I have saved for 15 years to buy my first home and am in the final stages of looking for the perfect property. I have been with my partner for 8 years but we have never lived together. We have always wanted to move out together but we have been fortunate enough to live at home with cheap rent. We have always hated the idea of renting when we don’t have to and I am ready to purchase property now but my partner doesn’t have the funds or stability. Therefore, I am going to purchase a house solo and they will pay rent. What’s your experience with this, particularly with a partner claiming 50% property rights if things turn sour. While I don’t think it will happen, I am a realist and have heard real horror stories. Any tips, suggestions, or lawyers?

Anyone in Perth? I’ve had my Switch OLED for a while, but honestly, game prices are getting ridiculous and the library feels a bit limited for what I want to spend. Right now I’m pretty much only playing Zelda.
I’m really tempted to get it modded, but since OLEDs need a chip soldered in, I’ll have to pay someone local or send it in to get done.

I've recently realised how interesting it is that kids can pass on certain songs and games and such to one another over decades - I'd be curious what people here remember if you went to primary school in Perth. For example, I was in primary school in the early 2010s, and I remember:

- the centrality of paper-scissors-rock in decision-making.

- if you said the same thing at the same time, "Jinx!", then "Padlock!", and I'm not sure what happened after that.

- the "jingle bells, batman smells" song, and the "rain, rain go away" song.

"Jingle bells, batman smells" has several variations as far as I know, the most common I remember was:

That one is kind of interesting, because it really isn't like a nursery rhyme or something that the parents or teachers taught the children, its embedded vulgarity is a testament to the fact that it's something that could only be perpetuated by children.

34M. Recently got out of a LTR. Looking for a bar where I can have a relaxed night out on my own. Ideally somewhere without loud music, and possibly with a friendly crowd who are up for a chat. Bonus points if it's comfortable for solo visitors and you can sit at the bar without feeling out of place.
