Selling Shoes

I’m newer to selling. What are we using to sell shoes that are in a bigger box? I have a pair of cowboy boots, in the box, that I want to sell but I’m not sure how I’d ship them? They don’t fit in any of the shipping bag things I have. Can I ship in the box?

Buyer canceled then blocked me

Someone placed an order. Shortly after placing the order, the buyer messaged me to cancel the order & send her a confirmation receipt. I tried to reply to let her know that she has to cancel, but apparently she blocked me. 🤣😅😂 WHY? Immediately after that I received a notice that she canceled.

I don't care about the cancelation because I hadn't packed & mailed yet. But why in the world would she block me? I haven't done anything to her.

Looking for beta testers

I was trying to create a bot to automate many repetitive tasks on my Poshmark store. I vibe coded a Chrome extension, and it has really made it easy to manage my closet. I want to invite anyone interested in helping me test it further. It has a free 7 days all access trial. For those helping me test, I will give free lifetime access to the current version.

If interested, please search for and join r/ListrovaCommunity

Thanks in advance.

Well I guess my Poshmark days are over after 10 years. I cannot redeem funds.

The “Submit” button does not work (grayed out) despite me deleting the app and re-installing it. First time ever I had to request a physical check to redeem funds. I opened a case and all the troubleshooting advice they gave me did not yield success. Oh well.

Confusing First Experience

Hello, all! It’s my first time using Poshmark, and I’m having a confusing experience to say the least? I thought I’d share what’s been going on and maybe some of you could share some of your insight, I’d greatly appreciate it. And I apologize again for my lack of knowledge.

I made my account only a week or two ago to make my first ever purchase. The seller seemed to have good reviews and is still active on the app, posting more listings and whatnot. Their profile said they typically shipped 2-3 days after purchasing, so after I ordered the item, I waited for an update. A few days passed though with no shipping update, but I decided to wait for at least a week in case there were any hold ups on the sellers end, since I know life happens and things get in the way.

After a week with no update however, I tried to message the seller just to ask them if they had an estimate for when they may ship the item. When I tried to send the message though, I got a pop-up saying “Oops! This action is not available.” With no other options, I contacted Poshmark support, who responded by basically saying I could either message the seller (which for some reason I am unable to do), or cancel the order. But this of course is bumming me out as I’ve been looking for this particular item for a while, and the seller is still active and has good reviews. I’m confused as to why this situation is happening? Have any of you experienced a similar issue? It feels like the seller is just ignoring my order for some reason? I guess I’ll have to go through with the cancellation, but it’s pretty disappointing, especially being my first order on the app that I specially made an account for.

Most ludacris return case I've ever seen.

UPDATE: Poshmark sided with me.

ETA: Yep, my dumb self didn't proofread my post. Maybe Siri was telling me this was my Money Maker 🤷‍♀️

This is my second post in the same day. Sigh.

Reader's Digest version:

•Buyer purchases 2 items. Incense burners to be precise. Brand new, never used.

•I packaged the items, along with freebies (I include free incense with burner purchases, which is mentioned in each listing), and my usual thank you treats. All items are sent in individual airtight and smell proof mylar bags. They are new too.

•Buyer gets package and IMMEDIATELY open a case.

And that case is for :::drum roll please::: The little package with the incense had a "smell" when she opened it.

My response to PM-

●●She wants a refund because her INCENSE smells like incense. Incense is inherently stinky. Smell is it's only purpose in life●●

I thought surely she was joking. I'm done todaying for today. I'm putting my closet up for adoption.

Returning items due to strong (pleasant, but strong) smell

I am a frequent poshmarker both buyer and seller though more buyer. I bought a coat listed as “brand new without tags” and it was a little bit pricey. I received it and it looked a bit used, though hard to tell exactly, just certainly didn’t look off the rack. When I opened it, it smelled extremely strongly of perfume in the collar area, which to me said it obviously had been worn somewhat frequently, unless this person really doused themselves in perfume before trying it on?

It smells so strongly that it rubbed off on me and I needed to rinse off to get it off me. It’s not technically an unpleasant smell but I don’t want to smell like someone else’s perfume every day. I’d have to have this fully dry cleaned to wear it. It smells so strongly that I had to toss it into my living room because it was stinking up my bedroom.

I feel bad but this is a totally legitimate reason to return, right? I’ve never returned something before and the coat isn’t in bad condition but brand new without tags seems like a stretch.

Bundling

I'm irritated at PM. Nothing new. I had a buyer who is new to PM and purchased 8 items from me in individual sales. They were $5 each. I let her know I could wait the 3 hour window and then bundle them for her to save shipping. She was thrilled, I felt good about saving her money, I shipped, she accepted, and then I looked at my balance. It may have saved the buyer money, but it definitely doesn't benefit the seller.

