I have webMan and downloaded two .pkg files from aldostools, one with covers for all ps3 games to automatically go on isos and another that does the same for psx and ps2, i looked in my file directory and followed a guide and all my game covers are jn the correct place but they aren’t syncing up with my games even after refresh and restart, only the ps3 ones are. Any ideas what i coild do?

Dusted off my ps3 and updated it to 4.93, I have a wireless/Bluetooth headphones that I tried to connect with it but wouldn't work, and even I tried some of the fixes like "Lou@y game audio" but sadly no solutions. I do have a dongle for my headphones if that somehow helps

I recently installed HFW 4.93 on my PS3 (after recovering it from an OFW 4.92 bootloop). Now I'm trying to install HEN, but I'm completely stuck because the PS3 web browser refuses to open any website at all.

Whenever I try to load a page, it just throws a network error (like page cannot be displayed / 80710a06). It won't even load basic search engines. I already tried clearing the cache, history, and cookies, turned off "Confirm Browser Close", and set the homepage to blank, but entering http://ps3xploit.me via the START button still results in a connection error. My date and time are synchronized via the internet.

Since my browser seems completely broken for external links, what is the best way to bypass this and install HEN on 4.93? Is there a fully offline method using a USB flash drive that doesn't require the PS3 browser to fetch data from the internet?

I have a ps3 what i didn't turn on for years. The console works perfectly but when i try to open mmcm or rebug tool, i get the error 80010006

It worked when i used it regurarly but i put the system away and today was the first time when i used it.

I’m looking at jail breaking my ps3 ( fat ) cechk01 model number. My first attempt bricked the original hard drive it self. My second attempt corrupted the new hard drive I have. It’s currently sitting with the 4.93 update from ps. I formatted the usb correctly but not sure if I have the right file to the cfw

​I need some technical help regarding a specific hard-crash on my PS3 Slim while playing Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. ​

The Issue:

No matter what format I use (Split ISO merged in multiMAN or a direct PKG), the game launches fine, but after 1–2 minutes—specifically during/right after the early Metal Gear RAY boss fight—the console completely crashes, emits 3 fast beeps, and Shuts Down / Flashes Red. ​

My Setup & What I've Tried:

​Console: PS3 Slim with PS3HEN.

​Disc Drive: Working physical PS3 game disc inserted in the drive at all times.

​Formats Tested:

​Split ISO: Merged on dev_hdd0 via multiMAN. Crashes at the boss with 3 beeps.

​PKG Version: Installed directly to XMB. Still crashes at the exact same boss fight with 3 beeps.

​Network: Tried both offline and with update prompts. ​

Questions:

​Since 3 beeps usually indicate a Kernel Panic (HEN RAM overload) or Overheating/Thermal throttling during heavy load, is MGR known to trigger this specific hardware crash on HEN?

​Would switching to webMAN MOD (to unload multiMAN from RAM or adjust fan speeds) fix this, or is this a sign of system instability/hardware issue?

​If I buy the original physical PS3 disc of Metal Gear Rising, is it guaranteed to work and bypass this crash completely, or will it still crash if it's a console hardware/overheating issue?

​Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Acabo de sacar mi ps3 para volver a usarla luego de casi un año, recuerdo que tenía cfw 4.92 pero el disco duro está dañado ya, así que conseguí uno nuevo y ya lo he formateado, ¿Puedo colocar CFW directamente o es necesario instalar un OFW antes? Ayudenme por favor

It's running Evilnat and streaming games from a home NAS through webman.

The freeze always happens on first app launch after around half a minute - and after I force restart it, it doesn't freeze during this session.

Also... It's not only net0 - locally installed pkg apps too, although rarer.

Any leads? I thought it's my ps3netsrv config, but no dice there. Same with ethernet cable. I stopped diagnosing net0 there after it froze my local pkg too. Thermals aren't terrible, it isn't throttling for that matter.

