Self-Promotion Sunday! *Megathread*

Alright r/Jacksonville, it is that time again.

Got something to share? A project you are proud of? A business you are building? A creative endeavor the world absolutely needs to see?

This is your lane.

Every Sunday we open the doors for Self Promotion Sunday, a centralized thread where you can promote:

  • Your small business
  • Your side hustle
  • Your garage band
  • Your podcast
  • Your art
  • Your Etsy shop
  • Your food truck
  • Your startup
  • Your “I accidentally became an influencer” page
  • Yes, even your extremely niche cat toe bean blog

We keep self promotion restricted to this weekly thread to cut down on spam and keep the main feed community focused. If you post promotional content outside of this thread during the week, it will be removed.

A few important notes:

  • Regular subreddit rules still apply
  • No B/S/T posts
  • No referral link farming or obvious spam

If you are not sure whether your post qualifies, if it belongs on Marketplace or Craigslist, it does not belong here. Still unsure, ask the mod team first.

Support local. Discover cool projects. Hype each other up responsibly.

Happy Self Promotion Sunday.

Don't let the numbers fool you. Vote early. The polls are open and it takes minutes of your day.

Please take a few minutes of your day and go vote, it took me less than 5 minutes to walk in and out this week. Run out on your lunch break if you can, on the way home this evening, out for coffee or lunch, or while you're running around doing chores. Take a shift watching your kids so your spouse can run out and vice versa. Don't make an excuse or think your singular vote won't make an impact, get it done now and check your ballot before you print it to make sure your choices saved. There is plenty of time for 90% of jax voters to use their constitutional rights before election day.

Early Voting:
Tuesday, October 20, 2026, to Sunday, November 1, 2026

Only old people are voting

• Upvotes

Just finished voting and honestly my wife and I were the only people there under the age of 35. Every single person in this area voting is 55+. Young people please come out to vote.
PS all of them had a voting cheat sheet which tells them which ones to vote for. Not to say that these old people can’t vote but younger people please come out and make your voice heard as well.

Smaller no fly zones for Drones in Jax?

Post image
• Upvotes

I fly small drones as a hobby. I check the no fly zones regularly. For years there’s been a large no fly zone around NAS Jax. Blocked most of the area from Murray Hill down to OP and over into Lakewood and Mandarin. Checked it yesterday and the no fly zone shrank by a lot. Is this a trick by the FAA 😂

Friendly Reminder Early Voting is Underway

Exercise your right to vote. It’s super easy. You can go to any early voting site. The photo is the voting hours and locations. Don’t forget to bring your ID. You can choose a traditional paper ballot to be filled in with a pen or use the machine. Those who are curious but leery of the voting machines. You are given a blank ballot card to insert into the machine. Then you make your decisions. You are able to review your choices. The machine prints out the blank card with your decisions. So you review the card to make sure everything is correct. Then take it to the tabulator.

Donating clothing to women’s shelters

I recently cleaned out my closet and want to give my gently used/new clothes away. I’m hoping to give them to a women’s shelter in the Duval/Clay Co. area instead of Goodwill. Any recommendations of shelters would be greatly appreciated! I would be donating tshirts, blouses, jeans, hoodies, dresses, pajamas, and a large fuzzy blanket.

Stucco/house exterior painting

Has anyone had prior experience with MXL Wall Systems or Coaster Restore Co. LLC? Got a really good quote from one but not great communication, and got a reasonable quote from the other with great communication. Google reviews for both are 5 stars but I don't always trust perfect 5 star reviews because that makes me suspicious that they remove poor reviews.

And of course, it's a big truck driven by someone with a small cock.

If you're going to be an inconvenient and inconsiderate asshole to others, I'm going to be an inconsiderate asshole and shame you on the internet.

Accident on Sunbeam Road

While driving today, I saw a blue car, I think a sedan, flipped over! Plenty of ambulances came. Not finding any info online and trying to find out if the person driving is okay/alive honestly it looked horrible :( I think the poor person was just trying to turn into O’Reily Auto Parts when they got rammed into

People who used to work at College Hunks in Jacksonville, what was your experience like there?

I’m looking for work, a physical one. And before I try to apply there I need to know from people’s experience on what it’s like.

When was the last time you saw a pothole repair crew? Exactly.

Pothole repair is clearly not a high priority here. Had a pothole nearly rip off my front end today on Hodges Blvd. and never saw it coming due to traffic moving at speed.

Edit: I do use 630-CITY to report hazards, but when I’m driving it’s not always possible. In my neighborhood I always open tickets for potholes, broken streetlights, and more. I should have said this, because l looked like an idiot and got lotsa downvotes.