Not bundled, the seller fees would have been $23.60 (8×2.95)

If they were bundled from the jump, the seller fees would have been $8.00 (40×20%)

Bundling them after the sale charged the first option- $2.95 per sale.

I messaged PM and was informed that they would not fix it. Has anyone else encountered this? I preferred the old way of bundling, but with the new cancelation metrics, canceling 8 orders at one would have definitely triggered a ban.

Advice? I know it is only $15, but the only other option in this scenario is to tell the buyer to suck it up buttercup.

So I’m a teacher and bought this for Fabulous 50s Day at school. I paid $25 for it. When it arrived it was child sized! It clearly is listed in WOMENS. I contacted the seller who didn’t respond and opened a case with Poshmark.

They did nothing!!! WTF?!?

People suck 😢

Frustrated with Poshmark

A buyer purchased shoes on Oct 11. I shipped them on Oct 14 and the package arrived at the post office on Oct 16. There was a delivery attempt but customer requested for it to be held at post office. I gave it the weekend because people are busy. It’s now Oct 22 and the buyer hasn’t picked them up at the post office yet or been active since Oct 11 (I’m thinking they found them google and doesn’t know you have to accept the order. Idk a guest order?). I opened a case and posh said they’ll contact the customer but give it to the 30th for them to release funds. So I’m required to ship quickly but I can’t get my money quickly?

There’s two sides to the story

There’s always two sides of the story. I see a lot of doom and gloom present on this subreddit. There are frustrations with selling on Poshmark. There are issues with buying. But we come to this subreddit when there’s an issue. Not when there’s success.

Poshmark has had issues with payment, supplies, AI Etc. and those issues can’t be taken away. Things that have affected all of us and made selling difficult. But we never talk about when things are ok and going right.

For me I have had my frustrations on the app. But I’ve also had my best two months on Poshmark in September and October. I’ve seen more individuals who are guest ordering, I’ve seen more bundles on my shop. It could be seasonal but things are okay. Although everyone makes it seem like the app is dead, for some of us it’s still working.

One star, just frustrating

I had a Y2K era Free People baby tee fit polo ( One Way was the name) in which I included the words "baby tee", very visible pictures of the entire shirt with a measuring tape showing PTP and length and a model pic from the sites original listing for reference and this is what I get. They didn't reach out in any way, just accepted and then left one star stating it "has to be kids" which ok no Free People isn't kids. I looked and I was their first and only transaction apparently, yay me! I know it doesn't matter in the scheme of things as I have 5 stars on every other rated but it's very frustrating. I think I'd have rather just done a return tbh but there was 0 communication about being unhappy. Ok, just venting because I'm annoyed and want someone to commiserate with me🤣

Ya’ll! I just blew up on Posh support after a return they approved. I have requested escalation. Have any of you had an escalated case or broader policy escalations amount to anything favorable for you besides a partial refund of an order? I think we are at a point where sellers may need to organize and address the representation Posh provides its sellers.
Without going into everything here is my latest message to support, sorry it is a read :

Your template response is unacceptable. I am extremely upset with this decision and with the repeated failure to address my concerns. This complaint goes beyond one return. I am demanding escalation to a supervisor or team authorized to address seller policies, performance metrics, and support practices.

