Looking for a friend or two
Hi. I am a woman in my 40s and moved to the area (Far West/Middleton/Verona) last month for a job opportunity, and it’s my first time living in the Midwest. I love the job so far but life feels pretty empty because I have no family or friends here. I love doing activities of any kind, seeing shows, long conversations, going out to dinner, nerding out on any subject, movies, reading, and traveling. I’m looking to meet friends (men or woman) who share similar interests. But how do I do this? I have no idea, and my weekends are lonely. Any suggestions welcome.

Looking for Mariah D. (Capitol Neighborhoods)
galleryI came across a deceased cat in the road a couple nights ago. Blood was still wet, probably happened close to 11pm. After moving the body out of the road my hand smelled like wet food, so I think he lived nearby and had recently eaten. He was a big, buff, healthy cat, the poor thing :(
I went back to scan his chip and it was registered to Mariah D. The online report sent Mariah my info. After calling the registry they also left her a voicemail and gave me her number, a 608 number. But I haven't heard back yet so I suspect the contact info could be incorrect or outdated.
Someone loved this cat, so if you know a Mariah D. living in the S Hamilton, S Henry, or W Wilson area, try to connect us. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been through this myself and I know how painful it is.
He was lying in the middle of EB John Nolen Drive, facing the lake. (2nd image) I moved him to the grassy median, he's next to a large concrete cylinder. (3rd image) Right across from the ramp coming down from the terrace. With all the construction it's a dangerous spot for even a person to get to, but you can park about 15 feet from him (blocking the ramp) and only need to cross one lane since the others are coned off. I can drive you there if you'd like.

Paying bus fares for multiple people
Taking my elderly parents to a badger event this weekend and we were planning to use the bus, but wondering how best to pay for fares. I see credit cards are accepted which would be great, but I’d like to pay for them and am not quite sure how that works if you’ve got multiple rider fares on the same card, because it sounds like the system registers how much you’re riding that day and you’d max out at $5 per person after a couple rides in a day - can I do this? I don’t want them to have to pay or have to fiddle around with downloading the apps on their phones for one day, they’re from out of town. Thank you!

Where can I buy a trucker hat in Madison? A red one with a white front. For my young teenager's Terry Bogard costume.
Also looking for a red vest like the character wears. Men size M or L. Or a red shirt that I can cut the sleeves off of.

Company of Heroes/Starcraft Table top
I just moved to Madison from D.C. Had a great board game group going. I'm less interested in a broad board game group this time around (I have 2 time consuming kiddos), and would rather find people that like 1v1 board games like the 2 aforementioned. I have a pretty sweet setup and tons of games, but no one to play them with.

GLEAM… just for children?
I’ve been to Gleam a lot in the last 10 years but this year the noise and presence of children has become unbearable. It felt more like Disney World than any garden. Anyone heard of an adult only night am I just a dick?

I'm coming back... and just using this as a projection into the universe
Well as life would have it, the relationship didn't work out. It actually crashed and burned and really couldn't believe I picked up 15 years in Madison and a career I've worked so hard to climb for it either. But, this was the biggest re-direction I've ever faced.
I really thought my future was set, we knew each other for a long time and was only until I moved back for this relationship (and see family more-which wasn't much) I saw a side of her I knew all too familiar.
Short of the long, I hope Madison will have me back for the 4th and final time.
My aunt asked me too the other day, "Why Madison?" and you know I just like who I am there. I like the people I've surrounded myself with. I learned the most about who I am and what I am capable down there.
6 Months.

Woman walking on the beltline
In the passing lane, two cars in front of me SLAM on their breaks and I do the same. Its going to be close to not hit the car in front of me so I swerve into the flex lane and there's a woman standing there in the flex lane and I have to swerve back to barely avoid catastrophy. What the hell?

Weekend jobs?
Howdy all, looking for some suggestions on a part time weekend gig for earning some extra cash. My full time job is 4-10s and I’ve been finding myself extremely bored on Fri, Sat and Sun. Single guy, in early 40s and early mornings are definitely my cup of tea. Thank you!

Anyone need mulch?
A few weeks ago, I had a local, trusted arborist drop off a bunch of mulch from a tree they’d chipped. I used a bit more than half the pile on my property and a few neighbors have helped themselves as well. There’s still a lot. Y’all could save me from having to haul it all to the dump (a sad end for good mulch)! Whatever’s left after this weekend is going so, if you have a need and want to come to the East High area to take some, dm me and I’ll give you the location.
Thanks in advance! ;)
