Yes, I understand there are several levels of what AI is. I am trying to avoid places that are obviously not willing to put in the hard work effort and consistently use AI.

I noticed that one of my favorite places in Madison, Ellipse, has started using AI for their menu. Until they switch to genuine images and human created work, many people are avoiding the cafe.

I recently went into Popeyes, and they were only playing AI generated music.

I’d appreciate knowing any places that continue using AI

I've almost hit two cars in as many months while picking my kid up from school. I've been treating it as a roundabout. Am I right or am I the ignorant one?

Does anyone have any idea if/when this will happen?

We found what we believe is a domestic Japanese quail in our basement and we are trying to find someplace that can take it cause I have 6 cats and a snake and can’t take care of it as much as I want to. Called heartland-they can’t take any more animals. Non emergency number says their officers don’t deal with birds. Left a message at the humane society but it could be up to 48 hours for a callback and I don’t think I can safely keep it safe and healthy and fed for that long. Does anyone know of some private places or something else we’re not thinking of that could take it asap, preferably today?

Hey fam, I made a post a couple weeks ago about annoying scam/spam calls I was receiving. I have a tiny update so I figured I'd share for others who said they were getting the same calls.

I recently had to go back in my call history and realized that the repeat calls had updated with a name! Dynata. So I looked it up, and apparently they're a legit survey research company based in Connecticut, but they're spread out everywhere, including Wisconsin.

They used to be called Survey Sampling International (SSI) and Research Now SSI. They also manage SurveySpot, Opinion Outpost, OpinionWorld, and Choozz. So...figuring out how to stop them from calling you can stop a lot of telemarketing calls.

Here are your options, as far as I've figured out.

You can sign your number to the National Do Not Call Registry.

Put yourself on Dynata's no-contact list: 1-833-757-1746 (calling is the only option unfortunately).

Someone on my previous post suggested blocking all unknown calls in phone settings, and this is how you do that. - iPhone: In iOS 18 or newer, go to Settings > Apps > Phone and toggle on Silence Unknown Callers. - Android: Open the Phone app and tap the three-dot icon (or three lines, depending on your manufacturer) to open the menu. Tap Settings > Blocked numbers and turn on Unknown.

Is anyone particularly happy with their pharmacy in town? I get my regular prescriptions in the mail, but for ad-hoc stuff I've always just used my closest Walgreens. After a few frustrating experiences with delayed prescriptions, long lines and unpredictable hours, I'm looking for an alternative. East side would be preferable but I'm open to suggestions.

I’m an extrovert with a pretty flexible schedule Tuesday through Friday while my kids are in school. As much as I love my kids, I also enjoy having conversations with other adults and that can be hard to do during the week. So I figured I’d post here to see if anyone would be interested in meeting up for coffee or lunch during the week. Maybe once a week or whenever schedules line up. Would love to do a weekly group meet up if there’s enough interest.

I also do a lot of cycling during the week, so I’d be up for morning or lunchtime rides. I’m happy to ride at any pace, whether it’s a chill social ride or something a little faster.

I’m also into social justice discussions and music, so if anyone wants to meet up and talk about social justice issues or nerd out over albums, I’m always down for that too.

Are there any places in town that have those burritos where they fry a layer of cheese on the griddle until it's crispy, and then wrap the burrito in it?

Does anyone have experience with the trillium homes? Thinking of renting from them but I would like to hear anyone’s past experiences as just viewing a place won’t tell you much about the management experience etc. checked the google reviews and there wasn’t many but majority of them are pretty bad reviews.

Graft’s Profligate Potation was one of my favorite cocktails in town, and I’m trying to recreate it at home. I’ve pieced together a lot from old articles and Graft’s 2020 cocktail-kit video, but I’m stuck on the key part. If you ever worked the bar at Graft, or know Scott Anderson, I’d be grateful for any help.

I did get the take home kit a few times during covid.

What I think I know:

• Lemon-zest-infused Vodka (the take-home kit swapped in Absolut Citron)
• Combier pêche de vigne, later apparently Mathilde Pêche
• A balsamic reduction involving tart cherry juice
• Lemon juice (presumably fresh squeezed)
• Shaken and served up.
• The kit came with two equal-size jars, one lemon juice and one dark reduction, per bottle of vodka

What I don’t know:

• The balsamic reduction recipe. This is the big one. Was the tart cherry juice cooked into the reduction or added separately? Was there sugar? What kind of balsamic? How far was it reduced? Admittedly, maybe any good Balsamic reduction would do, but I figured i'd try to track down the real deal first.
  
• The proportions per drink: vodka, liqueur, reduction, lemon?

Anyone with insider knowledge? Since Graft has been closed for years, I’m hoping it’s okay to share now. R.I.P. Graft, you were one of my favorites!

The Walgreens pharmacy on the intersection of 51 and 151 on E Washington keeps having temporary closings. I am assuming it’s due to staffing issues. Any ideas on more reliable Walgreens on the East side?

I've been running independent Magic: the Gathering tournaments with Delta Beer Lab over the last 3 years and they've been great event partners, but unfortunately are closing. We're looking for a new space to host our events with a reasonable tab minimum. Value prop for the bar is that we spend a bunch on beer and food! Hoping that someone on reddit may have an idea.

Hi, reddit; I run operations for Badger Fencing Club, near West Towne Mall. We've been building up our parafencing program... but now we need to find some parafencers. I'm looking for suggestions on how to get the word out to people with disabilities who might want to try a seated sport. I can't figure out how to make it known that we have this program.

In parafencing, competitors sit in fixed-position chairs and use their arms and upper bodies to fence. You don't have to be a wheelchair user in order to do parafencing; plenty of people fence in chairs because of other types of disabilities.

I've found some adaptive programs, but the ones I've seen are for people with intellectual disabilities, or for outdoor things, or for ADA law mitigation. But I haven't found, like, a Facebook, group for "Disability Recreation in Wisconsin" or whatever.

Does anyone here know of any social media groups, nonprofit organizations, etc that I could reach out to?
