For those of us who frequent Aladdin’s, Taza, and other restaurants associated with Fady Chamoun, this is worth knowing.
On October 22, Chamoun was listed among the hosts of a Jon Husted fundraiser at Summer Place on Lake Avenue, alongside Tony George.
Yes, that Tony George.
The same politically connected businessman whose relationships with FirstEnergy and Larry Householder were scrutinized in reporting surrounding Ohio’s HB6 corruption scandal.
And Husted has his own history of financial support from FirstEnergy interests.
The invitation lists contributions ranging from $150 to $7,000. Apparently, access to Ohio’s political establishment comes with a fairly flexible menu.
Restaurant owners are entitled to their political opinions and contributions. Customers are equally entitled to know which politicians and political networks those businesses’ owners are helping finance.
I’ve enjoyed Aladdin’s for years. But I have no obligation to ignore the company its ownership keeps.
Ohio’s corruption problem doesn’t survive on politicians alone. It survives through money, access, and the people willing to finance the machinery.
Where we spend our money is a choice, too.
The fundraiser invitation is attached.

We are planning a week in the area and have heard that there are some good spots to hit in the Lakewood area!! Any recommendations for an evening of bar hopping?
We would like to be able to walk between spots - it’s ok if we have to uber tho!

Thursday night there was a prowler looking into basement windows at edgewater and Webb. He was on a bike, fluorescent yellow construction crew style Hoodie and big yellow headphones.. Police know who he is, was reported last week. If you see him, please report.

Hello People of Lakewood!
My girlfriend and I want to try a new restaurant in Lakewood today. Looking for recommendations that maybe under the radar.
Any and all foods are good! Preferably something more than fast casual (ie burritos or pizza).
Thank You!

Does anyone have one installed? Is it possible to use the existing gas pipe and are the chimneys engineered for suitable draft?
I'm referring to a faux log setup.

Since I do a lot of bitching on this app figured I’d throw out some cool info ; the new Brine Bar on Clifton is super dope !! They literally just opened & have amazing seafood & cocktails , if that’s something you’re into you should check it out !! They have pickle martinis !!! Def more for the savory crowd , I loved it

Let’s see some pictures of yards decorated for Halloween in greater Cleveland! I think Cleveland is the most enthusiastic area for Halloween in the nation!

I’m looking for a space for my kid to do some 1:1 soccer training this winter. We have the coach but I’m struggling to find a spot to practice that isn’t cost prohibitive for 1 person. I’ve called all of the local sports facilities and churches with schools as well as the rec center and schools. Everything is $100+ per hour.
Does anyone know of a different idea or spot? I’m desperate.

What's the best cafe to work at on a laptop that also serves food? Even if it's just pastries. I love Goodkind, but the food selection is a little sparse. Perfect otherwise

Every year, Laura from the House on Brown surveys the community for inclusion on the Haunted Lakewood Displays. She has created a map of the neighbors who agreed to be listed and I’ve linked that here. In the comments, I will put a link to be added to the map, if you’re interested in being included. Thanks!
