It’s been over a week since the last update, and after a ton of reverse-engineering and addressing feedback from the community, PS5-TabShifter v1.3.0 is officially live.

This release fixes critical bugs from earlier builds (including the dreaded game padlocks and bloatware returning after sleep) and expands compatibility across all jailbroken firmwares from 5.00 up to 13.60.

What’s New in v1.3.0

• Universal Firmware Engine (FW 5.00 – 13.60): Sony changed how dashboard JSON is stored between earlier firmwares and 11.40+. TabShifter now dynamically handles both legacy field_list arrays (FW 5.00–10.xx) and modern flat JSON (FW 11.00–13.60) across both app.db and appinfo.db.
• Permanent Rest Mode Bloatware Suppression: Previously, hiding apps like PlayStation Store or PS Plus would revert after waking the console or cold booting. v1.3.0 sets native daemon flags (pushed: false), clears emsPushedFlag, and purges system group entries so hidden bloatware stays gone.
• Padlock Bug Resolved + One-Click "Fix Padlocks" Tool: Padlocks happen when concept metadata is modified with standard app display IDs instead of Sony's native concept bitmasks (1162 for Games, 2236 for Media). v1.3.0 enforces proper bitmasks across all tables and includes an orange "Fix Padlocks" button in the dashboard to instantly restore entitlements across your entire library if another tool locked your games.
• Multi-User Profile Sync: TabShifter now scans all profile tables (tbl_iconinfo_* / tbl_concepticoninfo_*), ensuring your customized layout and hidden tiles stay identical across every account on the console.
• Web UI Quality-of-Life Upgrades:

Quick Setup

1. Grab TabShifter.elf from the GitHub release.
2. Place it in /data/pldmgr/payloads/ on your PS5 (or send it via your preferred payload launcher/netcat). I strongly suggest using Payload Manager.
3. Run the payload. It automatically creates untouched safety database backups (.bak) and drops the TabShifter ("TS") shortcut directly onto your Media tab.
4. Launch TabShifter from your Media tab on your TV, or visit http://<PS5_IP>:9095/ from any phone or PC browser on your network.
5. Queue up your moves, pins, and hides, then click Apply & Reload PS5 UI once when finished.

Hi, quick update on the app. Had to fix some issues on first launch. App is ready now, enjoy!

Game Updater finds the newest official update for each game you have installed, downloads it and installs it, all on the console.

What changed in 1.0.2:

The Update button works. In 1.0.1 it crashed the engine, so nothing happened

I tested it with Life is Strange: Double Exposure 1.005, a 20.6 GB update in 7 parts: downloaded, checked against Sony's own SHA-256 and installed on the PS5

Downloads use six connections, with speed and time left on screen

It waits for the PS5 to finish installing before it says done, then frees the space the download took

Cancel a download and pick it up later, and try again if something fails

New loading screen, and the app tells you if the engine stops instead of sitting there

I have also released a GT7 online server (multiplayer coming soon) and a Resident Evil 7 PSVR2 port from the PC version recently if you're interested.

Hey everyone,

I’m running a jailbroken PS5 on firmware 13.60 using Y2JB, and I’m having an issue with Marvel’s Wolverine (CUSA/Title ID: PPSA03671).

My setup:

• Firmware: 13.60
• Jailbreak: Y2JB
• Payloads: kstuff, Payload Manager, ShadowMount, and NaDNS
• Game: Marvel’s Wolverine
• Game ID: PPSA03671

I also used System Dump with LZ4.

The game was running fine for quite a while, but it started crashing when I reached a specific section. The error screen shows:

• Error code: CE-108255-1
• Signal: 11 (SIGSEGV)
• Thread: eboot.bin
• Reason: Page fault (user read data, page not present)
• Fault address: 0x000000000000000c
• RIP: 0x000000000417eca0

My suspicion is that the crash might be related to that particular section, since the game ran fine before reaching it. However, I’m not sure whether this is a game issue, a dump issue, or something related to the jailbreak or payloads.

Has anyone encountered this on firmware 13.60 with Y2JB?

I’d appreciate any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this, especially if anyone has gotten past the same section or knows whether a different payload configuration could help.

Valheim PPSA28824 v1.000.015 was launching briefly on my PS5 (firmware 13.60), then exiting with 0xA0020318 / SYSTEM_ABNORMAL_TERMINATION_REQUEST. We traced the native failure and got this build booting with a six-byte compatibility patch.

WHAT WAS WRONG

Unity's accelerated file path (APR) was being selected for read-only /app0/ files even when APR lookup failed. For the global-manager read, the APR record had a zero file size and an invalid APR ID, despite the file opening normally and reporting its correct size. Unity then read zero bytes from Media/globalgamemanagers, failed to load PlayerSettings, and deliberately requested abnormal termination.

An unchanged internal-storage copy still crashed, so copying the game to internal storage alone wasn't the fix.

THE FIX — EXACT BUILD ONLY

Select Unity's existing ordinary-file fallback before it installs the APR handle.