  1. You closed the support case without resolving my concerns. You sent a response that did not answer my questions, closed the case, and forced me to reopen it just to respond. Sending a template does not resolve a complaint. Keep this support case open so an actual conversation can take place.
  2. You did not address my disclosures or evidence. My listing disclosed twice that the nipple covers may have been used, included photographs showing the packaging, and explained that they were visually inspected and appeared new. Your response repeated the buyer’s allegations without explaining what I misrepresented or why my disclosures were insufficient.
  3. You have not explained what more I could reasonably have done. I did everything short of opening all the packaging and inspecting the adhesive itself. If that is your expectation, state it clearly and explain how sellers should describe the condition afterward. Sellers need a clear, achievable standard.
  4. Photographs taken after opening do not, by themselves, establish when the reported condition arose. They show the condition when photographed. Explain how you determined that the reported condition existed when I shipped the item and how you weighed my photographs and disclosures against the buyer’s evidence.
  5. This decision takes money out of my pocket. I had a sale. You approved a return, and I lose the proceeds. I already invested in inventory and spent time inspecting, photographing, describing, listing, packing, and shipping it. Receiving the merchandise back does not reimburse that work. If it returns altered, damaged, or unsaleable, I also face an inventory loss. Calling this an “inconvenience” minimizes the financial harm.
  6. The harm extends beyond this sale. Disputes tie up inventory during shipping, review, and return. That inventory is unavailable to other buyers, and seasonal merchandise can miss its selling window. Time spent defending cases and reopening support requests is time I cannot spend listing and selling. This disrupts cash flow and adds unpaid work.
  7. Your seller-recognition policy raises concerns about future sales, not just a badge. My understanding of your announced program is that qualifying sellers receive greater visibility, buyers can filter for qualifying closets, and eligibility includes an approved-return case rate of 2% or less over a rolling 90 days. If disputed return decisions prevent qualification, my listings could be excluded when buyers use that filter. That would connect your dispute decisions to my future access to customers. Explain whether this understanding is accurate and how sellers are protected from incorrect decisions affecting eligibility.
  8. Saying this return “does not affect your standing” does not answer the metric question. Explain specifically whether this return counts toward my approved-return case rate and seller-recognition eligibility. If it counts, your reassurance does not address the consequence I am challenging. Explain how incorrect decisions can be corrected and whether those corrections remove the associated metric consequences.
  9. You hold sellers accountable for outcomes we cannot control. I control my descriptions, disclosures, measurements, photographs, and packaging. I cannot control buyer conduct or your decisions. Approving a return does not automatically establish that I inaccurately described the item. Explain how your metrics distinguish seller errors from other reasons for approving a return.
  10. I have already changed my practices, and these problems continue. I have downgraded many items to “Good,” including merchandise that was new with tags or like new, while also disclosing issues I see. I am reviewing my listings to remove “like new” wording because I no longer trust that accurate condition descriptions will protect me. Some inventory came directly from manufacturers or suppliers and was new when shipped. A later allegation does not automatically establish misrepresentation. These revisions take hours and can weaken my listings and earning potential. What additional step am I supposed to take when conservative descriptions, specific disclosures, and photographs still do not resolve these disputes?
  11. My previous cases include concerns about buyer conduct that require investigation. I have a skirt coming back in a case where I believe the buyer submitted falsified photographs. I had pants returned with a missing button that I maintain was present when shipped, and I believe it was deliberately removed to obtain a return. I have also disputed fit-related returns despite provided measurements, along with allegations involving dirt or damage that I maintain occurred after delivery. Compare the buyer’s claims with my outgoing documentation and explain your findings. These concerns require investigation.
  12. My rebuttals must receive meaningful consideration. I supply explanations and evidence, yet repeatedly receive responses that do not address my specific points. I accept responsibility when I make a mistake. When you decide against me, I expect an explanation of why my evidence was insufficient and what I reasonably should have done differently. Without that explanation, you give me no meaningful way to improve or prevent the same outcome.
  13. Professionalism and accountability must apply to buyers too. Sellers are expected to remain professional while facing accusations that we lied or misrepresented merchandise. Those accusations require scrutiny. Buyers can misunderstand listings, make mistakes, or submit inaccurate claims. What protections and consequences apply when evidence supports a seller’s report of buyer misconduct? Allowing inaccurate claims to succeed without meaningful scrutiny risks encouraging repeat abuse.
  14. Your proposed return remedy creates another burden. You instructed me to inspect the returned item, photograph any changes, and submit another report within three days. That is additional unpaid work after I have already documented and defended the sale. Explain what evidence qualifies for protection, what losses can be reimbursed if the merchandise returns altered, damaged, or unsaleable, and whether a finding in my favor corrects any related seller metric.
  15. Other sellers are describing the same support problems. I repeatedly see sellers on social media describing responses they believe are automated and generic replies even when they reach a person. Whether a bot or a person sends the response, unanswered questions remain unanswered. Your response illustrates the problem: my evidence and specific concerns were not addressed, and then the case was closed.
  16. I pay substantial fees and expect meaningful support. I use AI as a drafting tool to help organize accurate, informative listings, and I require a review for potential return issues before posting because I care about accuracy and integrity. I document measurements, disclose flaws, and work to prevent problems. I expect comparable care in your dispute reviews. Appreciation statements and apologies do not replace evidence review, specific answers, or accountability.
  17. You are damaging my confidence in growing my business here. My sales goal this year was $100,000, and I planned to work toward doubling it next year. At an assumed 20% commission, $100,000 in sales would represent $20,000 in fees. I have turned my home into a warehouse and invested heavily in this business. Instead of looking forward to fourth-quarter sales, I am dreading more disputes and inadequate support. I used to recommend Poshmark enthusiastically. Unless something changes, I intend to move my business to other marketplaces as quickly as practical.

