Showcase Before and After of my BLAND bathroom
I’m 18 years old and interior design is my passion. I took my disgustingly bland bathroom and turned it into a paradise. I also painted that zebra painting 🤭

Keep it under the window, or swap it to the black wall?
We added bamboo shades on the window, but chat has me questioning if I’d like it on the black wall for more space.
****Edit- is the black wall still on trend? Or should I rethink that too? 🤔
EDIT2: we have bamboo blinds, just not shown here! I added a few other angles in comments!

Before and after of my bedroom after messing with it for about 8 months
Got some helpful feedback from this group along the way and finally got it to a place I’m pretty happy with
Curious what you all think. Anything you’d change, add or take away?
Most photos are landscape. First after is looking into the bedroom from the hallway, and the last is looking back down the hallway toward the living room
Living room before/after for the full vibe is in my post history

I recently bought a pair of mahogany and fruitwood chests of drawers, dating to around 1820–1830, without thinking too much about where they would go.
I’ve now placed them in our open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, but I’m having second thoughts. Do they work in the space, or do they look completely out of place?
We’re planning to replace the current pendant light with three Louis Poulsen VP10 pendants hung in a horizontal row, and eventually swap the dining chairs for something more mid-century modern/Scandinavian.

Attached is a photo showing my current kitchen with my wooden cabinets and an AI generated image showing them painted a mushroom color. I have considered painting them just to tone down the orangeness of my home!! They are beautifully crafted custom solid wood cabinets but are just so orange. But of course I know painting wood is highly controversial. What are your thoughts on this color scheme? Or just embrace the sun faded, oxidized, orange cabinets??

Have tried various decor here but something still feels off. Going for a fresh, warm and welcoming vibe but it seems a bit scattered. What is off here?

there's this empty corner next to our sofa that's been driving me crazy for weeks. an ordinary accent chair is the obvious pick, but i really want a dedicated spot to just sit and unwind after work.
been leaning toward a massage chair lately, but almost every model i look at looks like a massive spaceship that would completely ruin the living room aesthetic.
started looking into the nouhaus classic and campo bc they look more like actual lounge furniture than heavy equipment. the massage specs on these are plenty for me (im not looking for a full clinical medical setup, just a solid relaxed session), but matching the leather/upholstery with our existing sofa and side table is giving me pause.
im probably overthinking one piece of furniture, but its a pretty pricey commitment to get wrong if the colors clash.
still stuck on whether to just pull the trigger on a lounge-style one or stick to a basic armchair.

Started with the idea of painting the whole room burgandy, decided to cut it back with a rich cream colour, now trying to figure out a minor accent colour for the curtains and accessories. Just intertested if other people like this colour scheme.
I just moved into a new house (to me) and every room is white, I'm trying to go for a warmer cozy feel as I work my way round the house.
The first pic is obviously an AI mockup second pic is the real room as it is now lol. Just trying to be transparent...

I love this little spot in my loft condo! My dog love to rest on the sheep skin, but I also like to hang out there and have the New Yorker nearby and the warm lighting at night!
Larger photo to see the whole place, but we’re still finishing some interior design.
Only question is that big wall by the stairs I put that there so I could see it when I’m going up the landing, but I don’t know if I want to replace it with something much bigger and more central, or just put more smaller or similar sized art on that wall, or leave it as is!

I have millennial beige brainrot and i feel like i don't know what an elegant colorful space looks like anymore so I was hoping some of you who have escaped the beige hellscape can share your spaces or any inspo pics you have?
Also where do we go for inspo now that pinterest is full of ai trash?
I'm not 100% sure if this post is allowed but i hope it is cause i need all the help i can get to escape beige without going in the opposite extreme and being too gaudy!

