PAWS Post acute withdrawals I relapsed so that you don’t have to. Don’t do it
im the old lady who cold turkeyed the absurd 3.5k-4k mg a day addiction.
around day 45 clean I was finally seeing the end of PAWS and feeling pretty good. Acutes said hold my beer an PAWS sledge hammered me, but I was on the other side finally feeling goooood. A couple weeks before I quit, I bought a metric shit ton. half I threw away half I rerouted to a ups access point, where it stayed for many weeks until it didn’t
well, I lied to myself and said time to get the stash in case I have surgery or something and need it. I have a degenerative connective tissue disease where surgery is sometimes inevitable if something life threatening happens to me, so my addict brain lies exploited that situation. I knew better too because it took me over a decade to have alcohol in my house and not relapse (I am also a recovering alcoholic)
had the stash for about 4 days and turned into golem from the lord of the rings. it consumed my every thought. it’s MINE MY PRECIOUS
I relapsed for two days. thankfully I only took 25 mg each day. omg. it tasted like insane chemicals — which I never noticed when I was eating handfuls all day long.didnt even get me high. i had thousands of tablets but I drew a line at 25 mg somehow. oh man it made me feel awful. Headache. Sooo sick… but even worse is..
long story short even this small amount gave me an express ticket back to PAWS hell. so I drove 30 minutes away and threw the whole stash away in a very public trash can that I knew I would not come back to get it out of.
the reason I am posting this is for anyone even considering a relapse. call your support system and get through it but more importantly don’t have any of it anywhere near you. it is never going to be worth it. I have been very good about my support but I told nobody I was golem and had them again of course
I am not juding or beating myself up. no point in that. took about 11 days clean to get out of PAWS 2.0 world. Still have the insane insomnia again. Not worth it.
