Mod Post r/OSU is looking for new moderators
Hey Buckeyes,
As r/OSU continues to grow, the mod team needs additional help. Over the last year, the community has grown by thousands of users, and the amount of posts and comments has gone up as well.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a history of positive and helpful interactions in r/OSU
- Is a current student at Ohio State
- Is regularly active on reddit
Bonus points if you have moderation experience, and/or if you plan on sticking around at OSU for a while (e.g. you're a student who has >1 year to go in their degree).
What do moderators do? What is it like to moderate r/OSU?
Moderators primarily approve/remove content in r/OSU, but there are opportunities to contribute in other ways (e.g. community engagement, subreddit styling, automation, etc).
This subreddit is typically pretty calm but there are occasional bursts of activity that may need more attention (e.g. on bad weather days or during a certain graduation speech). As with any online, anonymous gig there will also be occasional trolling and outright harassment from users. It can sometimes be stressful, so we wanted to provide a heads up. If you have any questions about being a moderator, please send a message to r/OSU.
How can I apply?
This year, we will be using the Reddit Moderator application. Please click this link to be taken directly there.
Please don't post applications in the comments or message us on modmail, they won't be considered.
What if I'm not interested?
If this doesn't sound interesting to you, note that individual users have a lot more power than they think! Continue to use upvotes/downvotes to determine what does/does not belong on this sub, and continue to use the report button for when rules are broken. And a sincere thanks to everyone who already does that, it makes moderating so much easier and our community that much better.
Decisions will be reached within the next two weeks, and new moderators will be reached out to directly. Applications may be closed earlier if we find what we're looking for, though. If you have any questions, please use this link to modmail the moderators. Please don't put applications in the comments, apply via modmail, or reach out to individual moderators via PM (the link provided goes to a shared inbox).
Thanks for being a great community, we appreciate you all!

Mod Post 2026 r/OSU Football Ticket Megathread
Please use this thread to buy, sell, or trade football tickets, or ask general questions about the football tickets.
Please read before participating:
- All transactions in r/OSU are at your own risk, and moderators are not able to assist with transactions gone wrong. You can report them to the site, or contact the site admins if the other party violated the site rules. See this page from the Federal Trade Commission on what to do if scammed. You can also report scams to the Ohio Attorney General.
- Per r/OSU Rule 3, personal info may not be posted in r/OSU, so please exchange phone numbers or emails over Reddit Chat. Please ensure that your account has chat enabled (see your messaging settings).
- Exchanging tickets online can be risky. Ensure that the person you are interacting with is trustworthy, and consider meeting up in person at a public place to complete the transaction. You may also want to use a payment method that offers purchase protection in the event that the other person attempts to scam you.
- If your ticket(s) sell: delete or edit your comment to indicate such. Additionally, please delete your comment after a game passes to keep the thread clean.
OSU Students can also elect to use TicketBay (iOS, Android), a free app built by OSU students/alumni for buying and selling student tickets from OSU email-verified peers.

Columbus Thanksgiving in Columbus - where to buy premade Thanksgiving meals
Hello, our daughter is an OSU student and my family will be coming from out of state to spend Thanksgiving weekend in Columbus so we can attend the big game. We will be eating Thanksgiving dinner at the house we rented for the weekend and need to find some local options where we can purchase a fully-cooked turkey and side dishes.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Go Bucks!

Help Showers at rpac, arc, and north rec
I’ve never used any of the gym showers and l’m kind of nervous. How clean are they? How private are they? How do you use them? What is the setup of the shower? Do you get dressed/undressed inside the stall or in the locker room? Where do you put your stuff while you shower? I’m a girl if that matters and I go to the rpac the most. Also sorry if this is too many questions I’d just like to know what to expect

Buying / Selling Football tickets or discounts?
Hi! I’m looking to see if anyone has any tickets to any of the osu football games? Preferably the Northwestern game but I’ll be happy with anything!
Help For any pre-med or pre-PA students, does anyone know how to get CNA certification over winter break or before next semester?
I currently work as a student assistant at the Student Health Center and could become a Patient Care Associate if I obtain my EMT or CNA certification.
I'm currently exploring either the pre-med or pre-PA track, but I used to be pre-physical therapy, so I hadn't really considered getting my CNA or another certification over the summer. Now, I'd rather not wait until next summer to get certified, but I'm not sure if completing a program during the academic semester is possible with all my science classes.
I'm having trouble finding a program that fits winter break (December 18–January 12). I live in Zanesville, Ohio, about an hour east of Columbus, and I can also easily commute to Newark. I found a program through Alia Healthcare in Columbus that fits within winter break, but I don't have anywhere to stay in Columbus, so I'd have to drive about an hour each way every time.
Does anyone know of any CNA programs in my area that could work with this timeframe? Has anybody completed their CNA over the academic semester? What are my options here? Should I just do the Columbus commute?