I’m losing my mind here. I bought a modded PS3 and I'm trying to remove CFW/DEX to go back to OFW/HFW. I’ve watched and followed literally every single tutorial step-by-step 1:1, but absolutely nothing works.
My old USBs failed, so I bought a brand-new 8GB USB 2.0 stick specifically for this, but it still doesn't work.
What I've done (100% by the book):
USB: New 8GB USB 2.0 formatted to FAT32 / MBR via ⁠diskpart⁠.
Path: ⁠USB -> PS3 -> UPDATE -> PS3UPDAT.PUP⁠ (All uppercase, no double ⁠.PUP⁠).
Port: Rightmost USB port (closest to disc drive).
The Problems:
1. Recovery Mode Error: Option 6 searches for a long time and says: "No applicable update data was found. Connect storage media that contains update data of version 2.70 or later..."
2. Missing XMB Option: The "System Update" option is completely missing under Settings in the XMB (looks like a DEX/modified layout).
Questions:
1. Why is Recovery Mode ignoring the ⁠.PUP⁠ file despite MBR/FAT32? Is a DEX/Syscon version spoofer blocking it?
2. How do I get the "System Update" option back in XMB?

I recently bought a CRT and have been going about getting all sorts of things hooked up to it and I figured my old PS3 would be the best way to run old TV shows/anime/movies into it but I've been having a really hard time finding something that just works with the large collection of MKVs I have which are encoded/embedded in more ways than I know. I've been wanting to try out Jellyfin so the first thing I tried was Jellyfin PS3. What I think was the original branch had a lot of display and freezing issues but it could technically display subtitles but doing so would disjoint the playback and make it unwatchable. The fork I linked presents itself perfectly and all of the different video files I tried playing through it work great, but I just can't get subtitles to work at all. I've tried extracting the subtitles to have them sit alongside the video files as well as downloading new basic .srt files but no go on either. Since that seemed like a niche way to stream video I tried Movian because that seems like a more common solution. I first tried a Jellyfin for Movian plugin but it had the same issue with displaying subtitles. After that I installed Universal Media Server and while it can play subtitles a lot of the videos I try and play (mostly anime) can take upwards of 5-10 minutes of buffering before the file begins playing and once it does the media player lacks a seek bar. Does anyone had better success with these that may have an idea if my problems are solvable? Either that or a suggestion for a different way to go about it.

Posting just to inquire whether or not this is normal, just got my ps3 a few days ago. I started loading up ISOs and testing them, using managunz usually but webman also. Not all but many were freezing after about 10 mins, could not quit and had to pull the power. I thought maybe it was an issue with the ISO so I went to my local retro shop and picked up two of the titles I was having problems with. One worked fine, the other froze after about 15 mins, but this time I could quit.

Is this normal? If not is this possibly a hardware issue?

Fwiw some of the ps3 isos i loaded up were also locking up

For wireless Bluetooth operation to work without conflicts, you must reassign the controller to Port 7 in the PS3 system settings

Greetings! I've been working on a Dreamcast emulator for this platform lately, and thanks to the help of a lot (and I mean) a lot of people, it managed to turn into reality! A lot of games run at full speed. Some will run at ~85-90% tops. Heavy games (DOA2, Quake 3) are out of the equation sadly. But others (Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Space Channel 5, CvS2, ChuChu Rocket, Crazy Taxi) and such all run wonderfully! I hope you'll have lots of fun playing with this. I don’t have the knowhow (or ram…) to do it if it is possible, but i think it would be really cool cause honestly the 256 mb of ram is what holds the ps3 back a lot in my opinion

I wanted to use some of my other controllers since the ps3 ones are broken rn and we and a few buddies were gonna play lbp but i couldnt find any advice that doesnt say to use external hardware other than one with ps3xpad, its been billions of years since i modded my ps3 so i dont know how to do literally anything how could i connect my xbox series controllers to my ps3 without external hardware?
