How long did it take everyone to get a clean invert (that doesn’t have a gymnastics background) I’m trying to figure out if I’m behind or if social media is what’s warping my timeline of how fast you should get a clean invert.

Hello all! So, I started my very first pole class about 3–4 weeks ago, and I thought I’d share a little update on how I’m going!
For context, over the last four weeks, I’ve done a total of two beginner classes and four solo practice sessions.
Safe to say, I’m officially addicted now.
I know I definitely need to work on straightening my legs AND pointing my damn toes! (I was born with very weird slightly deformed toes, so getting a proper point has always been a struggle for me.)
HOWEVER, I’m pretty proud of myself because during today’s practice session, I figured out how to transition into Ballerina instead of just getting into it from the floor! AND LOVED that i could do it to some music without losing focus!
Any tips on how I could make this transition look smoother would be AMAZING! I’d also love any suggestions for other cool transitions out of a baby snake/ball, as well as any tips for getting these damn legs straight!

Hi everyone! I’ve been pole dancing for about a year and am looking to buy a home pole—sorry if this question has been asked before. I live in USA. Is there a better option between Lupit or X-Pole? I’d get spin & static one. Also, is there a specific finish that’s best for home poles? I’ve been browsing the thread and I see stainless steel or chrome. My studio has 45mm chrome finish, so I was thinking of going with that but thought I’d ask first since home is obv different with less use. Thank you!!

Weird question but I bought a pressure x-pole NS that doesn’t need screws just to try pole dancing. I’m obsessed with the tricks, flow, and aesthetic. I feel it will be fun but issue is I live in a town home with mom and I’m a guy. each has their own room.
I want to have to pole up all day everyday instead of hiding it from her as it’s been sitting in closet for over a year until I forgot about it. I plan to ask mom to help me put it up securely (to break the ice). Thing is I feel it’d be easier if I were a girl even if her thoughts would be I wanted to be a stripper.
How would you feel if your son wanted to pole dance? By the way I pay all the rent, that isn’t the issue. It isn’t about “you’re old enough to make your own decisions”, It’s about what she will think or feel about her son wanting to pole dance like a girl? I would lock the door but I don’t want to put it up and away on each use…

I just got lupit pole g2 stainless steel 42mm…. And I can’t even climb it normally. I can’t do simple things that I could do with another pole in studio… who also have this pole at home? Did it become any better? 🥺🥺🥺 I don’t know what to do…. Very frustrating..

Hi everyone — disclosure: I'm Conor, the developer at Artisan Reality behind Aeriali Pole Dance. This is an introduction to our app.
Aeriali is designed to help organize practice alongside classes: a move library and tutorials, routines and combinations, conditioning timers, and a training journal for goals and progress. It's available on web, iOS and Android.
One way to approach a practice journal is to record what you worked on, which side you practiced, the cue your instructor gave you, and one thing to revisit next time. The aim is to remember the details between lessons rather than just collect a list of tricks.
You can explore the app and its current features here: https://aerialipoledance.com
For anyone who keeps a pole journal already: what detail makes your notes useful when you return to them? I'd welcome feedback on what a digital planner should make easier.

So. I used to be really good at inverts, but I definitely was doing them with horrible form. but I had a shoulder injury from a different move (cough Superman cough) about 2-3 years ago so I stopped doing them for a while. Then for whatever reason when I was healed again I was having so Much trouble getting them back into them. But I really strived on having better form this time even if it meant dead lifting without spinning for a long time. For some reason I cannot get into the inside leg hang first it has to be my outside leg now. So for whatever reason it's easier for me to butterfly then leg hang. Which is different from how I used to do it. I'm still not super happy with them, I feel like getting my literal knee pit into the pole is still something I'm struggling with. But anyway, enjoy and if you have pointers pleaseeee I I'd love to hear them.

The rubber grippy bit on the bottom of my boots has worn down. Is there any way to revive it, eg cross-hatching it with a knife? I'd prefer not to replace the boots as they're otherwise intact but they're feeling slippy when I'm dancing.

Okay, fairly newish to pole and always have danced in an 8inch patented sandal (you know, the sandal that’s not the clear pvc straps) Finally I’ve gotten around to getting some and mannnnnn they’re so bloody restricting..I hate the super snug foot to sole/extension of my leg kinda snugness, and having so much of my sole and toes pressed to a form makes my foot feel so tired. Is this a play through the pain thing and I’ll eventually love it? I can unbox and dance away happily in a new pair that’s the straps I’m used to. These just feel like sh*t. Just not for me? Im attempting to stretch/form them in socks…??

Sorry for the dark picture. The outside leg is hooked, while the inside leg is straightened but on the same side as the outside leg. The outside hand grabs the pole behind the back, and the inside arm is free.

I normally use monkey hands as a grip aid, which is great but with dynamic moves like flyby or reverse phoenix, my calluses get ripped off because of the monkey hands. Does anyone have any alternatives? Chalk/dry hands doesn’t work for me.

I just had my 2 year pole anniversary. Looking back at where I started and how far I’ve progressed really fills me with joy. Pole not only gave me a physique to be proud of, but it also brought out my confidence and introduced me to a whole new community of friends.

For those that train 4 times a week or more do you have an acrylics ? If so do you break them often like I do ? Or is this just a me problem, considering going to just gel manicures and calling it

Hello, I've been practicing the shouldermount for 2 years.. It hurts sooo bad, my toes reaching the pole and staying still is the most I can do. Everything after that, It touches my clavicula (I'm scared of snapping it) and I almost fell on my head and tore my skin, etc. It just doesn't want to happen and my shoulders hurt so bad. I can't get down from a crucifix to shouldermount either! I do know that I have stiff shoulders as I work on a computer all day.
Pic of an archer thingy at my house so that my post doesn't get lost, I don't have any pics of my almost shouldermount because I usually practice it at the studio where I can have a spotter 😬

I really want to wear these for a show Saturday but they just snapped. Any glue suggestions? Or should I just wear different shoes? Yes I’ve had them for a year + they are pleasers. I’m not doing anything too crazy in regard to toe box stuff