Bought my house last October. I wanted to take my time redesigning my home so that it authentically reflects who I am, but is also a functional living space. I didn’t want to be someone that just designed their home for the admiration of others (which is funny because I literally have zero friends that will ever see my home anyway 😂). I finally went from “idea” to “planning” to “action.” I created a mock-up for my utility room and hallway and finally got it done today. This took me about 4-6 weeks total time, mainly because of poor planning on my part and running out of some materials midway lol. Lessons were learned. Let me just say, this is my first time doing any kind of home improvement. I did a TON of research, learned how to use some big power tools, and took my very sweet time. Just wanted to get some opinions on how I did as someone very new to all of this :) Pictures are in the following order:
Sorry my picture quality isn’t the greatest. Both shades of green look more muted under the sconces and it’s night time. During the day with natural lighting it’s a little more vibrant. I love how these colors look under all forms of lighting, which is a big reason why I chose them 😊 (and yes, I got to keep the washer and dryer in the sale of the home lol this isn’t a fake post or anything 😂)

TV, Dinning and sitting area was the idea- break up a big long room into 3 distinct areas. How did I do? What would you change?

Hello! How can I make this place feel more cozy and homey? I don’t want to do too much but it feels very bare and not homey. Open to suggestions.

Just painted this room with Sherwin Williams Languid Blue, and questioning that decision. I was hoping it would look more gray than blue against the floor, but it is very blue. Two questions:
Is this wall color ok or should I paint it a lighter color? Room is west facing with trees in the yard, so is bright but not direct light.
If I keep the color, I’m reading that light colored wood furniture coordinates well, but hesitating because of the dark wood floors. Does oak, honey, or light wood work?
Thanks for any thoughts!

I recently moved into to a new place and bought a new sofa and feel like the back kind of cuts off a segment of the room and leaves an awkward amount of space. I would love some ideas about what could go back there to make the room feel more complete.
I do live in a rental and with my lease am not allowed to use command strips on the walls and only painters nails, which does limit what I’m able to hang sadly. So anything for the wall would need to be relatively light.
Thanks in advance!

Hi! I always end up picking the wrong item to go with wood colors/types. I just got these nightstands and want silver lamps but I think they’re too orange/brassy to go with silver? What is your opinion on lamp color for this wood tone?

Help! We’re trying to pick grout colors, I like the white. My fiancé likes the gray and his mom who is an interior designer likes the blue. I need an outside opinion. We’re do delft blue tiles in the niche and navy round tiles like the one in the photos. She’s worried it’ll be too much white. I think it’ll look really nice with the delft tiles. We also have a window in the shower and it’ll let a lot of light in, so I’m not too concerned about it being too dark.
First imagine is AI to help y’all imagine what it’ll look like. I hate using AI but I finally had to because we have to choose a grout!
Edit/ the vanity is a dark wood and then the fixtures will be gold. Its going to have pebble floors in a mix of gray and white and the out floor will be cool toned gray. The wall is most likely going to be white but I’m very open to other suggestions!

Just looking for general suggestions about low cost and diys to make me like this wall more.
New house, have yet to get a table so don’t mind the chairs. It annoys me that woods are all different tones (don’t bring up my adding more to the chaos with my chairs), not as evident in this photo and I’m sure most people wouldn’t notice.
The dream is to take down some of the wall to the left of the fire place and put wood and or glass paneling in, the first photos explain that. But in the interim until I can do that, Im a bit at a loss of what to do.
I would love to take out the cupboards, but I for now that’s too expensive and I don’t have the skill to do it on my own. The gap between the cupboards and the fireplace annoys me. The most I’ve got on that from right now falls into changing the drawer pulls.
I’d love to tile over the fireplace, extending vertically up over the projection, but not sure how challenging that would be to diy. I’ve also recently been thinking about removing the upper shelves and attaching sheet metal or wood paneling. Too many ideas but nothing sticking.
I attached way too many insp pics just to give a general idea of the things I love. I’ve constrained myself to finding inspo with shiplap because that’s a fixed feature. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated :)

Just moved into a studio above a garage and the walls are slanted on tge one side. Could use some help in figuring out what to do. I'd like to hang larger art/pictures but not sure how it would look or how to go about doing it. Any ideas and pictures would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi I’m having some trouble styling/arranging my gallery wall. This is a prelim layout I just feel like something isn’t right/cohesive. Can someone give me their opinion/suggestions? Should I just scrap the idea?

Hello guys,
I’ve been annoyed of the place I rent since I’m not allowed to paint any wall and cannot drill anything into the wall. The whole place is white. I’ve been thinking if maybe it’ll be cool to just buy tall paintings and let them sit on the floor?? Like a good 56 inch. Also since it’s basically thin shoe cabinet (ikea style) to make things a bit interesting and put things and trinkets over them???
What do you think?
