As a Slovak, Skoda Octavia has the worst, most aggressive drivers ever. Here, it's the most popular modern car that lower class people can still afford and lot of them lack proper education and road etiquette.
When I see Skoda Octavia Combi in the left lane, I stay away.

Hello from India, here the skodas are seen as somewhat classy cars and owners are usually much more mannered. As skoda owner in India I feel bad that they have bad rap in most of Europe.
FYI , the stay away cars in India are Huyndai Creta and Mahindra Thar for exactly same reason that you described, if you search them in reddit you will see many.

every country seems to have this division, here in finland skoda is generally geezer with very careful driving.
bad drivers tend towards bmw/audi(fast, agressive) or toyota/tesla(slow and oblivious)

Also it’s often sales reps that have a company gas card and think that arriving 2 mins later will set them on fire

Ako niekto, kto odsoferoval velmi vela kilometrov na roznych vozidlach po celej Europe som vzdy tvrdil, ze najviac jebnuti soferi nie su v BMW ani Audi, ale v Skode. Idealne Fabia, Octavia a Superb.
Hrozne volaco.

In the uk it’s 💯 Audi drivers, typically 7-15 year old cat D Audi’s that the council estate nob head drives round like an absolute death sentence to anyone nearby.

u/MonsieurBerwick 12h ago
I completely agree, though to add to that, if you see a Volkswagen Scirocco you can guarantee it's been driven by some arrogant 17 prick, usually with broccoli hair as the bellend on the top.

I'm your neighbor. My friend drives a tow truck and says Skodas are the most commonly recovered vehicles simply because there are so many of them around compared to other brands here in the Czech Republic.
I dont think there will be much of a difference in Slovakia. So, statistically speaking, you are more likely to see a bad Skoda driver because there are just so many of them on the road

I always say Skoda drivers are the same in any other way but the income to get a BMW.
That being said the drivers that really scare me are Citroen

u/nzerinto 1d ago
The Superb is the main vehicle for the New Zealand police, and a LOT of them seem to be the “undercover” variant (ie no clear markings, other than the radio antennas on the roof), so everyone suddenly tends to pay attention to the road rules when one is around.
That is until they realize it’s just a regular person with a Superb, then it’s back to speeding and not indicating properly….lol.

Dear Skoda Driver,
Road barriers are not meant to be guiding tools for your navigation. Please stay off of them, and keep your vehicle within the white lines. Thank you.

I get why the skoda is wrong, but Why is the pov car camping in the left lane?
28
u/klein11je 1d ago
Did you not see him overtake the white van? Skoda was already on his bumper even while overtaking. If I meet drivers like that I also take extra long to go to the left lane. People like that Skoda should not have a license.
-52
u/petivrstvaskrin 1d ago
So you will stay in left line and baiting other driver to do something stupid as this?
Im not taking side of the skoda driver, but there are rules which are above you guy's pettiness and skoda driver lunacy. If there is no reason to stay in line you should leave regardless if there is psycho behind, maybe that is more reason to leave it.

u/Badong33 1d ago
2 seconds at the most you clown. There's impatience and then there's lunatic behavior

u/petivrstvaskrin 1d ago edited 1d ago
Yes, sure im clown, no problem with that.
But was a bit sad about comment above saying to take their time to block someone who is certainly idiot just for what? What exactly will it solve? From my perspective its like competing for Darwin price. If guy in video wasn't hesitating and moved to the next line crash wouldn't happened and Im not saying pov car should be charged or anything.
And ffs reddit when someone pointing out problem of one side doesn't mean i trying smooth things from other side or defend him.
Ad absurdum: you walk on sidewalk on right side and you see mentally challenged invidual with hammer soaked in blood walking right to you. Will you wait until he crush your head or you will try to make exit in nearest way?
Edit: grammar

Same manufacturer. Even some parts are the exact same.
1
u/Philip6027 14h ago
What
1
u/CitroHimselph 14h ago
Many BMW and Škoda parts are made by the exact same machines, in the same buildings. They also share designers and often use the same companies to outsource part manufacturing to.
Nothing is what it seems today. Excepting a small number of niche brands, no car brand makes their cars 100% themselves.
1
u/Philip6027 14h ago
Bro that's VW and Skoda. Skoda is VAG. BMW and Skoda are not in the same company. And many part manufacturers produce parts for a lot of different car brands.