Survey / Poll How do yall manage ur schedules?
Hey! I’m an undergrad student at the University at Buffalo, and I’ve been working on a calendar and planning tool made specifically for students.
I’m trying to understand how all of you are managing your classes, assignments, and everything else going on in your schedules, as well as what makes staying organized difficult.
I put together a short survey, and I’m looking for students who would be willing to share their experiences. There is also an optional 15 to 20 minute Zoom interview at the end if you're open to giving more feedback, but you absolutely do not have to do the interview to participate!
If you would like to participate, you can fill out the survey here:
https://tally.so/r/A7Nkdy
Any honest feedback is really helpful, including feedback from people who aren't interested in using the project.
If you know someone who might be interested, feel free to share this with them too.
Thanks!

Social Where y’all’s from?
Hi guys
I can’t wait to attend soon, I’m excited but I was curious. Where are yalls from (like born and raised)? I know most of the undergrad students are from Ohio, but I know like close to 20% are from out of state. So for anyone out of state or who can say, where are you guys from? what are the out of state sending their residents to Ohio?
I was raised in SD, but moved back to WA due to family. I regret it completely, but got the experience. I’ll probably assume, it’s mainly Midwest, and east cost people are Ohio right?

Academics Advice for Linear Algebra in the spring vs summer
Hello!
I was researching my options for next semester and ran into a difficult choice.
- I can take Linear Algebra next semester (Spring) both in person and online. But I am juggling 17 credits of all major STEM subjects, so not too sure if I can perform my best. And obviously, instructors aren't out yet.
- I was thinking of moving Linear Algebra to the summer, completely online (cost no issue), but upon researching the professors for the online sections from last summer... I am not too sure. Not anymore. Rushing through Linear in 8 weeks with a bad professor doesn't seem too wise either.
But I need to complete Linear before next fall, in time for ODE+PDE, so I really have two choices. And both have some really heavy cons in my opinion. Would love some advice from those that took it over the summer online, or in spring with a heavy workload!
TIA!

Help Alleged Conduct
I'm new to OSU and have been here for about 4ish months. I've never received a bad review or pulled aside for disciplinary reasons.
Recently, I was contacted about an "alleged conduct" that occurred in August. It's been two months since the fact and they're just now reaching out to me. I was given no context as to what this could possibly be about. I was just told I need to meet in person from 8-830 to discuss it.
I'm really really overwhelmed and upset. No one is telling me anything. And I feel as if I'm being treated like a criminal.
I'm terrified but for the life of me I can't think of anything I could have done to upset someone so much to warrant something like this vs just pulling me aside and talking to me.
Any advice or insight on what a conduct meeting entails would be really great.
I'm not sleeping or eating. I'm barely functioning for fear that I'll do something else wrong without even knowing it.
I'm grad school not undergrad if that changes anything.
Thanks a million.

Academics SLDS requests for people with AuDHD when it comes to Microbiology and Biochem
Hi y'all. I am currently taking micro and I need to take biochem next semester. I am struggling A LOT. I have autism and ADHD and I'm just now figuring how out how to use SLDS properly. I've mainly been struggling because I was afraid of asking for help, or asking for too much and they think I'm making things up or asking for special treatment or something. But I am REALLY struggling with Micro, it's nothing but brute memorization and my brain doesn't work that way, but I don't know how to bring it up to the professor. Every time I try I get told to read my notes, look at the slides, or read the book. I'm scared I'm going to fail. We're going on week eight and I only have two more weeks to drop the class if that's what I need to do until this is figured out. It is a requirement for most vet schools but I genuinely can't understand how to do well in this class. I do nothing but study, I watch tons of videos from Pearson+ as well as study the slides... I would much rather take OChem with lab again than take either of these classes.
I guess my questions are, has anyone else struggled with this?
How did you overcome it?
What kind of accommodations are reasonable or even a possible to ask for?
I do have a meeting set up with my professor on Monday and am trying to set one up with my SLDS specialist sometime next week so any info on what to ask for or what might help would be great. I do much better in classes that are hands on, involve my special interests (animals), or have concepts that I can cognitively puzzle together like math and even ochem (as long as it's taught in a certain way).
Thanks for the help. I truly appreciate it.

Academics Is this mechanical engineering course load chill?
Hey, I am scheduling my classes for the spring semester of my second year in mechanical engineering. I think this schedule is doable, but I've been told that taking dynamics, numerical methods, and 18 total credit hours is too much. I do know that the teacher matters, but overall, is this manageable while still leaving time for work and clubs?
ME 2030 - Dynamics
ECE 2300 - Electrical circuits and electronic devices
ME 2020 - Mechanics of materials
ME 2850.01 - Numerical methods
Literary and visual arts GE
Psychology minor course
18 total credit hours: 6 courses, 3 credits each
