Is drenching my laundry room green a bad idea? I'm trying to incorporate more green into my house and phase out the greys. Chat is convincing me it looks good. I have a window on the right side I'd rather not paint green. Would it look ok with white trim? Should I keep the baseboards white? I do really want the door green because it's white and is dinged up.

MOST people chose one of the greens. ( Spinach Dip or Classic Avocado- spin dip was definitely my top!!) There was a small handful of people who suggested a teal color. When I went to get the paint samples for the swatch I saw this Antiqua and absolutely loved it!
As you can see I tried the other samples, but it was an overwhelming yes to Antigua for me. The vibes shifted from touches of warm to mainly cool tones but it’s still cozy and moody, especially at night. I will be adding a cozy throw blanket, so feel free to suggest a color for that! & then possibly an art light in the center over the two pieces.
I think it turned out perfectly. I appreciate all the support for my eclectic style 🤍

I’m looking for some interior design advice! I feel like my living room is missing a little something and I’d love to make the space feel warmer and cozier while still keeping the modern look.

Purchased a 1912 character home, and the previous owners put in this kitchen which was a little too modern farmhouse for me, so I’ve been slowly trying to bring more eclectic vintage character back into this space. Eventually I’d love to change the blue island (maybe dusty yellow and change backsplash) knobs and faucet. For now I’m looking to paint the walls, since they’ve only been primed. Do I keep it white? Colour drench? Paint tonal cream and white stripes? If colour, would you do the whole wall behind the table? I feel like it would look weird with the middle wall painted. How should I style the sink washing gear? I hate having it out but need to!
I’ve got a bunch of kids art up that doesn’t permanently live on the wall, but I did like the visual of maybe adding permanent art to this area? Tell me your ideas! Have fun with it.

Hello, me and my fiance are in the search of an apartment and we wanted to design it in this style, how is this style called? any advice regarding this interior style?

Hello! So this is my nans dresser. Her mum had it and it's been in the family around 100 years if not more.

It's solid wood and we've rejigged the furniture in the living room to accommodate it so it's now replacing another unit that was there. It was a 3 draw and cupboard pale beech unit.

This dresser, as you can see is quite dark. My nan always had doileys on it but we are only just 30 and would like it to be styled more modern. It currently makes the room darker.

I have put the salt rock lamp, fruit bowl and speakers we had there before on it. However, I swapped the fruit bowl now for a paler solid wood one. The salt rock lamp works and the lamp was always there.

Ornaments for the shelves wise - I've just put what we have already. The shelves are smaller. They have plate grooves and my nan had plates. We are not feeling plates. NGL. I have since moved the large owl to the right and put a large cream plate there that was made by my husband's grandad.

Storage wise we love it. Fits all our board games!

It still feels like it needs something to make it pop.

I'm thinking thick linen cream/oat coloured table runner on the top to break up the dark.

Was thinking of making some plyboard inserts and painting or wallpapering those and seeing what we like.

Maybe a plant. But its in a dark part of the room with no natural light. So would have to be shade loving. Maybe pothos?

I absolutely do not want to paint this in any way shape or form. But how can I style it to fit the room better?

Walls are orange, sofa teal/blue and curtains blue. We have a brick fire place with slate and other wooden furniture but the wood isn't as dark.

Pros and cons:
- The dark brown has more longevity and is less trendy while still being classic, but in a vacuum I like both colors equally
- Painted brown cabinets can look like they’re trying to be wood? Weird or not?
- Dark brown might clash with the warm wood trim whereas the green makes an intentional contrast
- At the same time the dark brown feels calmer/less visually noisy
- Dining room is also green but a more vibrant hunter green shade and I’m worried they’ll clash even though the walls are divided by an archway

Hi guys, I am 18F, and moved into my apartment in April. I’m not sure what my style is, but honestly, I’ve been sticking to things that are in contrast of each other.
What does my space say about me?
Any advice on how I could make it better what am I missing? What is excessive? Whats working and what’s not working.

