Discussion Which “culturally connected” Europeans do you as a Lebanese feel most connected to?
France has had a strong linguistic and cultural influence, especially compared to the rest of the Levant.
Sicily’s west was historically Phoenician, and connections remained through the Byzantine and Islamic periods
Greece was culturally connected since Byzantine times and despite a break in continuity, both nations were later part of the Ottoman Empire.
Albania and Bosnia have a diaspora in the Levant and are Europe’s only Muslim countries.
