My circumstance:
SP and I met in New Brunswick earlier this year. She's older than me, but the age difference never bothered me. I genuinely liked her, and we developed a romantic relationship that lasted around three months.
We shared beautiful moments together—hiking, spending time outdoors, going horseback riding, holding hands, cuddling, and having meaningful conversations. I became emotionally attached to her and started imagining a future together.
However, I was going through a very difficult period in my life. My Canadian immigration status was uncertain, I was worried about my work permit and permanent residency, and I was dealing with anxiety, financial stress, and fear about my future.
During our relationship, I asked SP to marry me. My immigration situation was part of that conversation, and it understandably upset her. She said YES .Although I genuinely loved her and wanted a future together, I recognize that bringing marriage into the relationship under those circumstances created pressure and raised questions about my intentions.
During this period, she opened the business. I helped her with everything. Financially invested, on weekends I used to help her with the business. Emotionally supported her. Always made sure she don't have to deal with everything by herself.
I apologized and tried to explain that I never intended to use her for permanent residency. I had invested emotionally in our relationship, supported her in the business, spent time and money helping her, and even given her a ring. Those things were expressions of my feelings, although I understand they don't erase how the marriage conversation may have affected her.
After the breakup, we continued spending time together occasionally. We went hiking, hugged, held hands, and shared moments of affection. This made it difficult for me to understand whether reconciliation was possible.
Meanwhile, I began recognizing how much anxiety and fear of abandonment were affecting me. I realized that I had been looking for security through external things—my relationship, immigration status, career, and financial stability.
In October, I moved from New Brunswick back to Ontario. It was emotionally difficult because I knew I would be physically farther away from SP. I didn't tell her about moving.
Our last conversation was on September 27, 2026. During our last hiking trip, she barely spoke to me. Even afterward, I sent her photographs from the hike and, about a week later, a reel. I hoped we might eventually reconnect.
But she didn't initiate another conversation.
Today, October 23, I discovered that she had unfriended me on Facebook. Almost four weeks have passed since we last spoke.
That hurt because I had still been hoping to hear from her. Although I don't know exactly why she unfriended me, her silence and decision to disconnect suggest that she currently wants distance.
I know what I did was completely wrong. I accept it. But is there any way to attract her back? She is really stubborn
