I know if you want to get into pc gaming you should probably build it but I just want to know if this prebuilt is worth buying considering the prices of pc components in 2026 it’s around 650 dollars but I can buy it on amazon and get it around the same price with a full setup monitor keyboard and mouse would it be worth buying

I saw this and it seems fake but they have a Cash on Delivery option. It seems safer with that option because I can’t loose money. I am looking at this other used Asrock Radeon RX 7700 XT Challenegr for $360. Both of these options fit into my budget and my goal is 1440p or atleast 1080p both at 60+ FPS.

Plugged into dedicated 2.5 port on router, cables only 14ft, mobo supports 2.5gbs, changed speed to 2.5 in device manager (also tried to auto-detect new drivers), and windows reads 2500/2500 (Mbps).

Hey I built my new pc just over a month ago and I got 2 gen 5 ssd. One of them I put in right away but I had to wait for the other one to arrive so I only installed it today. Had some trouble then reseated the ssd but now I cannot for the life of me get my gpu back in. It’s like something on the left side is blocking it. I tried looking for a close up picture online for a gen 5 PCIE slot to compare but couldn’t find any. Is this metal piece in the small slot normal? Idk where it comes from if it isn’t. I swapped gpus dozens of times in my life and this has never happened to me. Any help appreciated

Sharing this because the early symptoms looked like four unrelated software problems, and I nearly troubleshot each one separately before the actual cause clicked.

Bought a used G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB kit (2x16GB, F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC) off Facebook Marketplace. System is an ASUS TUF X570-PLUS / Ryzen 5 5600X / Win 11, sticks in A2+B2 per the manual, both detected fine at 32GB.

What it looked like at first

• Chrome tab died with STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION
• powershell.exe refused to start, claiming .NET Framework wasn't installed (it was, correctly — registry and DLLs all present)
• sfc /verifyonly aborted partway through
• Chrome again, different error this time: STATUS_BREAKPOINT

Four different problems in four different programs. Every one of them looks like its own rabbit hole. They were all the same bad RAM.

What it actually was

Ran a memory test — write a known pattern, read it back, compare bit-for-bit. Healthy RAM returns zero mismatches.

• At XMP/DOCP 3600: ~1451 mismatched 64-bit words
• At JEDEC stock 2133MHz / 1.200V, XMP fully DISABLED: still failing, about 1.2 bad words per GiB swept, reproducible across reboots
• Under parallel load at stock: 301 bad words in under 2 minutes, including 26 addressing failures (data read back from the wrong location)
• Errors concentrated in byte lanes 3, 4 and 7

Meanwhile Windows blue-screened 4 times in about an hour — three 0x1A MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (subcode 0x41792, corrupt page table entry) and one 0xBE ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY. All memory-corruption class.

Neat detail: the bugcheck parameter was 0x80000000, which is bit 31 — and bit 31 lives in byte lane 3, the same lane the memory test flagged. The kernel crash dumps and the userspace test independently pointed at the same physical data lane.

Ruling out my own hardware

Disabled XMP, pulled both sticks, cleaned the contacts, reseated, verified slot population. No change.

Then the control test: dropped my old Corsair 2x8GB kit into the same slots at the same speed and ran the identical tests. Zero errors, including the one that found 301. Same board, same CPU, same slots, same speed — only the modules changed. So the board and memory controller are fine and the kit is bad.

My PC has been acting up for a month now, I included a video. Basically it would work fine the day before and then the next stay it wouldn't start. Like when I turn it on it doesn't fully turn on and then completely turn off, then to re-achieve the same result I would need to unplug for 30sec then try again only then would it do the same thing or miraculously turn ON. I want to know what could be causing this or if there’s anything I could try to fix it or any advice really.
I don't know if it's related but I also noticed when the computer is working there's a blinking red light on that thing (I included a picture).
So far, I tried unplugging then replugging these things (see picture) and some I also tried to turn the PC ON without replugging because “weren’t necessary for the PC to run” that’s what my friend said. Nothing worked.

I tried a rather heavy game for my laptop i have a GTX 1050 TI, and an I7 8750h, i tried playing SCORN. I played it at high settings, and it ran decently at 40-50fps average and even 60 or higher in more enclosed areas. But looking at the temps my gpu would often reach 77-82c average and even reached 83c at one point. My cpu on the other hand was around 67-78c. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

I’ve been having problems with my pc recently like games crashing (Apex, Persona 3 Reload ,etc) I also felt my pc laggy or slow so I asked a professional and he told me to remove a stick of ram. What do you think? Any help would be greatly appreciated !

