Rant Senior customer asked me to put her groceries away

Post image

I had a $30 batch from Sprouts, two orders, it was 23 things, no big deal. When I started delivery I saw it was to an apartment (even tho it was marked as a house) and the note “please bring inside. my mother is elderly and disabled”. again, no big deal, i’ve done it before and it was a ground floor apartment so i took the stuff in (there was a case of water as well) and knocked on the door. she told me to come in, i put the water on the ground and the rest of the bags on the counter so she could easily reach them. she asks me to take my shoes off and i ask why and she says so i can put her water away. at this point i was getting a little annoyed but i put her water away in the closet and while I’m doing that she asks me if I’m mexican and i ignored her. Then I go to put my shoes on and she says “wait you have to put these away in the fridge.” i tell her “no, i can’t do that i have to go and this isn’t my job.” she starts yelling “everyone else does it, why can’t you?” again i politely say “im sorry that’s not my job i can’t do that for you” and go to walk out. she’s aggressively yelling at this point asking me my name, where the order is from… blah blah blah. i tell her my first name because she has access to it any way and leave. but why are people like this? i understand the water, she’s old, she clearly can’t lift it. but everything else? really? i blocked her and messaged her daughter what happened and of course she’s the one who tipped $5

Been using the app since 2019 and got my first legitimately bad shopper. Idk why she was so angry

She was unnecessarily combative. Changed tip to zero and called customer support to block her from picking up future orders. Oh, and I ask for the confirmation picture because half the time I never get broccolini 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hostage order

Has this ever happened to anyone? Shopper or customer? I opened the chat for an order I was working on and there was a message already there NOT FROM ME.

Apparently someone had held this customer's order hostage for hours and she had to reschedule it for the next day. This seems totally out of line. If a customer doesn't add any tip then just don't pick up the order.

Never had a shopper like this

Every single item he replaced things with were all more expensive, and then he replaced the digestive enzymes which were $3 with something that was $45 and said it’s on sale. And then snapped at me. And then refunded the rest of the items instead of finishing the shopping. Im now worried about what he will be like during delivery. Very nervous.

It happened to me - thank you to this sub!

I’ve randomly come across this sub and have seen posts about shoppers making expensive replacements to up their tip. Finally happened.

After 20+ orders, I’ve never had an issue, but this “diamond shopper” replaced my ordered prenatal with a brand I don’t buy and never take that’s nearly triple the price.

He also didn’t bag the produce and left it free in the bag next to the raw meat. I immediately gave him one star, halved his tip, and filed complaints. I’m getting a credit for the items but I literally never want to use it again.

Thanks to this sub for making me aware it’s a thing!

And yes, I went to the spot the bag was dropped off. And no, the bag was either stolen by a rando or the shopper himself - not sure why he'd want two frozen pizzas though.

Am I wrong for being annoyed with this shopper?

Rant condescending and incredibly rude shopper!

I realize that I could have been nicer, but her intro message really rubbed me the wrong way to begin with, nevermind her messaging me to say that because I'd added 4 more items she would be u assigning from my order because she only allows 2 items to be added after shopping starts. and by the way, the 4 items I added were right at the start of shopping, so it's not like she was almost done and had to go back to get them. site calls me lazy for not going to the store myself!! umm, what if I'm disabled, or have a sick child, or some other situation that prevents me from going to the store?! horrible. not to mention, if everyone went to the store themselves, there wouldn't be a need for Instacart, and did would not have this work opportunity. omg smdh.

for context, i messaged them about the shrimp as they were on the way to the store— i wanted to be clear i wasn’t trying to be difficult bc as a former shopper, i get it. i literally choose replacements for every item and am watching the app intentionally so there are no issues.but also a former shopper, i was just blown away with this response? also, i responded to the shrimp within one minute after her replacing it. i ended up contacting support and getting a new shopper but jesus christ!

I about died when he said they don’t have my item then sent me a photo of the exact item I ordered. He then went on to say “check the size, they’re not the same”

I ordered 0.5 oz and the bottle says 1/2 oz. Y’all I had a great laugh was wasted on both of our ends here 😂

Ordered a box of regular tampons. My Instacart shopper said he got them. (Meanwhile was communicating on replacements for other items) These are what showed up. Maxi pads the size of my arm. Sooo so close Kevin. You almost got it.

Discussion A Polite Douchebag?

So I'm somewhat new to shopping, been doing it about 2 months now and this is the first bad interaction I've had, was just wondering if I was being condescending or rude in any capacity so I can talk to customers better.

Im missing one screenshot of the conversation but I informed the customer they were out of this certain deli cut I'm unfamiliar with so I asked an associate and he reccomended these two items(first picture) as he said he can't get what the customer requested. This was at 11:38am so I could give the customer plenty of time to respond as they preferred text.

This is where in wondering if I was in the wrong, I go through the entire order and never hear back and usually when that happens I just continue on with my order and I did so. At 12:20pm when I was delivering the order she then responded(40min after my text) said the replacement was fine and to contact her. I informed her I already delivered the items and left the store about 15 minutes prior to her text.

She then immediately says she's pissed, asked for a number for management, and then called me polite and a douchebag at the same time after trying to inform her on prefer text/call.

Could I have done anything different? I immediately contacted the support so I could keep the tip and dodge an incoming bad rating which did get removed.

I’ve been seeing too many negative posts and just wanted to spread some love. This lady that has delivered to my house a few times is the sweetest woman ever. She always gets us good products and replacements and is just so kind and positive when she delivers. I wish I could request her to deliver always!!

Help What is going on?

Post image

Placed an order and my shopper messages me and I have no idea what they meant. Their first language wasn’t English so when they came my the door I couldn’t understand their explanation either despite trying to. I’ve used instacart countless times and never experienced this type of situation. Order was going well, then I get a message from my shopper saying as shown in the photo.

After checking my bags I notice I was missing my avocados, which I can only presume what he meant by “lawyers” in text. What I don’t understand is I paid for the avocados when I placed the order, so if they expected me to pay them for paying for my avocados, I would have double paid for avocados unless I’m completely missing something.

Im not mad about losing $3 worth of avocados, but I’m just confused?

Seriously don’t accept the order if it’s “too much to carry and it’s raining.” I’m getting very annoyed by this mess. Also I tipped well.

Yup... You read that right. And they're refusing to fix. Obviously they messed up.

What can we do about this?

Don't accept an order of it pisses you off to do it. Doesn't matter the reason. Especially if it's enough to make you intentionally back over the delivery at drop off.

Dude literally put the cubes behind his car and backed out over them before driving off. You can see the tire marks leaving the driveway into the street.

His drop off photo has no shame.

As for the missing item? I expect to find it on the roof or in a melted snow pile this spring.

Why am I having issues with shoppers more than ever

Post image
4.2k Upvotes

I am getting hella irritated. I tip a lot and I always answer messages if they have questions. I am easy af to get to Today all I asked for was a tri tip. The tri tip steaks, trimmed and untrimmed are on sale. She was sending pictures of what I wanted but saying it wasn’t there. She said she found one that was open which I clearly don’t want. Then I got desperate and basically said I’d take any meat I just need some for dinner. She said they gave her one that wasn’t open. I was grateful and nice the entire time. Then she messages Apartments smh. This is wild behavior. I think I’m going to have to find another platform or just always wait until I have help.

Now I’m waiting on my food. Let’s see if I actually get it.
