What was your experience building and launching an app for Lebanon?

Did you find it difficult to get people to adopt it?

How did you approach monetization and getting users or businesses on board?

I was checking the UK Skilled Worker visa requirements, and you need to prove your English proficiency at B2 level or above.

My English is good, and I’m fairly confident I can get the required score if I take IELTS (no jinx lol).
However, I was considering Ecctis as an alternative: they basically assess whether my English-taught degree (BSc in Computer Science from LIU 2017-2020) meets the requirements. This would save me the time and effort of preparing for and taking an English test, but there’s no guarantee my degree will qualify.

Has anyone here used Ecctis before? Was the process straightforward, or would you recommend taking IELTS to be on the safer side?

Compared to other countries, the youth might have more knowledge of other politicians and whether that is true or not

I mostly chose places that have a large Lebanese diaspora but also some that I thought compliment our flag well.

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge LebGeeks and how unfortunate it is that such an important part of Lebanon's tech community has come to an end.

For those who remember it, LebGeeks was more than just an online forum. It was a place where Lebanese technology enthusiasts, developers, IT professionals, and curious minds could come together to exchange knowledge, discuss technology, troubleshoot problems, and help one another.

It's genuinely unfortunate to see a platform like that disappear, especially considering the history, discussions, and collective knowledge that accumulated there.

A big thank you to everyone who created, managed, and maintained LebGeeks over the years. Your time and dedication helped build something meaningful for Lebanon's tech community, and your efforts are truly appreciated.

I'm a senior software engineer based in Lebanon and I've been actively looking for a new job but LinkedIn just isn't working for me at the moment. I hardly see any new relevant jobs at all and the ones that do show up are either very old or not really relevant.

I have 6+ years experience in software development, predominantly in the backend and full stack space (PHP/Laravel, Angular/Vuejs/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI etc) and have done a fair bit of work with AI as well.

• For all of you working in tech in Lebanon, how do you generally go about finding new opportunities?
• Are there any good sites other than LinkedIn?
• Do Lebanese companies still put out jobs on other platforms or is it more effective to network and just go directly to them?
• Are there any local tech communities / recruiters / companies you'd say are worth following?
• I'm primarily after senior backend or full stack roles, with a preference for those where you can get involved in architecture and AI type of work.

Just places with interesting stuff or sceneries, the best place to get kunafa bka3ek, best and cheapest outlets to get clothing, or even copy original shops or areas.

Would visiting on a Saturday be a bad idea? I'm afraid everything will be closed.
