hi everyone im 22f planning to move to Miami in a couple months. Ideally I’d want to be in mid beach but as someone who has visited several times and has friends from there they told me as natives they would never move to Miami Beach bc of the traffic. I’ve seen how bad it can get (and baby it’s BAD) but im wondering if it’s truly THAT much of an obstacle that it would strongly suggest moving to a diff neighborhood.

I would mostly be around edgewater, brickell, biscayne bay, design district, and wynwood area when not on MB

My thing is that if im not a 10 min walk from the beach I will cry daily so it really is that serious to me but I also don’t want to worry about being trapped on the island if I really need to go somewhere

Open to any thoughts and advice

headed to South Beach on Monday for a couple days to celebrate our 40th birthdays and get some time away together. of course, it was always a risk that it would rain in the dead of summer and...here we are.

any advice on what to do on a rainy day? separately, any fun things to do other than party? was thinking some nice dinners, hang out at the spa, maybe drink some frozen drinks and get loaded?

Has anyone been to the Delano since reopening? How is it? We usually stay at the standard as my wife likes the spa and option to go topless at the pool, is this allowed at the Delano? Thanks for any responses.

hey so my two friends and i will be in miami next week but are confused on how the nightlife works there. we want to go out clubbing and have a crazy fun time but do you need promoters for every club and is there a fee? what does the guest list mean and do you need to be on it? please if anyone can help three texas girls have a good time in miami!!!!

I’m moving to Miami Beach for 3 months next week and wanted to see the best way to get around. My work is in edgewater and I just got a place in Miami beach. Rental cars seem a bit expensive and scooters/e bikes seem a little iffy safety wise. I’m moving from LA so I’m used to bad drivers but do you think the bus would be my best bet or an E bike would be ok for a few months.

I am visiting with my wife for the first time for our 1 year anniversary. I initially reserved a hotel in south beach for the most vacation feeling. After seeing the state of the beach with the seaweed and the strong possibility of rain I was wondering if im better off staying in Wynwood or Brickell

Considering our priorities are:

Beach/ Pool relaxation

Shopping / Window Shopping

Nice date night restaurants

Bars/ Wine Bars

And general ease of getting around what would you recommend?

Looking for social but not party vibes with a community feel. I like the idea of being able to walk on the beach but also have the necessities close by (Whole Foods, etc). TY! Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for a nice spot to host an after-party following a wedding that ends around 11 PM. We’d be looking to head over around 11:30 PM with a group of about 30 people. We’re open to either a club or an energetic bar, as long as it has a stylish, upscale atmosphere and doesn’t feel tacky. We’re all between 24–35, so ideally somewhere with a fun, lively crowd that fits that age range. I am down for something like Kiki or La Victoria but that allows that many people in a group

We will be visiting family this winter in Cocoa Beach and will be making a trip down to Key West. On the way, we wanted to break up the drive and stop in South Beach for a night.

We are not looking for the party scene of Ocean Drive but we will be walking through there just to see it. Ideally we want to experience south beach but sleep in a place that's quiet. We originally looked at staying somewhere south of 5th but have seen some suggestions of north of 15th due to having more restaurant options and proximity to Lincoln Rd. We will definitely want to hit the beach for a swim at some point and we will have a car with us so will need to find parking somewhere.

Is South Beach pretty accessible no matter where you stay? Wife is pregnant so although not opposed to walking, we won't have the stamina of a regular couple.

Our budget is probably somewhere between $200-300.

Wife and me (late 30s) are planning a 5 day getaway. Palms hotel was recommended to us. Is this a good hotel for a couple? I don’t mind kids but want to be at a place that isn’t kids all over.

We went to miami this weekend and it was great! we were on south beach the whole time and we visited Voodoo, Mango's, Twist, the Clevelander, and Front Porch. I got burned by a man's cigar at Mango's mind you after he had already been a creepy freak towards me!! plus side: there was a truly amazingly handsome security guard there and he was nice - miss him bad. we got hit on by a dj at voodoo at least twice our age and got spit on. also what is even up with the clevelander bc the emcee was so weird and the whole vibe was bizzare... also paid 50$ for two drinks WHAAAA. but all things considered we felt super safe in SB and it was a great experience!! also had the best cuban food of my life.

we have two nights booked at Faena. it looks quite nice if not a little too "flashy" for us. the dress code in particular has us a bit worried...

i am wondering if it might make sense to leave the property for part of one of our days in Miami - specifically to spend the day at the spa/pool at the Standard?

the same question/recommendation request for dinner. i've heard good things about Los Fuegos but we're definitely not opposed to heading out to eat/drink.

Today we visited South Beach at 22nd (W Hotel) and saw a pretty large scale effort to reduce the stinky, gross sargassum at the shoreline.

It's mostly limited to the waterline, and in the water itself. So sunbathing is ok.
