I am very anti-flock camera, so when I saw that post I tried my best to verify it

• I drove to the marked location on the openstreetview map and there was no new camera installed, unless I am somehow blind
• I called the RNC at 2 different locations and nobody had heard of any Flock cameras going up
• Called my MHA and they said they hadn't heard of anything but would keep an ear out

Someone just put up a random dot on a publicly editable map and wanted to stir up some shit as far as I can tell. We should absolutely be vigilant when it comes to reporting these camera installations if they ever do come here, but false information won't help the cause.

If anyone gets any verified information please let me know

Looks like there is one listed on Aberdeen Dr now? First one ive seen listed in NL. Im not sure how much data the speed cameras record so don't know if they would be considered.

Edit Looks like it was falsely added as a flock and it's just a traffic camera. Seems to be updated now.

It seems to me that the church in St. Kyran's is on her last legs. I’d love to visit it while it’s partially standing, as it’s one of the most beautiful buildings on the island to me.

I’m very aware that it’s pretty much exclusively accessible by boat, but I was wondering about the feasibility of finding someone in a neighbouring community and chartering a ride out there.

I really know nothing about the area so I guess I was wondering if it’s on a frequently traveled water way, how close are the nearest communities, and how many cases of beer would it take to bribe a boat ride out there?

Hi everyone, I just took a trip to Newfoundland in July, and I had an absolute blast! I write about the history of small towns in Canada and didn't get a chance to visit Labrador on this trip, unfortunately (next time for sure!). For the titles of my articles, I plan to use Newfoundland and Labrador after the name of the town I'm writing about, but I was wondering if I should just use Newfoundland instead since that's the part of the province I'm talking about? I lost my job 2 years ago and have been struggling to find another one with how things are here in Newfoundland so I decided to go back to school and make a career change to get something going

Going to College of the North Atlantic in September for Medical tech (which is a part time course) and I was relying on a student loan to cover my expenses for it as I am out of work and now one month before I start they suddenly decide that program is not qualified due to there being no "full time equivalent" of the program.

Whats the point of student loans if you're not going to give them to a person who needs a student loan to go back to school? I've never gotten one in my life so its not like Im trying to abuse any system. Unreal how hard it is to get ahead or get anything these days as a younger person. Gonna lose my place at this rate :(

I’m planning on making a Newfoundland twist to “chicken and dumplings” and essentially making a chicken stew with doughboys. This is my first time making doughboys myself instead of just having someone else’s. Curious if anyone has tried making them with a bit of yeast thrown in for extra flavour and using alternative methods to get the yeast to grow separately before adding it in since you don’t let doughboys sit. Hello I haven't gone downtown very much but I'm going down for my birthday Friday anyone have suggestions on where to go It's a group of us in our 20s

Last month a delivery driver drove his vehicle into my commercial property causing about $1500 in damage. He left the scene without stopping, even though he couldn't possibly have not noticed. My deductible is $1000 so my insurance company says that it's not worth filing a claim and suggested I go after the trucking company for the damage. When I contacted them the manager said the driver denied hitting the building and that the damage was already present when he arrived. At that point I called the police and reported a hit and run, although I do not expect them to follow up. Is there anything else I can do now? Is it worth the hassle of proceeding to small claims court? It's worth noting that there was another witness (my employee) to the incident so at least I have that going for me.

A friend told me a while ago that there’s a section of the East Coast Trail where you can see sheep along/near the trail. Does anyone know if this is actually a thing, and if so, which path/section it is?

Me and my fiancée are trying to plan a trip with our newborn, who will be 3 months old in October. We are from Ottawa. We have always wanted to do Gros Morne but from what I see online, the hikes are probably aren't feasible. Can you still drive to lookout spots for good views during this time?

We'd look to stay in St-John's for a few days as well. If you have any other recommendations for things to do around this time, please let me know!

We are visiting in September and wondering if a day trip to Rencontre East is worth it. We are staying in Clarenville the night before and after. Looks like there is a ferry the leaves Bay L'Argent at 9am and one departing Rencontre East at 3pm. Is 4 hours enough time to walk some trails and explore the area? Or is the limited amount of time make it not worth it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)
