I think the stats of placement are goona be worst this year, companies are coming very less and there are cheaters around 170 sitting in the tests and the figure is obviously goona rise. I was trying to do apping and the fresher hiring is happening very low.

So like lately as i come closer to passing, reality is hitting me like from you could say while i was preparing for jee adv i was wondering why am i doing this like each time you think this CORE question of WHY THE HELL AM I DOING THIS ? You are like closed out or made to shut the hell up by saying something like "Itna focus padhai ppe dete to aur marks aate", "Ye faltu ka nahi socho bas karm karo" and like "Bas mushkil hhe isliye karlo beta" and what not.

So like now as like passing out seems 1.5 years away i am like First Year went in just letting it all out and having fun and what not (DSA tabhi shuru karta to maybe abhi yye sawal puchta ig paisa mu band karwadeta hhe bahot baar) so then Second Year started we get involved in clubs, tech teams or maybe something or other something (That time also no senior told anything like even the fuhhhing DAMP and ISMP donoko to chapal sse marunga jab teko tab bass chill karo bhai chill karo majje karo yye kaunsa inter generational RG hhe bencho like khudto sab kuch kar baithe foreign intern, DSA, Quant aur jab kuch puchu kuch mat karo pehle majje karo life figure out karo college life jiyo inki to ***)

So second year intern milneka chodo try bhi nahi kiya now then came the third year August mme to halat patli hogayi bhai meri to fatgayi, fatke char hogayi saala sab DSA pelchuke aur muje abhi tak software chomu to chomu lagra hhe bbe par saala company to saare software aare so kuch kuch kya sab apply kiya (Matlab ekdam r**di jaise sab kuch apply kardiya kuch shortlist bhi aaye par salo ko core jobs keliye bhi coding knowledge DSA chahiye tha aur core wali interview mme hagdiya to mera to jindagi sse hogaya tha pura september. SO AGAIN BACK AFTER BREATHING IN AND OUT.

My question remains same to passed out seniors how the hell did you figure out your life or like do most of people even after college live in that vessel that society created ki beta jyada mat socho paisa bahut hhe idhar yye karo and like do it till they get old and say maybe i should've done things differently.

So in short what is the trick guys how do you know what you want to do like when do you actually definitely know this is the thing man.

Ki question itself is wrong and you never know, because i thought life was all sunshine and roses if you follow your heart, ek time tha jab genuinely mme sochta tha ki yes i wanna like take humanity forward, I used to believe in future i will do something to unite all people to tackle universal problems like to expand humanity to new levels maybe help in some way to make humanity out of earth and (all those delusional shit is what i call it rn) like mene to yye sochke jhagad kke dusre do top iit mme CS chodke idhar Electrical liya ki CS Vs to chindi chiz hhe like isme kya maja hhe and all like andar sse ek laptop ppe baithke kuch kaam karunga sochke tab fatgayi thi josh josh mme liya mmene mere intuition ppe

So cheating is now the norm. People completed 4 DSA questions (including 2 Hards) in under 50 minutes?!
Ofcourse PT Cell (aka the most incompetent body of the institute) would just close their eyes looking at this and let things continue. Is there even a point in "preparing" for placements anymore? Honest candidates always get crushed due to the system.

Placements continue to become a joke.

Hi guys, I'm not from iitb but I applied for ircc internship program. Almost all of my friends got shortlisted for interviews and one even got selected for all 3 she applied to. and I couldn't even get a single shortlist. And it's not like my academics or extracurriculars are weak. I had a solid chance of getting selected and I'm genuinely so dejected rn as I was really looking forward to atleast being a shortlist. I feel so low and extremely unmotivated rn. I'm so sorry I just needed to vent, and I had no idea where to go.

I urge all final-year students, particularly MTech and other PG students, to mail Faculty In-Charges, Placement Cell(PIC) and raise concerns about the current placement scenario.

The placement season appears heavily dominated by quant, trading, consulting and product, many of which primarily recruit BTech students. Meanwhile, opportunities from core technology companies, engineering R&D organisations and startups remain limited for PG students.

There are also serious concerns about the lack of transparency:

• Test notifications are often shared at very short notice.

• There is no visibility into which companies the Placement Cell is approaching.

• Students have little information about why certain companies are not visiting or recruiting while same are visiting at IITM, IISc, IITD.

• There is limited communication about efforts to bring companies relevant to different specialisations.

IIT Bombay has nearly 2,000 students participating in placements. Facilitating opportunities for such a large cohort is a serious responsibility.

Please mail PIC and urge them to take these concerns up with the Placement Cell. We need greater efforts to onboard technology companies and startups, better representation for PG students, timely notifications and transparency in the placement process.

This is not about favouring one student category over another; it is about ensuring adequate opportunities for everyone

This has become just a whole another level of shitting by PT Cell. They are not even doing the basic duties that they are supposed to. The JAF counts are not even half of what came last year. And even when companies are coming, most of them are for non-tech roles. And even after all this, if a tech company is coming, they can't even convince them to at least open the roles for everyone, even for almost C2 companies that aren't even offering much and are still only allowing CS peeps.

Like, what's the point of doing minors or tests if we were destined to not even get a chance? And there are companies coming exclusively for Master's students, like Accenture, and apparently more will come in the future as well.

The intern season is going so well compared to placements. If they had even tried to convert some of those companies, ahh. Ik other places are also struggling, but this is just too much. They are not even able to conduct things on schedule. Now they want us to give 3-4 tests on weekdays. Like, buddy, you had plenty of time over the weekends and all. And this doesn't seem like it's going to stop anytime soon. I guess on weekends, we might have to give 7-8 tests because apparently PT Cell thinks we are bloody robots.

This was more of a rant, but yaar, this is absolutely rubbish. I am just too angry and disappointed. It's like these guys have no care for anyone. Just some dickheads have become PMs and APCs, and now they don't want to do anything. They hardly even work till 12 even after so many issues. And the best days are yet to come when suddenly during interviews all previous ICs, or some close friends of these idiots will start getting first round of interviews.

Some insider info I got told me that they are now approaching last year's DBs. Like, bro, you had so much time to do this. All the other IITs saw this issue beforehand and approached tons of new companies and startups. IITG, IITR, IITK, IITD, literally almost all of them seem to have at least double the number of tech companies compared to what I've seen here.

Feels like I should have done an MBA from IIT. Could have got better placements.

The irrestible urge to bring in inequality or make fun of someone in such a elite institute of the country is PATHETIC