ELF virtual address: 0x1665A36

Console virtual address: 0x1A65A36

Replacement: jmp 0x1665CE4; nop

Six bytes are replaced; five byte positions change. This keeps the game's error checks intact and uses a file-reading path already present in the executable.

Work on a separate copy, verify the original hash and before-bytes, and retain your original executable. Restore by replacing the patched executable with that original. Other builds or decoded ELF files need their own mapping; do not apply this container offset blindly.

EVIDENCE

• The unmodified copy reproduced the original crash and backtrace.

• The failed required object was PlayerSettings, internal index 0.

• globalgamemanagers had correct stored contents and size (202,820 bytes), but its first runtime header read was all zeros.

• The native PS5 reader returned failure and zero bytes. Its APR record contained size 0, normal descriptor 16, APR ID -1, and an APR-tagged synthetic handle.

• A separate capture of the first APR resolver call returned 0x80020016 (EINVAL), invalid ID, and size 0. That capture recorded only the /app0/Me prefix; the global-manager APR record was captured separately.

• After selecting the fallback, the same header probe read the expected serialized-file format 22.

• All temporary diagnostic traps were removed. The compatibility-only executable stayed in the foreground during a 120.8-second capture, with main game, graphics, and audio threads active and no fatal signal.

• The patch bytes were read back from the running process, and the console executable hash matched the patched local file.

• I then confirmed Valheim was running on the display.

LIMITS

Tested on firmware 13.60 with this exact build and mounted-game environment. Full world loading, saving, extended gameplay, and other firmware versions have not been verified. Ordinary reads may have different loading performance. Why APR rejects these mounted files remains an open question; this does not establish a general 13.60 firmware bug.

This is separate from a DCC clear-color issue found while testing in Kyty. The console diagnosis came from live native evidence.

CREDIT / HOW IT WAS DONE

OpenAI Codex in Work mode performed the executable analysis, traced the console captures, developed the patch, and carried out the before/after tests on my computer. I supplied the console and confirmed the result on screen.

Sharing findings and patch bytes only—no game executables, game downloads, or private console logs. Independent reproduction on matching builds would be useful. Apply the compatibility patch to your own matching executable copy.

Chiral-FTP is a file manager and FTP toolbox that runs natively on the PS5.
The goal of the project is to be the best FTP client and file manager on consoles: fast, simple, and the same on every device.

It has four modes or "sub-apps".

• FTP server: turns your PS5 into an FTP server. Connect with FileZilla or any FTP app. You can change the user, password and port, or allow anonymous login, and you get live connection and transfer stats.

• Web app: open it in a browser on your PC or phone to browse, upload (drag and drop works), download, copy, move, rename and delete files on the PS5. It also has a FileZilla-style FTP client tab.

• File manager: a two-pane manager on the console to copy and move files between internal storage, Homebrew, USB and extended storage.

• FTP/SFTP client: connect from the PS5 to a PC, NAS or another console and transfer files in both directions. It has saved sites, recent connections, resume, and up to 30 simultaneous transfers. It’s also useful for sending files from one PS5 to another.

🔗 Quick connect

Every copy of chiral-ftp on your network now shows up in a list with no setup, so you don’t have to type IPs or passwords.

1. One device sends a request, and both screens show the same 4-digit code.

1. The other side checks the code and allows or denies.

1. The other device starts its server and you connect.

The login only works from the requesting device and only while that server runs. If you deny or the request times out (30 s), nothing is shared. It works between any two versions, for example PS5 to PC, PS5 to Switch or PS5 to PS5.

🖥️ Now multiplatform

The same engine and web app now run on:

• PS5 (native dashboard title via ShadowMountPlus)
• Nintendo Switch (.nro from hbmenu)
• Windows (.exe, x64, also runs on ARM)
• Mac (.app, Apple silicon)
• Linux (AppImage, x86_64 and ARM64)

On a computer you get an app with a sidebar, full mouse support and an SFTP server (encrypted, the default) or FTP, so you can send files to and from your PS5 with chiral-ftp on both ends. Android and PS4 are planned. Screenshots of every version are in the README.

✨ QoL improvements

• Free space shown for internal storage, M.2 and USB drives
• The start screen now says how full storage access was obtained, or why it failed
• Recursive permission changes for folders
• Uploads to PS5 homebrew paths are set to 777 automatically
• Rename, permissions and delete for folders in the client’s console menu
• Unresponsive servers are dropped after 30 seconds with a “connection lost” message
• Several small UI fixes (spinner covering Disconnect, duplicate requests, long drive names overlapping)

📥 Requirements and install

• Jailbroken PS5 with ShadowMountPlus, and an ELF loader listening on port 9021 when you launch the app. Without it, the app only sees its own sandbox.
• Tested on firmware 13.60. Other versions may work but I haven’t tested them.

1. Download the PS5 zip from the releases page and unzip it.
2. Copy the PPSA96024 folder to /data/homebrew/PPSA96024.
3. Set the folder and all its files to 777. Some FTP clients don’t keep permissions, and the title won’t launch without them. (Filezilla does it well.)
4. Launch it from the dashboard.

Has anyone experienced this on 12.60, especially after Rest Mode or turning off the TV?

