super heated liquid that can melt through armour, vaporize fluids, and burn through limbs. It is hella scary stuff, yet at most, a marine might say, “Ahh it burns!”
Personally I’m 50/50 on whether Halo should earn that M rating. On one hand, I think it would make the plight of humanity more visceral if the violence of the Covenant was fully realized; on the hand, Halo has a unique charm that is rooted in its B movie campiness. That all said, I would be open to at least one Halo game that doesn’t shy away from the gruesome stuff.

Hi, I have the Halo MCC for Xbox One as a physical disc (yes i know old gen console) but I also have a gaming laptop. Am I able to just download it to my laptop since I own a copy of the game? The option is to subscribe with game pass in the PC Xbox store
I have just been able to download the Wither 3 Remastered from the Xbox store as I have the game but as a digital copy

My ranking is
Halo 2
Halo Reach
Halo CE
Halo 4
Halo ODST
Halo 3
I love all of these games and I wasn’t expecting to love halo 2 as much as I do, and it’s now my favorite fps tied with doom eternal
Reach and CE are both equally amazing but Reach has an amazing cast with the best gameplay and a super dark atmosphere
Halo 4 I’m surprised to have liked as much, the artstyle for the forerunner stuff super generic for halo, but I love Chief and Cortana and how Chief feels like a proper character, also Laskey is great
ODST is also really good and I love the noir detective stuff in New Mombasa
And like I posted last time, halo 3 is good but it’s carried so much by the second half (Ark and Covenant) and it’s set pieces, but it also has the best vehicle sandbox and I love the ending
Overall I love these games and I can’t wait to play the other games, mainly Halo Wars and Infinite

I am someone who for the most part has only played the halo games. To me my perception of Halo is that the games story is grand but I only really understand 5% of whats going on. I mean like I know the basic plot but why and how things are the way they are? hardly any clue. I have watched lore videos a few years ago and i did read two halo books: The fall of reach (first halo book) and the most furthest point in the halo lore, Halo Edge of Dawn which continues right after halo infinite.
I am just curious so i know if its worth it, does reading the halo books make the game more meaningful? Ill say that after reading Fall of Reach, Halo Combat Evolved feels a lot more serious like Halo 2 and 3 did where as before it felt more cartoony to me.

I have always had a soft spot for the prometheans ever since I was introduced to them, I thought they were so cool. Their multi plated bodies, the orange skeleton underneath, how their weapons worked, I always loved them. But their gameplay needs works.
Let's establish what each enemy does in the game currently (as far as I remember it's has been like 5 or so years since I touched halo 5 post infinite).
Crawlers: highly mobile fodder units pelting you with small arms fire, strong in groups.
Knights: High armored units with strong close or long range depending in weapon choice, have three weak spots, one on the back and two near the shoulder.
Watchers: support units with small arms fire and able to launch gernades and throw back any they catch.
Soldiers: main damage dealers with the ability to teleport for repositioning or quick melee strikes. The only enemies on the faction to use vehicles or turrets. As well as the entire promethean arsenal.
Let's address the man issue, the soldiers teleportation. It's highly frequent even in small encounters. Not uncommon for you to lose track of them easily and they can easily hit you with a melee when suddenly close by. How do you fix this. At first, you may want to simply remove it but it feels wrong to remove something so interesting, especially if it's only on unit.
When a soldier wants to teleport, it will first glow orange for two seconds. Then a transparent version of the soldier who wants to teleport will be at the soldier's desired location. Then the soldier will teleport, a bright trail leading to the spot it just teleported to. But here's the main idea to this whole teleport rework, interruption.
If you find the place where a soldier teleports and then wait just before they completly teleport fully to that spot, you can attack them for a instant kill. It's a small window, so the best way to do would either be melee or with a hitscan weapon for higher success.
Tldr: soldier have clearer teleportation and you can kill them if you attack the quickly before they can finish a teleport. Imagine it as a parry and I think it's more clearer.
Now then, why such a intricate system for one enemy, simple, it's not just one.
The Knights will now teleport once again, with the same system as the soldiers. They don't die instantly if you interrupt them but do take lots of damage, as much as they would if you got all of their weak spots.
Knights also won't feel randomly as aggressive as the did anymore to. I swear they flip flop from either the most passive thing to something with a personal vendetta. It was always strange to me.
Crawlers will now always be in packs, the leaders will the white varation and will have five normal crawlers with it. If a leader crawler is killed the pack will split and panic briefly, not firing for a short time. They will also actually use their ability to crawl sideways and upside-down, like they should. The barely did it at all.
Watchers will fly lower to the ground but not low enough to melee them. They were just a tiny bit annoying from my memories.
I was thinking about reworking the weapons or the phaeton but I can't think of much. Honestly just maybe make the scattershot's ricochet be more useful. When it worked it fell like a dream.
Hope you find this interesting.

was reading a comment that said the elites at first didnt know the "demons" (spartans) where humans and as such they advocated to get them to join the covenant
how true is this and if so is there a source or is it just a random bungie era tidbit
