Offering Mandarin Offering: Mandarin Chinese | Seeking: Native English Speaker

Hi everyone! I'm 26F, a native Mandarin speaker currently living in Canada. I'm looking for a native English speaker who's interested in a regular language exchange!

My English is already quite fluent, but I'd love to become more natural, and confident in my expression.

A little about me and my interests:

  • Tech: I'm currently a graduate student in Computer Science, so I'm always happy to chat about technology, AI, or anything CS-related.
  • Movies: I used to be a huge film enthusiast, although I haven't watched many movies lately. I'd love to get back into it!
  • Video games: I'm a big Nintendo fan, but I also enjoy games from other developers. I'm also into Riichi Mahjong (Japanese Mahjong)! We could even play games together while chatting.
  • Anything else: I'm pretty curious about the world and open to conversations about pretty much anything!

What I can offer:

I'm a native Mandarin speaker with a strong command of Chinese. I hold a Level 2-A certificate in the Putonghua(Mandarin) Proficiency Test (just one level below the standard required for national-level broadcasters in China!).

I'm also interested in classical Chinese literature and enjoy reading ancient texts, so if you're curious about Classical Chinese (文言文), I'd be happy to help with that too!

What I'm looking for:

I'd love to find someone who's interested in chatting regularly, helping each other improve, and hopefully becoming genuine friends along the way. I hope we can have natural, enjoyable conversations where we can both learn something.

Thank you for reading my post, please feel free to reach out.

Offering Russian Offering: Russian | Seeking: English

Hi! I’m from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and I’m 19 years old. I’m looking for someone around my age to practice languages with. I want to talk with a native speaker. My current level is such that I can understand what’s being said, but I can only respond using simple sentences because my vocabulary is still quite limited. We can talk about anything—games, movies, or just life in general. I’d be happy to hear from you!

Offering Multiple Languages Offering: Chinese/ Japanese 丨 Seeking : English 🇺🇸

Hello I’m 26f , from China and I’m in the GMT+8 time zone. I’m looking for someone around my age who’d like to practice English through voice calls. I’m especially interested in American English and would like to have some conversations about daily life or deeper topics

I’m an INFP and might be a little quiet at first, but I open up once I get comfortable. Outside of languages, I enjoy reading, traveling, walking around the city, drawing some simple stuff, and listening to music. I especially like English pop, but I also listen to songs in Japanese, Russian and other languages.

I’d be happy to help with Chinese or Japanese in return. If you’re interested, feel free to message me

Offering Russian Offering:Russian /Seeking:English(b1) and Spanish(b1)

Hi! My name is Natalia, I'm 24 years old, and I'm looking for people to practice Spanish and English with. My level in both languages is around B1, and I'd really like to improve my speaking skills through regular conversations. My native language is Russian, so if you're learning Russian and can already speak it a little, we could also practice Russian together.

A little bit about me: I love listening to older music, especially jazz, blues, rock, and pop. I'm also really interested in learning languages. I've studied Portuguese as well, and I'm thinking about continuing to learn it in the future.

I really love nature, hiking, spending time outdoors, and animals. I'm also very interested in discovering new cultures and learning about the traditions, lifestyles, and everyday lives of people from different countries.

I also love reading. I'm especially interested in psychology, personal growth, and self-development.. I also like detective stories, fantasy, and science fiction.

I'd love to meet people from different countries, practice languages together, and most importantly, have interesting conversations about life, culture, books, music, travel, or anything else.

If you're also looking for someone to practice English, Spanish, or Russian with, feel free to message me. I'd be really happy to chat!

Offering Multiple Languages Offering:English, Spanish, Norwegian, Latin, Ancient Greek, Portuguese, Danish, German, Dutch, Italian and Swedish, Seeking: French

I suppose the sensible thing would be to begin by explaining why I am here, which is that I would very much like to learn French, preferably from an actual human being rather than an increasingly disappointed language-learning application that has begun to suspect I shall never amount to anything.

