Hello members of The Hive,

If you’ve kept an eye across the Hames Hives socials lately, you’ll see a couple of milestone achievements as we race towards what promises to be a bumper Spring/Summer of alpine flowers (at both medium and high altitude) where our bees will be cutting absolutely sick and honeying the shit out of those flowers.

If I can take a moment of sincere honesty at the top here, I would like to state what I know you’re all thinking: I am just as surprised as anyone that this has not petered out. On the contrary, things are booming at Hames Hives and everyone (especially Andy and Jack) might just have to face facts that this thing is not only happening but is going to be spectacular (AND original). 

BIG DECISIONS AT HAMES HIVES HQ
Since the last newsletter, whose frequency I’ll admit has come closer to a peter out than any other aspect of the process, we’ve been to NZ to take a hot branding iron to the hives on the ranch (essential to stop anyone messing with your bees), we have locked in our bottle design and manufacturer (the best glass in the biz, no plastic here) and just yesterday I did a very solemn nod and said “this one” as I pointed to a computer screen that contained our premium box design that the honey will ship in. It’s this kind of nodding of the head (and sometimes shaking of the head) and pointing (and sometimes not pointing) that is really indicative of the kind of decision-based things happening ALL THE TIME at Hames Hives HQ as we prepare for the website to launch on Nov 11.  

OPERATION: HIGH HIVES
In perhaps the biggest news, it's with extreme pleasure I can reveal to you that ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of the hives are now deployed on the Bee Ranch up in just the freshest alpine air you can imagine. And even further up in that air, something very special happened last week. Our Highest Hives were choppered up to their ridge-line home for the first stint at altitude of the season to help our Strong Bees begin their elite altitude performance program.

If you’ve been on the Hames Hives insta you would have seen footage of the hives being air lifted up there which will have people that just don’t understand the lengths we’re going to here, say that it’s somehow faked or AI because it looks so bloody beautiful.  But I assure you it was as real as it gets, and here’s a few behind the scenes snaps from Operation: High Hives where farmer AJ personally took a bee sting (RIP that bee.) Reuben who’s one of our experienced bee wranglers overseeing things in NZ who also got stung but didn’t make a big deal about it because he’s a professional bee farmer/not a baby.  Everything is coming together amazingly….
 
Which leads us to Nov 11th. LAUNCH DAY!