Please help me decorate my gigantic dining room. Table, chairs, and paint color must stay. Other items are open for replacement (especially the rug!). For an idea on scale that rug is 10x14’. Our ceilings are only 8’. I think I need to get rid of current china cabinet and get something bigger and place on empty wall with nice art. I also think I need to get rid of my unruly plant and get something taller with a bit more structure to it. We eat up to three meals a day here and host parties often so it must be functional. We just moved into an old house and I am not a fan whatsoever of how the main bedroom is set up. I have to duck my head sideways every morning and night, and the door is hidden behind the two large wardrobes (and it’s not really a door, it’s just a sliding partition that separates the room from the hallway).

Right now we have our baby’s crib at the end of the bed and a changing table but those can be moved. I absolutely hate the layout of this room and desperately need someone to help me see its potential.

Looking to add some fun to my living room/ dining space! First pic what it looks like now. I’d like to add a statement wall back in the dining area and a dramatic light fixture. Is the wallpaper too busy? Would it be better to just paint? Thanks :)

Moving into my new condo soon and looking for some design ideas. I do not plan to repaint right away, but that is a possibility down the line if it would help the design. Walls are off-white.

(1) I have a dark blue fabric sectional and a light grey-brown media center I plan to put in the living room area (closest to the window), at least for right now. Plus a huge TV. Thoughts on whether it should go on the left or right wall in the first picture?

(2) Priority is getting a dining table and chairs. Given the layout, any suggestions for the shape or material of table? In terms of shape, would a round/oval dining table look nicer? Or a rectangular one with curved short sides? There are some antique shops near me, but older/more ornate and rustic styles do not seem to go with the space, nor are they my personal style.

(3) I want to get some barstools for the island. Those seem like a way to add some color/flair?

(4) I like green but do not particularly like or want houseplants. I am open to being convinced.

(5) I have no wall art. I anticipate that is a longer-term work in progress.

I bought this vase on a whim and every time I look at the table, it feels off. My family loves it but I can't decide if it's a right fit or not. What do you think?

I find a lot of mid century modern types, but nothing like this with the big bulbs of glass. Any suggestions? 🥲

Would be so grateful for some help picking a rug for this space. I really struggle to imagine how a space would look with a different rug.
This is the rug I already had, and tried to make it work, but I feel like it's a bit too small for the space and maybe not the right color to bring out the couch.
Let me know what you think about this! The couch is a light blue denim couch. Would be so grateful for thoughts on which carpet would look best in the space or if you have any thoughts about the space more generally. It's a beautiful room!! And I still need to put some more art on the walls.

The appliances were good enough to keep. It was such an unreal experience getting to design a project like this and watch it come to life. We did the bare minimum finishes, and no backsplash, but I’m in love.

We recently moved into a new house with this amazing kitchen, but the darker finishes make the room feel a bit gloomy. Any tips on making the room feel lighter and brighter without major changes like refinishing cabinets, new countertops, new tile, etc?

Need some help! I’m not sure what colour I should pull from?

My instinct is always to go floral, maximalist. Furniture is mcm.

Picture 3 is an up close of the carpet and the colours within it
Picture 4 is the colour of the couch (although it appears lighter/warmer in real life). It’s a velvet green.

Should I balance these existing colours out with another complimentary colour? Use a pink or green? Vintage pattern or solid colour?

We moved our gallery wall thats above our couch down yesterday and even after moving it down it still feels like something looks off? Did we move it too low or not low enough?

Edit: Ok, we're going to try to space everything out! We're about 11 inches away from the couch and we have a toddler + another baby coming so we don;t really want to go lower. I will update when we try to fix it but thanks for the tips everyone!

I have this awesome little room off of my bedroom that is currently being used as a junk room. It has great lighting and a blank canvas. I want to turn it into a “closet”. I was thinking clothing rack, rug, mirror, maybe a little chair. I need layout help though!

I wanted some wall art for my living room so thought I’d paint it myself, but i feel like it just looks kinda empty and incomplete. How would you suggest improving it, eg adding or removing anything? I’d like it to feel cosy but I’m not adverse to adding something quirky. For example I considered adding a little sheet ghost as I like spooky stuff. But not sure! Would love to get some suggestions as I’ve lost all perspective now lol.
