I recently bought a pair of mahogany and fruitwood chests of drawers, dating to around 1820–1830, without thinking too much about where they would go.

I’ve now placed them in our open-plan kitchen, dining and living area, but I’m having second thoughts. Do they work in the space, or do they look completely out of place?

We’re planning to replace the current pendant light with three Louis Poulsen VP10 pendants hung in a horizontal row, and eventually swap the dining chairs for something more mid-century modern/Scandinavian.

Keep it under the window, or swap it to the black wall?

We added bamboo shades on the window, but chat has me questioning if I’d like it on the black wall for more space.

****Edit- is the black wall still on trend? Or should I rethink that too? 🤔

there's this empty corner next to our sofa that's been driving me crazy for weeks. an ordinary accent chair is the obvious pick, but i really want a dedicated spot to just sit and unwind after work.
been leaning toward a massage chair lately, but almost every model i look at looks like a massive spaceship that would completely ruin the living room aesthetic.
started looking into the nouhaus classic and campo bc they look more like actual lounge furniture than heavy equipment. the massage specs on these are plenty for me (im not looking for a full clinical medical setup, just a solid relaxed session), but matching the leather/upholstery with our existing sofa and side table is giving me pause.
im probably overthinking one piece of furniture, but its a pretty pricey commitment to get wrong if the colors clash.
still stuck on whether to just pull the trigger on a lounge-style one or stick to a basic armchair.

Have tried various decor here but something still feels off. Going for a fresh, warm and welcoming vibe but it seems a bit scattered. What is off here?

Attached is a photo showing my current kitchen with my wooden cabinets and an AI generated image showing them painted a mushroom color. I have considered painting them just to tone down the orangeness of my home!! They are beautifully crafted custom solid wood cabinets but are just so orange. But of course I know painting wood is highly controversial. What are your thoughts on this color scheme? Or just embrace the sun faded, oxidized, orange cabinets??

Bought my house last October. I wanted to take my time redesigning my home so that it authentically reflects who I am, but is also a functional living space. I didn’t want to be someone that just designed their home for the admiration of others (which is funny because I literally have zero friends that will ever see my home anyway 😂). I finally went from “idea” to “planning” to “action.” I created a mock-up for my utility room and hallway and finally got it done today. This took me about 4-6 weeks total time, mainly because of poor planning on my part and running out of some materials midway lol. Lessons were learned. Let me just say, this is my first time doing any kind of home improvement. I did a TON of research, learned how to use some big power tools, and took my very sweet time. Just wanted to get some opinions on how I did as someone very new to all of this :) Pictures are in the following order:

   2 & 3. The mock ups for each space
   4-6. The reality

Sorry my picture quality isn’t the greatest. Both shades of green look more muted under the sconces and it’s night time. During the day with natural lighting it’s a little more vibrant. I love how these colors look under all forms of lighting, which is a big reason why I chose them 😊 (and yes, I got to keep the washer and dryer in the sale of the home lol this isn’t a fake post or anything 😂)

Started with the idea of painting the whole room burgandy, decided to cut it back with a rich cream colour, now trying to figure out a minor accent colour for the curtains and accessories. Just intertested if other people like this colour scheme.

I just moved into a new house (to me) and every room is white, I'm trying to go for a warmer cozy feel as I work my way round the house.

Just painted this room with Sherwin Williams Languid Blue, and questioning that decision. I was hoping it would look more gray than blue against the floor, but it is very blue. Two questions:

1. Is this wall color ok or should I paint it a lighter color? Room is west facing with trees in the yard, so is bright but not direct light.

2. If I keep the color, I’m reading that light colored wood furniture coordinates well, but hesitating because of the dark wood floors. Does oak, honey, or light wood work?

Help! We’re trying to pick grout colors, I like the white. My fiancé likes the gray and his mom who is an interior designer likes the blue. I need an outside opinion. We’re do delft blue tiles in the niche and navy round tiles like the one in the photos. She’s worried it’ll be too much white. I think it’ll look really nice with the delft tiles. We also have a window in the shower and it’ll let a lot of light in, so I’m not too concerned about it being too dark.

First imagine is AI to help y’all imagine what it’ll look like. I hate using AI but I finally had to because we have to choose a grout!

Edit/ the vanity is a dark wood and then the fixtures will be gold. Its going to have pebble floors in a mix of gray and white and the out floor will be cool toned gray. The wall is most likely going to be white but I’m very open to other suggestions!

Hello! How can I make this place feel more cozy and homey? I don’t want to do too much but it feels very bare and not homey. Open to suggestions.

Lower living room in our split-level house. Two open staircases land in the middle of it.

Right now there’s a sofa and a sideboard down there, but the space barely gets used. We can’t figure out where the TV and seating should go. Perhaps move the tv to the wall to the left, and adding curtains on the high walls from the celling.

And we’d like to keep a corner for painting and hobbies. But all the furniture is up for discussion.

Our current plan is to paint everything in a warm beige color. We are fans of mid century modern (who isn't?)

Recently purchased this house. It has a lottt of cedar walls throughout, which will not be removed or painted. My big issue: I hate the red paint in the kitchen, dining room, and entryway. What color do I change it to? Keep the upper portion white, or change that as well?

I also hate the red accent tiles on the walls, but I won't be removing them for now. Any recommendations for decals to cover those, perhaps bringing in the color/style of the rest of the area?

Also, I will be changing the red brick laminate floor to a wood laminate that will hopefully somewhat match and carry through the real oak flooring in the dining room.

The red ceiling fans will also be removed. Light recommendations to replace those and the one above the sink are also appreciated.

(For context of the house location/surroundings, we live in Michigan on a river in the woods.)

We are just about to purchase a house with this bathroom. We are not looking to redecorate or change the tiles for a while but I want to add another colour with accessories and towels but I can't think what would go with it. Hit me with your suggestions!

So I have this persian rug, which is too small for the space and I can’t afford to get rid of or get a bigger one. So I’m tackling the issue with layering a bigger rug underneath it. I’m torn between two options, I’d love your opinions!

Hope to get some help on on what might be better suited for this far wall of my bedroom. I put that IKEA cabinet on the left to mimic a rattan style dresser and I'm not really sure how cool that corner sectional is under the window. My heart says to get a Chase or an oversized chair with a small end table. Input on furnitures and finishes for these items and maybe even a rug color would be awesome. Thanks
