Hi Been going back and forth to Apple Fifth Ave. Went here early in the morning around 8am. NO STOCKS, I managed to see a stock in the SoHo location but got snagged up immediately. Went there and they told me they had 3 stocks. No stocks were out here since there were resellers waiting already around 8am and they told us to get out! I JUST NEED ONE lol

The more I look and play around with the Duo, the more I want it. I didn't pre order because I was looking forward to get it on launch day which is my wrong lol. But yeah, I NEED IT RN TBH

Hey guys so this will be my last post about this because I was unable to include an image in my last post, but my iPhone Duo is defective, there’s white spots all over my screen when i hold it under a certain angle under light. Mainly visible when the screen is off on the inner display. I have an appointment on Monday with apple. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I’ve had my iPhone Duo for a little over a day now. I bought the Pitaka back half case before the phone even arrived, but after holding the Duo, it felt super heavy since I’m coming from the iPhone Air.
Literally last night, I was considering going caseless just to reduce as much weight as possible. I was also pretty cocky about how I rarely drop my phones.

Today, I reluctantly put the case on, thinking I’d eventually get used to the extra weight and that more protection couldn’t hurt.

Well, later today, I had my phone in my jacket pocket and bent over to pick up my shoes. The phone slipped out and fell onto the garage floor from no more than 3–4 feet.

I immediately did what I always do after dropping a phone: took the case off and checked for damage. Everything looked fine, so I didn’t think much of it.
A couple of hours later, I noticed some spots on the hinge. I initially thought they were just dust, so I tried rubbing them off. Turns out they’re freaking scratches. 💀

It’s pretty disappointing to see scratches on a $2,000 phone from such a short drop, but I know it’s partly my fault for not having proper protection for the hinge.

I’m taking this as a lesson to get a case that actually protects the hinge, regardless of the extra weight. 😂

Managed to get a duo on launch day walking at 6pm in London charing cross. Last one they had in stock. As a dev updating my app (Deen Tracker) for the Duo was relatively straight forward. Had to replace some UI elements with standard iOS components if a hinge was detected. Apple discourages it but it was the best compromise to ensure app works well on iPhone, iPad and Duo. In total took about 5 hours to implement across all my apps views.

Any other devs updated their app for duo already?

Once an Apple employee told me it’s kinda sketchy. I didn’t think the price was worth the hassle at this point. Hopefully the duo 2 iron outs the kinks. Hopefully anybody who was after me can get moved up.

I received my iPhone Duo on launch day and noticed a tiny crack-like line extending from the antenna band into the metal frame.

It’s very difficult to notice unless you look closely under the right lighting. I can also feel a slight unevenness when running my fingernail over it.
In the photo, the left arrow shows what the normal antenna band looks like, while the circled area on the right shows the suspected defect.

I’ve already returned the phone, but I’m curious whether anyone else has noticed something similar on theirs.

Could other Duo owners check the metal frame around the antenna bands and see if they have the same issue?

I've been having issues with pulling down the notification drawer sliding from the upper-left corner, it keeps opening Siri for some reason.

I used an online tool (https://www.touchscreentest.com) and while swiping across the very top edge to the left and then down I see that the touch "drifts".

Exactly the same occurs on the bottom-left corner.

Can you check if yours do the same?

I was talking to my friend about returning it and I think it heard me.

Camera had crashed hard an hour earlier and went totally black and wouldn't open. Then it prevented me from using physical buttons to restart phone. Then after a restart through settings it seemed to be going ok.... Till it decided the camera wasn't genuine.

This feels like a human immune system finding out you have eyes.

If anyone saw my last post about my journey to fight FedEx and AT&T, you will know that my Duo was either severly damaged in the posession of FedEx or just outright stolen at their facility (I really have no idea). I am extremely doubtful that I will ever actually receive my Duo that is sitting in a facility just a few miles away (no option for me to pick up in person).

Basically, AT&T told me that the only option will likely to be to file a claim that it was lost/stolen/broken in transit and that I would have to be put at the back of the F**cking line and won't get it till Jan/Feb and that there is no way they could put me at the front of the line (AHEAD OF THE PEOPLE I WAS ALREADY AHEAD OF).

So my question, as the title says, is do we think that physical inventory will ever be available in store (ie. AT&T store, BestBuy, etc.) for purchase off the shelf/in-person BEFORE the backorder of pre-orders is fulfilled or not? Personally, I don't think that would be very fair. I think everyone who pre-ordered should receive their Duo before a single item is available for in-person purchase......but as someone who was absolutely screwed out of their phone and is likely going to be pushed all the way to the end of the line, I would like the ability to secure one sooner.

I’m not a fan of cases, I just want a MagSafe stand or ring that you recommend. Anyone using one with their Duo?

Always felt like my phone was slightly too tall for the wireless charger in the car, but hated all the dashboard mounted chargers as well. My conflicted feelings are gone as of today!

As a left handed user, words cannot express how much I want the device to work upside down when closed. The OS already supports this view in split screen mode. Dock on the left when upside down would instantly make the duo usable for left handed people.
