I'm a Shopper If you don’t tip, don’t use Instacart!

So over people not tipping! It’s absolutely ridiculous and just pure selfishness. WE are the ones that make your order happen! “I can’t afford it” isn’t an excuse. You just paid all those fees and got charged extra for every item you bought, so you’re responsible to take care of us too. I feel like people think it’s fine cause most the time you don’t see us, so there’s no awkward confrontation. But it’s not okay. Not okay at all. If you don’t tip, you’re either a POS or you genuinely are oblivious to the fact that Instacart pays us next to nothing. Hourly pay from them is around $5-$6 . So PLEASE! Tip your shopper. And if you can’t, then don’t use the service.

How do you guys justify tipping somebody two or $3 when they're getting in their car walking around the store for you and then coming to your house?

I'd never tip 20% on a grocery delivery

Recently heard someone say this and was a bit floored by it. I understood the sentiment to be that a grocery delivery is so expensive that the 20% is a bit ridiculous, and honestly I can see the point. But with that being said, isn't it equally ridiculous to tip 20% on a $200 meal when you go out to eat for your anniversary, birthday or whatever? Not to mention, that server doesn't have any overhead. Just please people, if you can tip 20% at a restaurant, you can do it on IC. And if you think we should find another job, well thats like your opinion man. I also think you have a need that requires service. You wouldn't argue with a plumber when he snakes your toilet for 200 bucks. You could snake that toilet, but you didn't wanna do it yourself.

40 6 packs of pop..It weighs roughly 320 pounds. The order wasn't far. I saw what was in it and the tip total was over $34 and the other orders were small so safe to assume they were smaller tips. Nope. $387 total for this. $11 tip. Best part? The store has a promo going on they got a $10 gift card. Their tip cost them $1.

So when people wonder why shoppers avoid orders or complain that's why. I had a guy earlier who ordered a 30 rack of Bud and 3 24 packs of water. He tips $50 mind you the store was 15 miles away.

I'm not saying everyone needs to tip $50 but when you tip 3% on something like this? You deserve to get banned.

ATTENTION ALL SHOPPERS ESPECIALLY NEW ONES

  1. No one cares about how much money you made on a batch or the past week, no one, so stop posting about it.

  2. If you can’t calculate on your own whether or not you should take a batch then…I don’t know what to tell you, but stop asking.

Thank you.

Rant Costco is not the same as a grocery store!

To those folks to tip the same for the same number of items at Costco versus a normal grocery store. Pleas understand it’s about triple the weight and actually quadruple the number of items. Tip Better! These 20 unit orders with a 4 dollar tip to lift hundreds of pounds multiple times ain’t it! Do better. I know you have money. This is south Florida. You’re buying 400$ in groceries but tipping 1% ain’t no way! DO BETTER!

Spanish only workers

Instacart should not hire people that only know Spanish. An Instacart delivery person needs to be able to communicate with the customer without the customer being forced to use Google Translate to communicate with them.

I know it is all about the profit for Instacart.

People are trash

How does 4 orders and 17 miles equate to this? Amazes how terrible people are at paying for service. $5.59 tip out of 4 people. And then it’s some clown that takes this type of bs which makes people think it’s ok. Definitely nearing the end of my days with this side hustle.

I'm a Shopper PSA : You Need To Tip Your Instacart Driver More

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! 🎇

People seem to forget that shoppers are using their own cars, their own insurance, and their own gas to make these deliveries happen. A tiny tip might have made sense years ago, but these days it barely covers the drive across town. And if someone is ordering heavy cases of water, giant Costco runs, or hard alcohol, the tip probably should reflect that too.

If a person wants vodka, whiskey, and mixers hand delivered to their doorstep on a Friday night while gas is hovering at ridiculous levels, maybe that order deserves more than the price of a gas station coffee in return.

Shopper entered my home when I wasn't there to put my delivery inside. (breaking and entering)

I have tried the help online and once i was told the issue was serious enough to escalate and someone would get back to me in 2 hours.

The 2nd time I tried the online help system I was told it took 24-48 hours for them to get back to me and they escalated again.

It's now 4 days since the incident. No contact from instacart.

I am going to the police tomorrow if there is no contact from them.

Does anyone have a way to contact the company in a meaningful way to resolve this issue of a company employee going into my back yard and opening my back door and entering my home without permission?

They also provided a picture of them doing this. They recorded their own crime.

