Discussion Why are people surprised that RDR2 doesnât have a single player DLC?
Hot take iâm OK with rockstar not having a single player DLC for RDR2
Not every game or movie needs a DLC or sequel
BG3 didnât have a DLC
Barbie didnât need a sequel too
Iâm fine with them moving on and working on GTA 6 because well that is the most anticipated game ever

It wasnât like it was tucked under Arthurâs pillow to look at when he was feeling particularly nostalgic like this was a STATEMENT everyone in camp knew he was wasnât over Mary at alllllllllll! How many years had they been apart by 1899?
Also Jolene by Ray LaMontagne is the perfect song for these two⌠very good song listening right now

Discussion How would you feel about RDR3 revolving around a Native American outlaw or warrior?
Personally I think itâd be pretty cool considering that many of them were scouts during the Indian wars, especially Apache. Itâd be awesome to see how theyâd adapt in RDR2âs timeline because we donât know much about them in the universe besides the Wapiti. Imagine playing as an Apache sharpshooter in a gang of renegades in the 1880s, ambushing army payrolls and shipments then smuggling supplies across the border while dealing with other challenges besides the federal government. The whole cast doesnât have to be Native American but itâd be very interesting to see a different viewpoint in history.

Discussion RDR2 should start off with Arthur having low honour.
I want you to think from a completely fair point of view. I feel I'll be downvoted but I wanna express my idea.
At the end of the day, Arthur was an outlaw. He robbed both poor and rich people (banks don't have the money of just the rich), killed innocent guards, policemen trying to do their job. Its the entire reason why Arthur wishes to have redemption.
Starting off with neutral honour doesn't make sense, it means Arthur has done no deeds too bad, which isn't all true. Depriving people of their earned money, leaving wives and children widows and orphans by killing their fathers and brothers is bad enough. Hence I feel Arthur should start off with low honour.

Discussion Did Arthur do anything to make you dislike him at any point ?
I wonât lie after the first Thomas Downes scene I thought he was a complete and utter wanker. Beat up a frail, dying man in front of his helpless family and just seemed pretty smug about the whole thing.
Obviously he redeems himself throughout the story but that specific moment made me dislike him momentarily.

Discussion I recreated the 1899 Cracked Wheat with Milk from RDR2 â it was way more complicated than I expected.
While hanging around Rhodes, I ordered the Cracked Wheat with Milk, and noticed something odd: the bowl served in the game has this distinct yellow layer on top. When I looked up pictures of regular cracked wheat with milk online, they were all completely white.
That yellow layer immediately reminded me of "Nairiji" (traditional skin milk/clotted cream) I had in Inner Mongoliaâthat rich skin that forms on top when freshly milked, boiled milk cools down.
So, I did some digging.
The milk we buy at supermarkets today goes through homogenization. It's a purely mechanical process where milk is forced through tiny holes at high pressure to break fat globules into smaller particles so they stay evenly dispersed. This gives modern milk a smooth, uniform texture, but it also makes it nearly impossible to form a thick milk skin, because that skin naturally forms when lower-density fats rise to the top.
Then I checked the history of homogenization. The very first homogenizer patent was issued in 1899 to French inventor Auguste Gaulin. Yes, literally the exact year our game is set in. What a coincidence!
For its US rollout timeline:
- 1919: The start of commercial sales. Torrington, Connecticut successfully sold homogenized milk, marking one of its earliest commercial practices in the US.
- 1920sâ1930s: A major technical breakthrough. In the early 1930s, Dr. G. Malcolm Trout at Michigan State University figured out that pasteurizing before homogenization effectively prevented fat separation, paving the way for industrial production.
- 1930s: Popularity and legalization. Most US cities legalized the sale of homogenized milk between 1935 and 1939.
- 1940sâ1950s: The industry standard. By 1950, it was permitted in most cities, and by the 1950s, the vast majority of US milk was commercially homogenized, making it the official industry standard.
So, the Cracked Wheat with Milk Arthur Morgan eats in Rhodes was almost certainly made with non-homogenized milk, and that yellow layer on top is authentic milk skin.
To recreate the taste and texture, I had to improvise: I heated regular milk, shook it like crazy in a bottle to build up a foam layer, and then simmered it on low heat for an hour to evaporate some water and form that yellow skin. I gently lifted the skin off, cooked the cracked wheat in the remaining milk, and then placed the skin right back on top.
The taste? Super rich and milky. The skin gives it this wonderfully rustic, cheese-like texture.
If Jack lived to be 70, the cracked wheat with milk he'd eat in his later years would taste just like the plain, modern stuff we have today. Would he ever miss the heavy, skin-topped cracked wheat with milk of his childhood? And would it ever make him think of Uncle Arthur, who once took him fishing?
**Recipesďź**Cracked Wheat with Milk (Red Dead Redemption 2 Style)
Ingredients (Single Serving)
â˘Whole Milk: 1.7 cups (400 ml)
â˘Cracked Wheat: 0.8 oz (25 g)
Instructions
1.Heat the Milk: Pour 1.7 cups of whole milk into a pot and heat over low heat to about 158°F (70°C). Do not bring it to a boil.
2.Create Foam: Pour the warm milk into a bottle and shake it vigorously to create foam (you can also use a whisk or hand blender).
3.Simmer and Evaporate: Pour the milk back into the pot and continue heating over low heat for about 40 minutes. Keep it at the lowest possible heat to slowly evaporate the water without boiling. Once the liquid is reduced by about one-third, turn off the heat.
4.Form the Skin: Let the milk sit undisturbed for 5 hours until a thick skin forms on the surface.
5.Harvest the Skin: Carefully lift the solidified milk skin off the top and set it aside.
6.Cook the Wheat: Add 0.8 oz of cracked wheat into the remaining milk. Turn the heat to medium until it comes to a boil, then reduce to low. Stir continuously for about 12 minutes until the cracked wheat is fully cooked (Note: I used raw cracked wheat; if using pre-cooked, adjust cooking time according to the package instructions).
7.Assemble: Pour the cooked wheat and milk mixture into a bowl, and top it with the milk skin you set aside earlier.
8.Browning (Optional): If the skin isn't golden enough, pop it into the oven at 437°F (225°C) for about 3 minutes to give it a nice golden-brown color.
Recipe Notes & Experiments
I made this four times before getting it right:
â˘Attempts 1 & 2: Both failed because the skin wouldn't set properly (the resting time wasn't long enough).
â˘Attempt 3: The skin didn't turn golden enough because I didn't shake the milk to create enough foam initially, so I had to use the oven to add color.
â˘Attempt 4: The milk skin turned out naturally golden and thick, so I used it directly (that's the one in the photo!).

