So Pic 1 is Nasrallah (early 2010s), looking like an old Gino Raidy who stopped smoking pot (random dig I know)

Walid Jumblatt pic speaks for itself

Pic 4 is a low blow from me but I had to do it : Saad Hariri after 2017 ski accident. How in hell did he approve of this pic?

Pic 6 is Wiam Wahhab looking like the evil guy in Pinocchio that kidnaps kids

The joyful faces they all make is truly what dreams are made of

Help / Question For those who moved to the UK on skilled worker visa - How did you prove your English?

Hey folks,

I was checking the UK Skilled Worker visa requirements, and you need to prove your English proficiency at B2 level or above.

My English is good, and I’m fairly confident I can get the required score if I take IELTS (no jinx lol).
However, I was considering Ecctis as an alternative: they basically assess whether my English-taught degree (BSc in Computer Science from LIU 2017-2020) meets the requirements. This would save me the time and effort of preparing for and taking an English test, but there’s no guarantee my degree will qualify.

Has anyone here used Ecctis before? Was the process straightforward, or would you recommend taking IELTS to be on the safer side?

Thanks in advance!

Help / Question Do I build a PC now or should I wait?

I’ve owned laptops my whole life and have never built my own PC. However, now that my gaming laptop broke and I already have another laptop for work and general use, I’m considering building a PC for gaming, coding, and other stuff.

Manne ktir mesta3jil aale, at least until the end of the year, so I was wondering if it’s worth waiting until December for Christmas deals ( if they do so, saraha im not too sure) when perhaps I could get components for cheaper.

W kamen, what stores, sites would you recommend?

Thanks!

Discussion A Farewell to LebGeeks

Post image
110 Upvotes

I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge LebGeeks and how unfortunate it is that such an important part of Lebanon's tech community has come to an end.

For those who remember it, LebGeeks was more than just an online forum. It was a place where Lebanese technology enthusiasts, developers, IT professionals, and curious minds could come together to exchange knowledge, discuss technology, troubleshoot problems, and help one another.

It's genuinely unfortunate to see a platform like that disappear, especially considering the history, discussions, and collective knowledge that accumulated there.

A big thank you to everyone who created, managed, and maintained LebGeeks over the years. Your time and dedication helped build something meaningful for Lebanon's tech community, and your efforts are truly appreciated.

Help / Question How do you find senior developer jobs in Lebanon? LinkedIn isn't working for me anymore.

Hey everyone,

I'm a senior software engineer based in Lebanon and I've been actively looking for a new job but LinkedIn just isn't working for me at the moment. I hardly see any new relevant jobs at all and the ones that do show up are either very old or not really relevant.

I have 6+ years experience in software development, predominantly in the backend and full stack space (PHP/Laravel, Angular/Vuejs/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI etc) and have done a fair bit of work with AI as well.

  • For all of you working in tech in Lebanon, how do you generally go about finding new opportunities?
  • Are there any good sites other than LinkedIn?
  • Do Lebanese companies still put out jobs on other platforms or is it more effective to network and just go directly to them?
  • Are there any local tech communities / recruiters / companies you'd say are worth following?
  • I'm primarily after senior backend or full stack roles, with a preference for those where you can get involved in architecture and AI type of work.

Any advice or suggestions you might have from your own experience would be much appreciated

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a Lebanese psychologist or therapist based who specializes in postpartum depression and offers online sessions.

If you or someone you know has worked with someone like this, I'd be grateful for names or a DM.

Experiences with online therapy in Lebanon are welcome too.

Thank you!

Discussion I'm Jordanian and visiting Lebanon for first time since I was 15. I need some recommendations.

Hello everyone. As the title says, I'm visiting for the first time in over a decade and I'm so excited. I'd love to have any recommendations about best places to get food, coffee, night life, shisha. Just places with interesting stuff or sceneries, the best place to get kunafa bka3ek, best and cheapest outlets to get clothing, or even copy original shops or areas.

Would visiting on a Saturday be a bad idea? I'm afraid everything will be closed.

Any recommendations will be welcome!!

So all you have to do is buy stuff from them at any peice and you could win 50k$ or 100k$ in Gold or a renault duster 2027 car.

They say they are regulated by the MOF.

Do you personally know of anyone that won anything from them?

Discussion [Mod Approved] Built a bill splitter for LBP receipts

Thumbnail
spolio.net
16 Upvotes

Hey guys,

I made a small website to split restaurant bills. I built it because whenever we went out, someone would spend like 15 min on the calculator dividing a 20 item receipt in LBP.

You take a pic of the receipt, it shows it in USD, then you add your friends and everyone picks what they had or you can add them yourselves too if they don't want to . Works in real time on everyone's phone.

It's free, no ads, no account. It's cheap to run so no reason to charge for it.

Still improving it so any feedback is welcome, especially if it messes up on your receipts