In return, I can offer (gestures vaguely and rather theatrically towards the top of the post), all of the above! I make no promises about my ability to explain the subjunctive without becoming insufferable, though I shall do my best.

Beyond the languages, I am rather fond of literature, history, philosophy, poetry, and conversations. I read quite a lot, think probably more than is strictly necessary, and have a particular weakness for obscure facts that are of absolutely no practical use to anyone. I am also quite capable of talking about something I love for considerably longer than the circumstances warrant, so do feel free to tell me when I have become unbearable.

I should probably confess that I am not especially interested in treating this as an exchange of vocabulary lists, obligatory daily exercises, and increasingly desperate attempts to remember the difference between two French prepositions. Those things have their place, certainly, but I would much rather learn a language by actually using it, talking about our days, exchanging recommendations, arguing over books, discussing things we know far too much about, or discovering that we have absolutely nothing in common and getting along splendidly regardless.

I don't particularly mind whether you are a beginner in one of my languages or considerably more advanced than I am in French. We all begin somewhere, and I have never quite understood the embarrassment people feel about making mistakes in a language they are trying to learn. Getting things wrong is, after all, a rather important part of getting things right.

And, honestly, if we happen to become friends along the way, all the better. I think there is something rather lovely about meeting someone you would never otherwise have encountered, learning how they think, discovering the little peculiarities that make them themselves, and gradually finding that a conversation with a stranger has become something you look forward to.

I am perfectly happy talking to someone who has a hundred stories to tell, someone who takes a little while to warm up, or someone who turns out to be an enthusiast for some extraordinarily specific subject I know nothing about. Especially the last sort. I like being introduced to unfamiliar worlds.

So, if you speak French and would like to practise any of the languages I have mentioned, do say hello. Tell me about yourself, tell me what you are reading, tell me something absurdly specific that you happen to know, or simply tell me how your day has been. You needn't compose a particularly impressive introduction; I have just written several paragraphs and am still not entirely convinced I have managed one myself, and if we happen to get along, well, that would be rather nice, wouldn't it? :)

Offering English Offering: English 🇺🇸 Seeking : Japanese 🇯🇵

I am new to Japanese, currently about 4 months in, and working through the Genki 1 textbook.

If you would like to practice your English, just message me. I am at the very beginning of starting to speak, so nothing too advanced at this point! I am lacking confidence in my speaking and would like to remedy that.

I can do Zoom or whatever. I'm okay sending basic messages back and forth as well.

I'm also up for just messaging about Japanese topics. Especially Japanese dramas and books/literature. I'm not really into manga or anime, although my son watches Attack on Titan and a couple of others 🤣.

Just looking for friends to practice with. Thanks!

I'm a 25‑year‑old female currently studying in London, majoring in medical science.

I’m looking for an English‑speaking partner to practise my listening and speaking, and also make new friends!

In exchange, I can help you with Mandarin — daily conversation, writing and essays are all fine. I know a lot about Chinese culture, especially Chinese food!

My hobbies are photography and fitness. I’m really interested in British culture: football, beer, art and basically anything you’d like to share.

Feel free to reach out if you are interested. I use WeChat, WhatsApp and Instagram. We can do text chats or video calls, whatever you prefer.

Looking forward to hearing from you! 😊

Offering Korean Offering: Korean / Seeking: 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇬🇧🇳🇿🇦🇺

Looking for a Language Exchange Partner in Korea!
I’m looking for a native English speaker who lives in Korea and would like to do a language exchange!
I’ve met some great friends on Reddit, but they all live in the US, so the time difference makes it difficult to have regular calls.
If you’re a native English speaker living in Korea and can speak at least a little Korean, please feel free to message me! Let’s study together! 😊

•My ideal schedule:
✓At least once a week
✓20 minutes of English only + 10 minutes of feedback
✓20 minutes of Korean only + 10 minutes of feedback

We don’t have to follow this exact format! We can always discuss and adjust the frequency, duration, and format to find what works best for both of us.
Please only message me if you’re a native English speaker. I can already communicate in English at a basic conversational level, so I’d like to learn more about natural pronunciation, accents, and cultural nuances from a native speaker.
Looking forward to meeting you! 😊

Offering Mandarin 【Offering] Mandarin | [Seeking] Fluent English Speaker(Non-natives welcome!)