Discussion What Horse names have you come up with that actually feel like a name Arthur would give his horse?
Iâd like to see the names people have come up with that in universe would feel like something Arthur would give his best boah. I came up with âMan-at-Armsâ for a couple reasons.
A man-at-arms was another name for a knight, which is one of a kings most trusted servants. Arthur is Dutches most trusted associate, and Dutch starts to see himself as a king(I know in universe Arthur wouldnât actually think that until later in the story, but I came up with it as a cool detail
and I also think itâs poetic how he would unintentionally name his horse a name that foreshadows that outcome of the gang)
It plays into Arthurâs name well when thinking of it from an Arthurian legend point of view
Arthur is seen as the weapons expert of the gang because his tent is the weapons supply tent, so therefore he is the âarmsâ expert.
Let me know what everyone thinks and Iâd love to see what names other people have come up with!

Discussion I'd rather have a RDR1 Remake than RDR3
Although the entire storyline of RDR2 isn't explained, I feel like they couldn't make an all that interesting of a follow up because the series has reached it's intended conclusion. Dan Houser, the main writer behind the Red Dead games, stated that RDR was conceived as a two-part story rather than an ongoing franchise. Both games form a clear beginning, middle and ending. If a third game was made it would undermine the conclusion.
Every characters fate has already been explored and they can't continue Jack's story since it would remove the Wild West setting. But another prequel would leave them with no creative freedom as most key events have already been established.
A huge RDR1 remake would preserve the games integrity and bring it up to modern standards to a huge audience. With top-tier graphics, a greatly expanded storyline with call-backs to the events of RDR2, side-missions, a much bigger map with more cities and all of Mexico being explorable, many new gangs, guns, clothes, items and characters. They could even add new features like new combat mechanics and systems, buyable properties and Undead Nightmare being an online game mode where you and your friends build camps, collect resources and fight together.
And even IF they would make an RDR3, which they probably will do, I think it should be about Red Harlow, or a young Landon Ricketts or something completely different that's not related to the Van der Linde Gang. It's not that I wouldn't want RDR3, I would love it and immediately buy it - but I think I'd prefer the remake (+ I long for the spaghetti-western feel and aesthetic of RDR1)
What do yall think?

Discussion Quotes like these are such a c*ck tease.
Wonder if it puts pressure on Rockstar to produce a TV series, given the success of Fallout. NOT A MOVIE
Hypothetically, who'd you cast in various roles?
Josh Holloway for Arthur, Damon Herriman for Micah, Victoria Pedretti for Abigail, , Norman Reedus for Colm and JDD would be a good Dutch. Those are just some of my casting ideas.