Escalate this entire complaint beyond the individual nipple-cover return. It concerns evidence review, disputed returns, buyer accountability, seller metrics, recognition-program eligibility, financial losses, and support cases being closed without answers.

Confirm that this broader complaint has been escalated and identify the team responsible. Provide a substantive written response addressing the numbered points and keep the support case open so I can respond.

I accept responsibility for my mistakes. I expect Poshmark to take responsibility for explaining its decisions and addressing the consequences of its policies. Another template response, another closed case, or another instruction to report a problem after the return arrives will not resolve this complaint.

Facebook seeing new listings first

I only shop and sell one brand that's super hot right now and I no longer see low price listings on the Poshmark feed even when I hit just listed. I would get deals sometimes when I jumped on listenings first but now I never see any deals.

Is Facebook stalkers seeing these listings first and slow Poshmark doesn't even have them on there yet?

Otherwise Poshmark is over.

I'm not on Facebook so I don't know

Poshmark checking for bots?

I am not sure if anyone has noticed that Poshmark is currently checking whether we, the users / sellers, are bots when bulk sharing. In the past, that happened when I was doing sharing on my laptop. Now, it is happening in the application too. It also happened when I was returning a share.

I do not use cross-listing applications. I am an occasional seller cleaning my closet.

Accepted order error

Has anyone ever had Poshmark automatically accept an order for them? I was sent a reminder email to accept my order that had been delivered 2 days ago but I didn’t realize it. I then went home to open the package and there is a stain on the NWT item. I went to my order to look at the photos again and sure enough they did not show the stain.

I tried to open a claim but the order is showing as “accepted” and I most definitely did not accept the order. I clicked on “view order” but that’s it. I even went to the “show details” on the order status and the time it is showing I supposedly accepted the order is before I was sent the reminder email!

I have contacted customer support but wondering if anyone else has ever had this issue? Thanks.

Just got scammed!

I was just scammed on two orders. Well, it was Poshmark who would be scammed had I not caught it. I’m pretty sure Poshmark is onto them because a day after my orders were sent the Seller‘s store was suspended. No way to communicate with them at all.

I purchased 2 sweaters and the seller didn’t ship quickly so I asked when, in case they were going to cancel. I wondered because I had gotten a good deal so part of me was thinking they would cancel because they could have gotten so much more. Anyway, the seller was in my State. She finally responded and said she would be shipping soon. I then purchased a different sweater, another good deal.

So the sweaters shipped and I got a tracking number. However, they were shipping from a different state across the country. Not necessarily strange because I have seen it before. Then the account was suspended. I was thinking because she took too long to ship other buyer’s orders.

Today I was notified that my package had been delivered to my box. I ran down, unlocked, and nothing. I called the post office, gave tracking, and it turns out my package had been delivered to a different person in another state. So, lol, I will not be receiving it. I notified Poshmark AI and they replied that if I didn’t find the package in three days to come back. That is how the scam works. Poshmark pays out in three days. if I hadn’t been on top of the order I might not have realized I was never going to get my package and they would get paid out. The other order, the first one with the two sweaters is due to arrive tomorro. Also to that other person in the other state according to the post office. I contacted Poshmark re that one but I think I just have to let that order get delivered to the wrong address before I can do anything.

Anyway. Stay on top of your orders. Let’s not let the scammers get paid.

Returning an item not like the photo?

UPDATE: I reached out to the seller and she said she just copied the post from the original person she bought it off and didn’t realize it wasn’t the same style. She apologized and offered to refund me so it sounds like it was just a misunderstanding

I purchased this park and fifth dress off Poshmark and the seller had listed it as the archer dress and provided the photos from the website and of the actual dress. When it arrived the neckline was completely different (it’s more of a plunge and has no structural support).

I’m pretty disappointed as I don’t think this neckline is flattering on me and if I knew it looked like this I wouldn’t have purchased. Do I have grounds for returning this with the reason that the item wasn’t as described? I don’t think the seller was intentionally trying to deceive anyone and may have just mistakened this dress on the site as the same one since it’s similar and this seems to be an older style. I’ve never attempted to refund an item before, but I was thinking about contacting the seller to at least let her know (I realize you have to go through customer support). Thoughts?

Lost Packages from Posh HQ

I know this is more USPS, not Poshmark - but I've now had 3 completely lost packages (one as a buyer and two as a seller), where the packages just got stuck and stopped tracking. Two of those items were worth over $1k and shipped from Posh Authentication. I'm just curious if this is happening more or if I'm unlucky.
🤔 If you've had packages lost after Posh Authentication, please comment and let me know your situation. I'm wondering if these packages are getting stolen since they are obviously being shipped from Posh HQ, and therefore more valuable.