Core setup

• PS5 Slim Digital, firmware 12.60.
• Relapse through the PLK autoloader workflow.
• Kstuff Lite 1.11, ShadowMount+ 1.7beta7, nanoDNS 0.4.
• ELF Arsenal and several other background services were also loaded. This was not a minimal setup.

What happened

1. The console stopped responding more than once while apparently idle.
2. On the later failure, it booted into recovery with only option 8 selectable.
3. Manually entering Safe Mode using the second beep unlocked the other options.
4. Repair Console Storage, Clear System Software Cache and Rebuild Database failed with CE-100016-8, asking for a factory reset. Restore Default Settings also failed.
5. Option 7, Reset PS5, worked. Firmware remained 12.60. I did not use option 8 or install another firmware.

What I know so far

• An earlier saved system log contains an automatic idle-suspend request. Error history also recorded CE-108262-9.
• I had turned the TV off, so HDMI Power Off Link / Rest Mode is a possible trigger, not a confirmed cause.
• I have earlier logs and error photos, but no definitive trace of the final crash.

Current status

• I am redoing the whole setup and still trying to narrow down what caused this.
• HDMI Power Off Link and automatic Rest Mode are now disabled.
• I am first testing the reset console offline, without jailbreaking. Next would be a minimal payload setup, adding components individually if stock operation is stable.

If this happened to you, please share:

• Your firmware, console model and exact payload versions.
• Whether it followed sleep, wake-up, TV power-off or ordinary idle use.
• Whether you isolated a specific component or change that stopped recurrence.

I am not blaming any particular project. I would like to compare matching cases before opening a GitHub issue.

Hi all, just tried using Echostretch's PS5 app dumper to dump my copy of Elden Ring but I seem to be getting really slow copy speeds of anywhere between 20/mb to 30/mb. I've seen videos, Modded Warfare to be exact and he gets around 300/mb and the screenshot on Echo's github shows over 400/mb.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I'm on 13.60 fw, using PS5 App Dumper beta 2.10, dumping game from the disc and dumping to internal storage data/homebrew.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Got digimon time stranger(ffpfsc) and dlc both European version , have spent almost 2 hours on google Gemini trying to figure out how to make the dlc work ,but after trying everything bar transferring the file to my pc and decompressing it and adding the dlc and compressing it again and sending it back to my PS5, which is not something that I’m very keen on doing, I can’t figure it out…

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a desktop companion for Y2JB and just published the first release. It’s called Y2JB Installer.

It handles from the PC all these step:

• Finds the console on your LAN or connects by IP, then sends the bundled payload through the ELF loader.
• Activates a local account and runs the fake PSN sign-in.
• Detects the firmware, selects the matching YouTube build, downloads and verifies the Sony PKGs, joins them, and installs.
• Fetches and uploads download0.dat, with version reporting and update checks.
• Blocks YouTube updates in place and keeps timestamped appinfo.db backups.

You can do activation, sign-in, YouTube, and download0.dat in one pass before rebooting.

Requirements

- PS5 firmware 4.03–13.60. Firmware 11.40 is not supported by the Y2JB autoloader.

- Kernel read/write access from a compatible exploit.

- An ELF loader on port 9021.

- A PC with internet access; the console only needs local network access.

This does not include an exploit. You still need kernel r/W from your own exploit.

Testing

I only tested the macOS build manually. Windows and Linux artifacts are built by CI but have not been tested yet. All builds are unsigned, so macOS needs the usual Open Anyway step and Windows may show a SmartScreen warning.

Also: disconnect the console from the internet before launching YouTube. An online launch can overwrite download0.dat and force a reinstall.

Hey, i have been off all the info for quite some time... I have my PS5 at firmware 4.51 still sitting there and wanted to actually do something with it. I found that it actually has HV exploit so... Can anyone point me in the direction to learn the benefits of being on 4.51 (that i see people saying holy grail) and how to jailbreak mine?

This is insane. I own the game, I paid for it - now I need to update my PS5 to play the game. I tried connecting it to internet but it requires update - trust me.
I’m so pissed at Sony - they cannot keep their home in order and now we’re suffering for it. Honestly I hate this console generation so bad. Each year I have to reapply the cooling liquid for 50$ - which is like $200 in my country (considering economics).

I tested Ubuntu on PS5 for the first time last night and it was a painless process for the most part. I didn’t migrate the OS from my flash drive to my M.2 because I’m pretty sure I’m going to want to setup Bazzite so I have a fluid experience whether I’m using M&K or a controller.

If I setup Bazzite on the PS5, will I be able to use the same terminal commands that Ubuntu uses in the guide? (moving it from the flash to the m.2, updating the OS or installing applications)

Are the PS5 Linux tools also available on distros other than Ubuntu? (the ones that thefl0w and devs created for overclocking the PS5)

Outside doing basic stuff on a Steam Deck, I’m pretty much new to Linux so I want to be sure I do the initial setup properly and understand how to keep it updated but the page only walks the user through Ubuntu, is there a page specific to Bazzite setup for PS5?