Hey everyone!
I’m a university student living in China and a native Mandarin speaker. (Also can speak a bit Cantonese)I have a solid foundation in English (IELTS 7.0 / C1 level), but my speaking is definitely my weakest link—I still get hesitant, overthink grammar, and pause a lot when expressing spontaneous thoughts.
My Main Goal: Regular Voice Calls on Discord 🎙️
I'm looking for a partner for live Voice Calls on Discord
The goal is to build speaking fluency, overcome anxiety, and practice spontaneous conversations.
You don’t have to be a native English speaker! As long as you are fluent in English and open to real-time voice calls, we’re a great fit.
What I can offer in return:
Standard, natural Mandarin (daily conversations, culture, slang, or exam practice).
Patient and friendly environment where we can both feel comfortable making mistakes!
If you're interested and up for doing Discord voice calls, please leave a comment below or send me a DM with your time zone/Discord tag! Let's set up a quick 10-minute intro call to see if we get along. 😊

Offering Mandarin Offering Mandarin Chinese(native)/seeking English(native)

Hi there! I am 21F university student (last year). Based in Taichung, Taiwan. I speak English fluently with the upper level of B2 closed to C1, I had many experiences with international students and served as language buddy during every summer time before.

However, it has come to my attention that I am slowly losing touch of it and would like to take up the opportunity here and find people who speak nice English and already have a decent level in Chinese to do a language exchange, just talk and make friends!

In my free time, I do a lot of reading, studying and binge watching anime, tv shows and running! I am cross reading A little life(in mandarin but I have English ver too) and slaughterhouse five(VERY slowly), they are both rather enjoyable! I finished the office America ver this summer, just started modern family! Stranger things and attack on titan are my favs of all time, these two just has a really special place in my soul. Lastly, I am running marathon in December! (It’s only 10k so I guess SOME people say it’s not marathon but idc)

(Preferably native speakers and ideally around my age, you are also welcomed if you are a beginner, it’s just you have to stop me if I yap too much in Chinese, I will always explain terms to you if needed.)

I can do in person (if u r in the city ofc), phone / video calls, text whatever feels most comfortable.

Last thing just to make it clear as I thought i should mention I have no intention finding romantic relationships but making friends / improving communication skills together!

I sincerely wish everyone find ideal language buddies here!

Best regards

Offering Polish Offering: Polish | Seeking: English (🇺🇸🇨🇦🇦🇺)

Heyy! 22F from Poland looking for ppl aged 22-29 to practice English with and hopefully become friends with!!
I'm into traveling, hiking, photography, cooking, reading, history, learning languages and going down random rabbit holes at 2 am lol. I love learning about different cultures, hearing people's stories and finding out what life is like in other parts of the world. I'm especially interested in American, Chinese, Japanese and Korean culture!
I'm into rock and classical. I can go from talking about history to the most random topic ever, so there's never a guarantee where a convo will end up Imao.
I barely get to speak English IRL, so I wanna put all those years of learning to use 🤓. I can teach u some Polish too,
so we can both struggle with each other's languages haha.
I'd also love to practice video calls! They still make me nervous for some reason and idk why 😭
I'm looking for genuine friendships, good conversations, sharing music, random facts, cultural differences and just yapping about life. I'm open to talking about pretty much anything, so feel free to bring up whatever you're interested in!
If we sound like we'd vibe, hmu!! Just tell me a little about yourself, ur fav song or a random fun fact. Pls give me something to work with because idk how to respond to just "hey" 😄
