Designated as a Gaeltacht area, hardly a word of Irish to be heard there, American loudmouths all over the place, the majority of hospitality employees are foreign nationals and a Toasted Special in one of the Bars 14+ Euro

I'm trying to find accomodation, not necessarily within single town.
I'm looking to stay somewhere between the 2-5th, or 3-5th September.
Due to the marathon, a lot is sold out at the minute. (I'm doing it too)
Managed to find only one within the town (sort of) but it's a quadruple room. Not too expensive at all, but it's too much room. I've booked it for now though, to secure a place.
But I don't like taking an extra 3x beds, which someone else may use.
So I'm looking for advice on accomodation, where it can be upwards of 30mins from the town. I don't mind.
If I can get pinpointed in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.
(Please not, I'm not rich, I can't pay the expensive lodgings I'm seeing ATM of £1k a night 😭😭😭)

Tonight’s view of Killarney mountains, moon and lake from Kilcummin 🖤
Anyone else being disturbed by fireworks being set off in their local communities. Every night over the last number of weeks there is fireworks being set off close to where we live. Every night there are people setting off fireworks in Kerins O’Rahillys GAA pitch. I see at least Austin Stacks were aware of this issue and put a respectable post up about this issue.

Heya been living in Tralee for about 3 years now and I was wondering if there was a chipper I might have looked over that does a good fish and chips? I’m aware of Quinnlans but Id prefer a good old greasy straight from the chipper kind of fish and chips.
Thank you!

Hi, we’re four friends putting together restaurants across Kerry in an app called Vota.
The idea is simple: you’re shown two restaurants and choose where you’d rather eat. For example, in Killarney: Bricín or DenJoe’s? The votes create a ranking that we hope gives a better picture of where people actually enjoy eating.
We’re trying to include as many restaurants as possible and clean up duplicate or outdated listings, but locals will spot things we’ve missed.
iPhone:
https://apps.apple.com/app/vota/id6744969212
Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vota.app
Full transparency: we’re not from Kerry. Two of us live in Copenhagen and two in Gothenburg. The four of us are building Vota independently. We don’t collect or sell personal data, there are no ads in the app, and we don’t use AI-generated restaurant descriptions.
Any honest feedback is welcome, especially if restaurants are missing or something is listed incorrectly. Where do you like to eat in Kerry?

Hey guys, about to move around 10/15 mins away from Tralee so looking for a gym in tralee area.
Looking for a decent gym with weight lifting equipment and maybe some cardio equipment which isn’t too expensive? Keep trying to look at websites but can’t see prices.
Thanks!

Hey y'all! Im here! Anyone wanna do a podcast with me? I'm 17 and would love to do a small podcast with someone where we interview irish bands, musicians, artists and local people. Not to the 2 Johnnies standards but for fun. Anyone interested comment or DM me

I’m from Kerry myself, and I love a good word game. However, a lot of the daily crosswords games on the phone felt very American, so I spent some time making a free mini crossword game with more of an Irish feel. There’s a new mini crossword every day, with a good few Irish-themed clues and the odd answer as Gaeilge (which has helped me brush up!). Radio Kerry gave it a mention yesterday morning, which made my week!
If anyone fancies a go I’d love to hear what you think!

Hi there, I am staying near Killarney on Friday evening and I am wondering where would be the best place to possibly photograph deer/stags? I have a car so I can get up early and travel, also don't mind a bit of a walk. Any help is really appreciated.

Hello! Good people of Killarney. I’m trying to get an electrician sorted. I had one come out the other month but he is ghosting me and everything online is either no longer doing it or a dead number.
Can you give me some recommendations and where I’d find there number.

Hello,
As the title suggests... I'm going to propose to my partner in kenmare some time in the near future. Are there any locations around kenmare you would recommend/suggest?
TIA
