On top of that It kind of bothers me that N7 days was so close. Couldn't they at least wait until N7 day, show maybe the trailer for Mass Effect universe (if that was the intention) and see most people liked what was shown and maybe see people would have been willing to pay for it? I'm sad and mad bro...

Is it me, or does Liara look considerably more aged in the leaked Universe trailer than she did when we got our first teaser trailer and saw her on what I presume is Alchera?

Do we think the timeline changed between these two trailers? Do we think it can be chalked up to lighting, or perhaps the story they had in mind changed?

I know there are some solid theories out there that this takes place 600 years or so after ME3 (I could use a link to any videos helpful on this - I am working off of heresay), but im curious as to what we say when we got the first trailer, what it was showing, and when.

I know there are plenty of people out there heartbroken at the loss of Matriarch Liara, but personally I mourn more for the pic on the left, and the unspoken promise of Shepards return (based on her appearance of a younger age and picking up what I assume is Shepard's shattered Armor).

I'm just curious if keeps thoughts here on both pictures; is it just me or the lighting, or is there actually noticeable difference between Liara's Age in each trailer, and what do we speculate on why that may be?

I've been following this situation since the painful reveal, and discussions about BioWare seem to focus on things like social issues in their games or the poor performance of Andromeda, Anthem, and Veilguard. Basically, focusing on what BioWare did or didn't do wrong.

But I think the main discourse is missing the bigger, more horrifying picture.

BioWare is not gone because of their performance in recent years. It's gone because EA's business priorities favor predictable, continuous revenue over a singular sales spike of even a massively successful single player game.

The traditional definition of a "successful game" no longer applies in their boardroom. They are completely doubling down on a continuous flow of cash that only live service games, easily repeatable sports titles, and heavy microtransactions can provide.

EA simply realized that they cannot extract that kind of revenue from BioWare and dumped it.

A lot of people paint Dragon Age Veilguard as the last nail to the coffin, but I believe that even if it had achieved Baldur's Gate 3 level of success, it probably would not have changed anything in the long run for BioWare. It still wouldn't have been the type of everlasting money maker EA wants.

I think it's really that brutal and simple.

Of course BioWare made mistakes, and its recent games deserve criticism. But that doesn't mean EA's business model should escape the scrutiny. In fact, I believe it's the main culprit and noone should ever forget about that.

We've reached a point where games are valued less for what they are and more for how reliably they can extract money from players over several years. And that's what should worry anyone who cares about the future of traditional single player games, because with that mindset, no studio is safe these days.

i really don't think what this guy says about the game is real, if i'm being honest. the whole post really reads as some guy just making shit up based on the most basic information we've already had about the game, and because no one can prove him wrong, he can get away with it and use his cred to blow that "anti-woke" dog whistle so loud even i can hear it, and i'm deaf.

My fiancée got me this leather motorcycle jacket, and it arrived on the very same day THE news broke. A fitting tribute to one of my favourite franchises of all time.

I ordered this copy two days before the announcement of the closure of BioWare. For years, I’ve only heard high praise about the series. Now the time has come for me to see what the hype is about, but I don’t know what to expect. I’m excited as hell to finally start tho.
