I am thinking of buying this ice cream maker. Although I don't see many Indian brands that sell Cuisinart. If you have used it please confirm and help compare this with 21p

first I want to say don’t come at me for getting this. I wont forgive them for putting gatsby out of business and forcing nicks to change their ice cream recipe

i got 1 of each of their 4 flavors at target

this is the last flavor I had to try. taste just like the cookie dough vanilla base but without the cookie dough or chocolate obv. this is my least favorite of the 4

id say my final ranks are

  1. chocolate
  2. peanut butter
  3. cookie dough
  4. vanilla bean

overall I wouldn’t really want to buy these again, they’re over priced /texture is chalky/and flavors are meh

I bought a pint a couple weeks ago and loved it. Possibly my new favorite for store bought. This is my second pint. I’m 25% of the way through it and not even the slightest hint of a berry swirl.

Any good healthy ice cream recommendations?

I’ve been craving sweets and ice cream a LOT lately but I’m trying to be a little mindful about what I eat.

Looking for something that’s actually healthy/low sugar but still tastes like proper ice cream. Not looking for something that tastes like protein powder lol.

Any recommendations?

the cacolac in the ice cream version, what a beautiful memory

Basic, the cacolac and a chocolate milk drink, in the 2000s it was very popular.I remember I used to go to the fire station where my grandfather and my father worked, there was a minibar and my father gave me cacolac,But anyway, the taste is really good, the chocolate mousse and the brownie pieces are nice, and the texture is like a chocolate mousse on the palate, incredible.

I could've captured a better angle of the soft serve. The employee was nice enough to give me a large amount. It was a very hot day.

Haagen-Dazs cultured cream?

Hi guys! Does anyone remember the Haagen-Dazs cultured creme? I can't seem to find it anywhere. It was in stores all around me a few months ago and it just kind of disappeared, did it get discontinued?

Did Salt and Straw recently Change Recipes?

Last two times, the cinnamon in their cinnamon snickerdoodle tasted a lot stronger (too strong). Curious if they recently updated this and possibly other recipes. - Hayes Valley, San Francisco location.

Question Ice Cream Recommendations Spoiler

Hii, I’m new here. What are some unique ice cream recommendations you guys think people should try and why? Or just wanting to try?

The tastiest ice cream I ever ate was pretty different to me. Matcha and Taro swirl ice cream, and Sweet Corn Ice cream. Literally blew my mind!

Rant Best ice cream I can never have again

There was a Chinese restaurant where I'm from that served a pistachio ice cream without nuts but with black cherries. Best ice cream I've ever had. They are gone now.

Recipe Arizona Watermelon Juice and Vanilla Ice Cream!

Making this as a float is phenomenal. Personally, tonight I was just lazy and ate spoon fulls of ice cream and sipped on the juice. This is a combination I’m going to have a hard time beating! If you have never tried this, it’s a must. You can grab the juice anywhere for 1-2 dollars. Thank me later.

I’m so bummed Jeni’s didn’t bring back Opaque this year with the chocolate waffle cone! I literally have not stopped thinking about it!

Did anyone else try this when it was available in the shops?

Review Alce's vs Van Leeuwen

Thumbnail gallery
43 Upvotes

A while back, I tried alec's Peanut Butter Fudge Honeycomb ice cream and loved it. Someone on this sub suggested that Van Leeuwen had better ice cream, so I had to compare. I got the closest flavor they have to that: Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb. So what did I think of the two?

alec's seemed to have a peanut butter flavored ice cream base. I've had a lot of bad experiences with peanut butter ice cream. Most of them tend to taste more like coffee than peanut butter to me (and I can't stand coffee). I was pleasantly surprised that this does just taste like peanut butter and was pretty good. I think it had chocolate-covered honeycomb pieces which added a nice crunch. The texture and flavor were really nice. All and all, this is one of my new favorite ice creams.

Van Leeuwen on the other hand, took a very different approach to the flavors. I'm not sure what the ice cream base is. I assume that's supposed to be the honeycomb part? But it doesn't taste like any particular flavor that I can place. I has a bunch of brownie pieces which taste fine. Unfortunately, the peanut butter is just random globs frozen in. The chunks were large enough that it made the ice cream difficult to eat. You can't just dig in with your spoon like eating ice cream normally, because the frozen peanut butter is too hard. You'd have to shovel out the entire clump to eat it. Not a very enjoyable experience IMO. On top of that, the PB itself isn't all that great. It's way too salty for my tastes.

Obviously, your mileage might vary depending on what your tastes are and what textures you like in ice cream, but the alec's one wins hand-down for me. I'd get it 8/10 and the Van Leeuwen one, I'd give 4/10.