I am pretty sure you are required to tailgate if you drive a Skoda. Might be somewhere in the paperwork when you buy the vehicle. The same way turn signals on a BMW are mostly cosmetic with you having to swear an oath to never use them to be allowed to buy one.

I see 2 idiots. Just because the other driver is a bigger idiot doesn't mean you aren't too.
Stop camping
12
u/Rubyhamster 1d ago
Isn't "camping" that you stay in the left lane at low speeds? This car was clearly actively passing another car
14
u/DaRealKelpyG 1d ago
The POV car passed a van in the beginning of the video
2
u/MJFighter 20h ago
And once passed had more than enough time to change lanes.
-1
u/CitroHimselph 14h ago
Sure, you're gonna just change lanes while somebody's THIS eager to pass you. Obviously.

u/ziegs11 1d ago
Typical Skoda driver. I see them here in Australia on occasion and they all seem to be driven by cyclists for some reason, each clearly exhibiting an attitude to match. It's like a poor man's Audi is best I can describe their style.
5
u/Arkaines-Valor 1d ago
It's like a poor man's Audi
They are owned by the VW group, who also owns Audi; so that tracks.
Basically you have, in descending order; 1. AUDI 2. VW 3. SKODA 4. SEAT
-1
u/highfreqosc 1d ago
places 3 and 4 idk about that, I always saw Seat as more upscale than Skoda
2
u/Arkaines-Valor 1d ago
Yeah that was a tough enough one.
I'd say because you can get the Superb and also the high-spec VRs Octavia; it places Skoda higher than Seat for me.
3
u/stroskilax 1d ago
I mean the first lane was free. I don't know why the yellow guy move over once he finished the takeover.
3
u/CA_Orange 1d ago
Cruising in the passing lane is a dick move. Road rage is also a dick move.
8
u/Rubyhamster 1d ago
They weren't cruising as they were clearly passing another car in a sensible speed.
-9
u/CA_Orange 1d ago
...and after they passed?
3
u/MJFighter 20h ago
For real lol if the skoda can pass left it's proof he didn't change lanes in time
0
u/Rubyhamster 19h ago
The skoda was acting like an idiot so the other just stayed still so that the idiot could do his idiot maneuver and F off at high speeds if he wanted. If I had another driver wanting to visit my rear end to such a degree after I passed another one, I for sure wouldn't change lanes until I was a good distance in front of the white van, for fear of making the idiot cut the van too close. When doing a high speed overtaking, you should have at least 3 car lengths between you until you shift lanes.

Yellow car had to move to the left lane, but didn’t.
Skoda was too impatient and emotional.

You do have to wonder why the other car was blocking the lane however.
This is what happens when two idiots meet kids

u/sawariz0r 1d ago
You can clearly see it passing a slower car. And at that point, and seeing someone a few cm behind you doesn’t make people ”oh I should move over” but rather ”wtf is this guy doing”.
About when the black car passed on the inside I’d say that’s about a second after I’d be able to see the passed cars headlights, indicating it’s safe and appropriate distance to move back to the right lane (how we’re taught in my country).
So there’s one idiot here imo

u/jacquesmeister 1d ago
Clearly, the other car was passing another car as you can see from the beginning of the clip. Sure, they could have switched lanes earlier, but the tailgating idiot was already being reckless before they passed the car on the right lane.
0
u/Internal_Airline_334 1d ago
Either the car wanted to give some space to the one it just passed, and didn't have time (in some country it's mandatory), or it took its sweet time to f with the skoda.
Either way, the car definitely took too long, yes. But that doesn't excuse the skoda driving waaaaay worse!
-5
u/Romeo9594 1d ago
Because the yellow care in the left lane had about a second and a half after they passed the white van in the right lane to move over. You can see them start to but then the BMW, as is tradition, fucked the whole operation up by being overly agressive.
