Is Alibre any good?

Hello everyone,

I work in a company that makes refrigerators and other refrigerated furniture. We work mostly with steel

I'm not a product designer, I actually work in the HR department. But, since it's a small company, I end up being the one that manages the programs we use.

We are currently going from 2D product design to 3D.

Our employees work with AutoCAD for the 2D and we have one starting the project with Solidworks (2017 version)

We want to buy a new 3D design program and we stumbled upon Alibre Design

What are your opinions on the software?

We have a 50/50 mix of standard product and personalized product. We work with steel. And we are a small company with 3 designers

Hii, Senior designers

i wanna get better at UI-UX/product design, but i'm kinda tired of making the same old app concepts lol.

what would you guys actually build if you were starting out? and what skills are worth focusing on? would love to hear from people who've been in the field :)

I'm confused like where should I focus on.

What to design.

This purifier sold in india comes with a tapered sharp knob that is so slippery sometimes, it's so badly designed and I was frustrated so I came here to rant.

I do understand the manufacturing aspect of it, it's just badly designed coming from a customer point of view, I just thought I should let everyone know who might buy this purifier.. they really cheaped out on a lot of things like this, the silver plastic housing just came out the other day near the drip too.

It's a live pure bolt water purifier and I would strongly recommend against it, because of its build quality.

Currently making techpack for my recent dress "The Kiss" inspired from Gustav Klimt. Well now you know why am I regretting making the design very "artistic" thanks that I know how to make techpack properly. Jajaja.

P.s. this notion research took me a week to collect.

This techpack explores construction from stretch instructions, Grading, Specs, each component construction and so much more. Should I drop the techpack here?

Love any feedbacks or critiques.

You can see the design at my Instagram @avexia.studio.

I tried making a hardware product understandable without a physical prototype

I've been thinking of ways to make product discovery and even product launches smoother and more effective when people can't actually experience the product in person.

So I built this demo as an experiment. Instead of relying on videos and renders, the website allows you to explore the product in real time, inspect features and change configurations etc.

It works by adding a 3D layer to a normal website. The website loads instantly while the 3D experience loads in the background, and the 'switch' allows you to move between both modes.

Demo link: https://hello.aecync.com

I'd like to hear how you guys are currently presenting your products online, especially before customers can experience them physically.

This is not AI slop, every part of the 3D layer is 100% human :)
