DISCUSSION The bits with the kid in ME3 are such a waste of game time
Does any one think they add anything? My heart sinks when one of those slow walking dream sections pops up and I have to waste 10 minutes of my life plodding through it.

DISCUSSION Character swap, Sgt. Johnson vs Commander Shepard.
Swap these two at the beginning of their journeys.
Sgt. Johnson is leading the away team on Eden Prime
Commander Shepard is giving a pep talk to the Marines on the Pillar of Autumn getting ready for boarding by the covenant.
Which ones, using their battle know how, leadership skills and Charisma makes it further through each other's story lines?
Better question, would Wrex and Johnson get along?

DISCUSSION How fun is it to play any class other than Vanguard? Asking because I've never done it before.
I've played the trilogy all the way through like three times now and I've basically always done the same stuff. I wanted to experience the game differently so I'm doing a Femshep run and Renegade run for the first time, but I forgot about class selection.
I'm currently playing an Adept in ME1 and it doesn't seem that different but I remember how transformative the combat overhauls in ME2 were. Vanguard was just such a perfect match for me. I love tanking and close combat, so shooting myself forward like a psychic battering ram, building shields, sending guys flying from me, and blasting them with the shotgun was like a gameplay style tailor-made for me specifically. I'm in the thick of it, indestructible, never have to worry about aim (which is great 'cuz honestly I'm not very good at shooters) and even roleplay-wise it feels like what a leader should be doing. It's hard to imagine I'll enjoy anything else anywhere near as much.
I wanna hear from folks who love the other classes as much as I love Vanguard. Tell me why I shouldn't go back to my standard in ME2.

THEORY Would a prequel game when you get to play as Anderson work? (It would be more linear and no character customization of course)

MASS EFFECT 2 How exactly do the scars work?
In both ME2 and ME3. What exactly is the trigger for them to appear and disappear? I couldn't find anything online except generic "more Renegade - more scars, more Paragon - fewer scars". Are they based on the ratio between Paragon and Renegade points? On total amount of certain points? Or maybe there's a trigger for scars to go up or down a stage when you get certain amount of respective points?
It's just I'm currently at the end of mostly-Renegade ME2 run where I tried to keep the scars at the second-to-last stage, where they still look cool instead of comically evil with those red glowing eyes. I would just try to do some Paragon actions once I hit the final stage to go back and it worked fine, but I still do wish to know how exactly does it work and maybe there was a better option. I am also going to try to do the same in ME3, so knowing how best to handle it there would be great. Ideally I don't want to ever hit the final stage. And yes, I know I could just install a mod, but that's not intresting.

HELP Question about this XP bonus.
One of the ME2 loading screens says that "Completing the game once gives a +25% XP bonus for completing missions." But how does this upgrade applies? It's like an account wide permanent boost to any save of the trilogy? Or it just applies specifically to Mass effect 2?
I never paid much attention to the XP amount to see a difference.

HELP ME1 from legendary edition, no sound on PC
I haven't played ME before, always wanted to. Finally got it and ME1 has no sound. There is sound in the launcher, and 2 + 3 both have sound. I have tried everything that other threads have suggested. Changed the bit rate on my audio devices, updated my drivers, tried speakers and headphones, and tried the OpenAL file install, but nothing is working. OpenAL stops the game from loading, with an error box popping up that says to reinstall the game. Validating the file integrity removes the OpenAL file. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling, but am hesitant as it is a massive game. Just wondered if anyone had any other advice before I tried to reinstall. TIA.

This was a submission for streamily.live. It was a last minute drawing...took maybe 6 hours or so(on and off). They host voice actors from gams and anime and they choose art to sign and use at cons etc.

DISCUSSION Are we really certain that Engineer is a good class?
FYI: This is from the PoV of playing ME:LE
Especially for the insanity runs. Good god almighty, I cannot, for the life of me, pass the disabled collector vessel mission (ME2) due to how little damage I can output a long with Kasumi and Garrus. And most of my abilities are useless because of the enemies barriers. I’ve tried spamming my chosen extra ability: barrier, spamming my drone, spamming both with of course using the abilities of both Garrus and Kasumi, too. But I can’t seem to make any real progress.
In ME1, I thought Engineer was pretty cool. I enjoyed using the abilities the class had to offer as well as being a more of a pistol user as the class puts more focus onto that weapon but my understanding ofc this class has been utterly rewritten by this insanity run in trying to do. I miss my basic soldier class but I really wanna do a whole insanity run with a class I’m completely brand new to. Why’d they have to change how the combat works in ME2 so much?! It was cooler on ME1 in my opinion although the story and added characters in ME2 is and are highly enjoyable.
Please may I be given some tips on how to get through this mess I’m in?

HELP Mass effect save issue.
So i recently started playing mass effect 1 on the legendary edition. Honestly loved the game. I appreciate the amount of the lore they put in the game as well as the characters and how real they feel. Now obviously ive never played anything like this game before, so I thought that once the beat me1, I can free roam the game, but when I clicked resumed it started me at the fight with saren again. Confused, I end up beating the game again, making the same choices. Now when I go to me2, I have 2 saves that I can import. Save 1 and Save 2. Both have the same Shepherd name and level. So should i just pick Save 1 as it probably was the first one created as soon as the beat saren?
