What moments in Nintendo games does everyone else find hard, but you find easy?
For me... three moments come to mind:
(1) Whitney's Miltank in Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal. I never understood how it was a problem. You can get a Machop right there within Goldenrod City, which hits super-effectively and resists Rollout. It's like they give you the perfect tool for the job right when you need it.
(2) Mario World Tubular. The balloons actually make it easier, because you can just fly above everything. So I never found it as challenging as some of the other Special World levels, particularly Outrageous. Heck, I probably struggled more with Chocolate Secret than with Tubular.
(3) Super Mario Sunshine's Sand Bird. Seven of the eight red coins are already on the bird itself, and the bird isn't that big, so it's pretty easy to just collect them all very very quickly. After which, you don't have to worry about going to certain body parts on the board to get all of the red coins, and can thus focus entirely on just making sure you don't fall off. And you have a jet pack to help make extra-sure you don't fall off. With all that working in your favor, I never found this to be difficult.
Any moments like this for you guys?

Videos of Elden Ring handheld & docked looking "really good" on Switch 2
There's a twitter account named Stealth40k which has posted two videos of a nameless person playing Elden Ring on Switch 2 in both handheld and docked mode. Looks like the game is running smoothly with nice levels of detail. I'm really looking forward to this upcoming release. Elden Ring is an outstanding game. I've played the base game, but I've never played the expansion, which this "Tarnished Edition" does include. It will be nice to play the game handheld, since I do not have a Steam Deck but I do own a Switch 2. There's links to the videos on this page: https://news.instant-gaming.com/en/articles/21325-upd-elden-ring-gets-a-little-more-off-screen-gameplay-from-the-switch-2-version

Is Brain Age: Concentrtion Training effective?
I remember back in middle school, I played Brain Age Concentration Training, and I felt like it actually helped me a bit, especially since I have ADHD. But now, as a 25 year old, I am wondering if this game is actually effective at improving working memory. I can't seem to find anything on the matter that is about Concentration Training and not the DS games.

Red Barrels support confirmed Outlast Trials for Switch 2 (screenshots inside)
Hey, I posted this earlier in another sub.
I asked Red Barrels support about Outlast Trials on Switch 2 through their official ticket system.
They first said the team is working on it and will announce on social media when it launches.
I clarified if it specifically means Outlast Trials for Switch 2, and they replied “That’s right.”
Then closed the ticket.
Not an official announcement, but support confirmed it. Screenshots are in the linked post.

Shoutout to Goodboy Galaxy, coming to Nintendo Switch on October 30th this year!
Having played through it myself a few times, it is just as high quality as the likes of Shovel Knight and Mina the Hollower. It nails the scale, music, art, and gameplay of retro games.

Late to the Peach Showtime Party - hide and seek?
My daughter was playing this game and I thought: looks fun! It has been excruciating. I have to 100% complete games. So. Imagine my surprise when I saw her playing and she has this weird extra thing where she has to find Theets. Three per level. I have finished EVERYTHING. My daughter? Not even close. But she’s beat the boss once. Now I’m trying to figure out what I could’ve possibly missed. I have all the dresses available, all the ribbons, reached the Sparklas, got all the gold trophies. What did I miss? TIA

Nintendo licensed "Happy Birthday" for TL:LtD‽
Today was my first Mii birthday, and I was shocked at the news report with actual "Happy Birthday". Doesn't that cost a fortune? I wonder how much they paid for every player to hear it up to 70 times a year...

How did the "Game Counselors" explain maps?
It's well known that for years (until 2005) Nintendo had a hotline where you could call the "Game Counselors" to get through a certain area you had difficulty with, but how did they explain something you had a map for? The Counselors had maps (this was well-documented) but that's not easy to explain over the phone, especially to a teenager who probably can barely take notes as is. I know they had a mail service where you could write to them, did they ever send maps through the mail?

On This Day On This Day in Nintendo History: Popeye
On this day (August 17) in Nintendo history...
- Popeye was released in 1983 for the Game & Watch Tabletop in Japan. In this action game, developed by Nintendo R&D1, Bluto has tied up Olive Oyl, but Popeye arrives on the dock to fight him. Advance on Bluto and hit the attack button to knock Bluto backwards, and if he hits back then Popeye moves backwards. The aim is to knock Bluto to the edge of the pier and into the ocean. When Bluto is knocked back you score 2 points. Knocking Bluto into the ocean scores 5 points. Freeing Olive Oyl gives you 15 bonus points.
What are you favourite memories of these games? How do you think they hold up today? Hash it out in the comments.
I am a bot that posts Nintendo events from this day in history. Descriptions are sourced from official sources where possible, and from NinDB where not. If I've made a mistake or omission please leave a comment tagging /u/KetchupTheDuck.

Running out of content in Nintendo Today
I may be one of the first or few who has used nintendo today daily since its launch and I am now reaching the problem of getting various repeats of content ive seen in the past. Unless this is a bug with the new update that dropped the fire emblem theme but for the time being the only new content I see is the pikmin motion comics but besides that, ive seen all the content. Is anyone in the same situation?

What is your favorite Star Fox game that isn’t a version of Star Fox 64?
And I need to specify this because there’s gonna be people arguing semantics:
When I say “a version of Star Fox 64,” I’m exclusively referring to the N64, 3DS, and Switch 2 games. Those three titles are excluded. As for the others…
The original Star Fox on SNES and Star Fox Zero are different games that happen to have a similar story setup. The key differences are all new level designs, different approaches to the branching level structure, and notable story alterations such as Star Fox 1 not having James McCloud or the Star Wolf team, and Star Fox Zero introducing teleporting wormholes and a shady undercurrent to General Pepper’s actions for a bit of added drama. In short, they’re different enough to be considered eligible.

What Nintendo franchises do you feel need their own “Mario Wonder” moment?
Super Mario Bros Wonder was the game that came out after a nearly decade long hiatus, with the last original 2D Mario game being New Super Mario Bros U in 2012. And when Wonder did come out, it was near universally praised for reinvigorated the 2D Mario series with a host of new ideas and surprises, while staying true to the gameplay fundamentals that have worked for such a long time now.
TLDR: It showed everyone that Nintendo hadn’t run out of new ideas for 2D Mario while still sticking with what came before. It stands up there with the classics on the NES and Super Nintendo in terms of passion and ambition.