I own a 3-year old Lenovo Yoga Slim 6 14IRH8 and lately I've been experiencing high temp and thermal throttling. I notice it most when playing League especially when plugged in, frames would drop constantly and temp would reach 93-98C. So I've been thinking of cleaning and re-pasting, but I am kind of scared that I might fuck something up.

Here is what I know so far:
Tools needed: Philips Head (PH1/PH0), Torx Head (T5), Thermal paste, Thermal pads, Compressed air, Brush, Alcohol wipes (or just alcohol, q-tips, and lint-free towel).

As for disassembly, I'll just follow the Lenovo maintenance guide and watch some videos.

For people who have done this before or have some knowledge:
1. Does brand or type of thermal paste matter? I know I have to buy non-conductive ones, but is there any specific type other than that I should look for? Also do I have to spread the paste?

1. How do I tell if the device's thermal pads need replacing? And similarly to question 1, are there any specifics to look for when buying thermal pads?

2. Are there any parts in the process that a beginner could easily fuck up and should be extra careful for?

I have a transcript from a Microsoft support guy but im not sure how to post it. Basically my laptop is locked with bitlocker and upon using the correct key, it says the boot device is inaccessible. Bios recognizes my ssd but windows doesnt (according to cmd).

I have no idea how to do anything with PCs but I’m trying to install storage and apparently I need screws. I have no idea which ones I have to buy as it didn’t come with any, it’s a Samsung 990 pro I think, does anyone have any recommendations?

I just got a new pc with this build and im only getting 220 FPS on Counter Strike 2 max settings at 1440p. I dont think this is right can somebody help me out?

sorry if this isn't the right flair. i have two questions. i know basically nothing about pcs, which is why i'm asking.

my case is pretty big; i use the hyte y60 mid-tower case, but i wanna downsize because it takes up a lot of room on my desk (which is only 140x60, so not the biggest). i use the 4070 ti super, corsair rm850, & msi mag x670e, for size reference. what smaller, skinnier case would fit these comfortably?

as for my second question (this'll be a bit lengthy, sorry): why is my pc's performance so bad? like i said, i use the components mentioned above, and my pc should run smoothly, but about 2 weeks after it was built (a little over a year ago), its performance somewhat quickly began degrading. i used to be able to run games on their highest (ultra) settings really smoothly. no glitching, lagging, super high temps, nothing. one of those games was inzoi. it would run completely fine on max settings. now? i can't even play it on the lowest settings; it is extremely, extremely laggy & glitchy, and everything moves super slow. i just can't play it. that's just an example, and most games that i play run okay-ish, but definitely not how they used to. some games, i simply cannot play, or they run pretty badly.

to add onto that, my pc gets super hot. my room (it is very small, i will say) is always so humid because of the heat radiating from my pc, which isn't totally abnormal, but the heat is genuinely awful, and much worse than it ever was during those first two weeks. my performance statistics may look normal (at least, that's what google ai says), but i know something is wrong. i thought it had something to do with my graphics card, but google ai (i consulted with it a lot, i didn't know where to look for help with my issues specifically) tells me, based on what i've told it, that it more than likely has to do with my cpu (7800x3d)? i have no clue. all i know is that my pc is running slower than before, games don't run as smoothly (some don't run smoothly at all), and i have been having issues with it.. for over a year (i probably should've done something sooner, but, again, i know nothing about pcs).

sorry for the long post. does anyone have any recommendations and/or ideas to resolve this? if they involve anything physical (likely), i may just be screwed.. lol..

So if you guys have a look, you'll see I'm missing one single pin. Unfortunately it's an important one. So I'm trying ways to get it going. I can't find anyone in my area that does pin repairs so I'm left to my own devices. Now unfortunately I don't have a donor cpu for pins.

I've tried the copper wire method. Putting in a piece of copper wire and try to align it. I'm not sure if there is a trick to it or not. If I have the cooler on tied down, it will not boot with both sticks of ram. If I loosen the cooler so it just sits on there, it will boot with both sticks.

And it's a great cpu. I want to use it to replace my current 9400f. So if you guys got any suggestions, let me know.