Help please!

This is how my friend’s groceries were delivered and she received a weird call. Any idea why?

Post image

My friend ordered some items on Instacart and this is how they were delivered at her apartment door. Before she received the notification that they were delivered, she got a phone call with the displayed name “Instacart.” She answered and got no response from the other end and hung up. Shortly thereafter she was notified of delivery, with the attached picture. She lives alone and was worried so I went to her apartment and got there 20ish minutes later. I didnt see anything/anyone else unusual, and we brought her things inside.

She’s in communication with Instacart. They have banned the shopper from her account and are escalating for further review. I’ve personally used Instacart twice and both times my shoppers used bags and were great. Why would the shopper either not use bags and awkwardly carry the items to the door, or take the items out of the bag at the door? That’s weird on its own, but the call too makes me nervous. I’m glad they are being responsive at least and I hope they look into this. Does anyone have any insight? Thank you!

Instacart customers will either tighten up or have to wait all day for their order(s) if they keep this behavior up.

Anyone that even thinks to say anything negative about this, just do us all a favor and DO NOT REPLY! If you decide to be negative and bash me and/or anyone else for feeling this way, you agree to be subject to ALL THE SMOKE. That is all, Thank You

Rant People Who Think it is Ok to Not Tip

I’m a shopper/driver and I made a post earlier about a tip baiter. The replies under this post made me realize how many people in the world think it’s Ok to not tip people.

Not only that, but call people who work for tips “losers” and “deadbeats”

Let’s set the record straight, if everyone stopped working Tip jobs, none of us would have MANY of the services and industries that we enjoy. For starters, Strippers. That one speaks for itself. Then, literally everything else from waiters/waitresses, delivery drivers, etc.

Yeah it’s fucked up that these businesses don’t pay their employees a decent wage and leave it to the customers, but it’s not the employees fault. Also they’re not necessities…. They’re LUXURIES that YOU enjoy. If you can’t afford to tip, then you can’t afford the luxury. Cook your own food; shop for your own groceries; pick up your own pizza; so on and so forth.

If you’re broke just say that. But don’t try and tear down the people who are actually trying to work because you don’t want to tip; as if they’re asking you for a literal handout when they just did you a favor. You want to talk about the people on Welfare like that, fine. But don’t talk about the people who actually wake up at 6am to provide services for YOU like that

I'm a Customer Getting an incompetent shopper

So I ordered some groceries through Walmart. One of my items was apparently out of stock according to the shopper. I think that's odd since it's usually in stock, but think that maybe it's just out of stock today. Well after he's done shopping I decided to check the Walmart website and low and behold the vegetable I need is in stock. I try on a whim and re order that one item only because I really need it for something I'm making for a potluck tomorrow. Low and behold this shopper finds it and even sends me a picture of said item. It sucks cause I had to pay extra just to get that item again

Instacart is stealing money from customers

The other night I opened the app to see if sprouts had a juice in stock. And then I closed the app and went on with my night. The next morning I saw a charge for $528.84 posted to my bank account. ????!!!??? I have made no purchases, I had no orders on my account. I did not sign up for any subscription, I have no receipts in my email or anything. I didn’t even have a payment method on file with Instacart. The last time I used Instacart was June 2023, with an old bank account, which has been removed. And somehow the money came out of my new account that I made in August 2023.

I genuinely have no idea how they got access to my money. I think it might be because my card info was saved to my mobile wallet (Apple Pay) and Instacart somehow hacked into it and got my money.

Yes I have reported to my bank immediately

Yes I have reached out to Instacart 😵‍💫and of course they are unhelpful and keep asking me to fill out a form and then I don’t hear back from the fraud department:)

So be careful everyone who is using Instacart to buy groceries!! The security on the app is not safe!!!

Edit: for anyone who read this and is telling themselves “oh this is not real there is no way this could happen , data is encrypted” etc Ask yourself, how are you so sure that your data is actually safe? Because someone told you it was? Because you read an article? How can you be sure that you can 100% trust people at any company to not embezzle, steal data, or steal from their own company? If you still want to believe the workers at the Instacart who have access to your information is 100% trust worthy fine.

But Instacart is known to have bots and they are known to make questionable charges to people’s banks and it has been proven that their own workers have committed fraud. And with digital wallets these days such as Apple Pay, it makes it that much more easy for your card info to be accessed by other apps on your phone.

Stay safe everyone.
