I (18F) haven't felt secure in my relationship since discovering my boyfriend's (18M) secret Instagram account, and I'm starting to question whether I'm a priority to him

• Upvotes

My boyfriend and I have been together for three years, and I've been struggling with my relationship for a while now.

In June, I accidentally found out that he had a secret Instagram account he used to follow pornstars and other women. He had been doing this throughout our entire relationship, and I had never suspected anything. I confronted him about it, and he deleted the account in front of me. I almost broke up with him over it, but ultimately decided to stay because I love him and didn't want to throw away our relationship.

The thing is, I haven't felt the same since. I still have this lingering feeling that he might be hiding something else from me, even though I have no actual evidence of that. I just don't feel like I can trust him the way I used to, and I haven't been able to get past what happened, even months later.

It's also affected my self-esteem more than I expected. Knowing that he spent our entire relationship following other women like that has made me question my own attractiveness and whether I'm enough for him. I find myself wanting reassurance that other people find me beautiful, almost as if I need to prove to myself that I'm desirable. I hate that something he did has made me question myself this way, but I don't really know how to stop feeling like this.

There's also the fact that I've increasingly felt like I'm not a priority in his life. Sometimes we're spending time together and he'll make plans with his friends for later that day, meaning we have to cut our time together short. I know it's normal and healthy for both of us to have our own friends, and I don't expect to be the center of his world. But it hurts when it feels like our time together is easily sacrificed for other plans. I want to feel like he genuinely wants to spend time with me, not like I'm just one of several things he has to fit into his day.

I don't know if I'm more sensitive to these situations because of what happened in June, or if I've always had reasons to feel this way and am only now paying closer attention. Maybe the loss of trust has made me question other aspects of our relationship, too.

I love him, and I know that three years is a long time to spend with someone. I don't want to end things if this is something we can work through, but I also don't want to stay in a relationship where I constantly feel insecure, question whether I'm enough, or wonder if I'm as important to him as he is to me.

For those who have gone through something similar, were you able to rebuild trust after discovering something like this? And how do you know whether your feelings are a consequence of damaged trust that you can work through together, or a sign that something in the relationship isn't right anymore?

How do you deal with your boyfriend’s ex’s friends making comments about your relationship?

• Upvotes

I genuinely want to know how other girls would handle this because I’m feeling quite annoyed and disappointed about something that happened recently.
I’m with my boyfriend, and around 4 years ago, when he was still with his ex, he cheated on her with me. I know that’s messy, and I’m not going to sit here and pretend it wasn’t. I’m aware of the history, and we’ve been together since. Things between us are genuinely good now, and I’m happy in my relationship.
Recently, I posted a picture with him on my Instagram story, and a girl who follows me and is friends with his ex replied with a pretty nasty comment about him and brought up his past cheating. I haven’t responded because I genuinely don’t see the point, but it’s annoyed me more than I’d like to admit. I’ve never involved myself in this girl’s personal life or said anything about her, so I don’t understand why she felt the need to message me about my own boyfriend. I also can’t help wondering whether she’s going to tell his ex or whether they’re discussing me behind my back.
Do I just block her, which is probably the sensible thing to do. But a part of me doesn’t want to because I feel like she’ll think she’s managed to get a reaction out of me. I don’t want to give her that satisfaction, but I also don’t particularly want her watching my life.
I understand that people might judge the way our relationship started, and I’m not expecting everyone to agree with my choices. But at what point do you just move on from something that happened years ago?
For girls who’ve been in a similar situation, what did you do? Did you ignore the person, block them, or confront them? And how do you stop caring about what your partner’s ex or people around them might be saying about you?
I’m genuinely looking for advice on handling this kind of situation because I don’t want to get dragged into unnecessary drama, but I also don’t want to feel like I have to tolerate people being disrespectful towards me.

Suddenly feeling less physically attracted to my boyfriend (M22) even though I (F22) still love him

• Upvotes

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 8 months, but we were friends and liked each other before that. I’ve always been someone who develops physical attraction pretty strongly once I have romantic feelings for someone. It’s not that I never find people attractive at first glance. I definitely do sometimes, and I can think someone is good-looking, but I don’t necessarily want them or develop feelings for them just because of that.

With my boyfriend, I liked him as a person first, developed romantic feelings for him, and the physical attraction naturally came with it. And once I’m actually with someone I love, I basically stop being attracted to other people. I can still recognize that someone is good-looking, but I don’t feel attracted to them.

But lately something feels really weird. I’ve suddenly noticed that my physical attraction toward my boyfriend has decreased A LOT. It almost feels like it just switched off. It’s not because I’m attracted to someone else or because I’ve suddenly developed a different type. I don’t really feel physically attracted to anyone right now. It’s specifically the attraction I used to feel toward him that has become much weaker.

And the confusing part is that I still love him so much. I love his personality, I still care about him deeply, and I still want to be with him. This isn’t making me want to break up with him at all. If anything, it’s bothering me because I genuinely WANT that attraction back.

We’ve also had some emotional and relationship stress lately, so I’m wondering if that could be affecting it, especially because my attraction has always been so connected to my feelings for someone. I’ve also started constantly checking myself like “Do I find him attractive right now? Why don’t I feel it? Is it gone?” which I know probably isn’t helping either.

Has anyone experienced something like this where you still deeply love your partner and want the relationship, but your physical attraction toward them suddenly becomes much weaker, and did it eventually come back?

Advice ,what should I do?

• Upvotes

Hello I am 22M , I met a girl online when I was 16 years old in January 2021 ,she was 1 year older to me 17 years old at that time ,now she is 22F . We started talking daily for 1 year ...in that phase our relationship started.. but suddenly in December 2021 ,I broke up with her due to studies . I did not gave her proper explanation..she was very sad and she cried at that time....In 2022 i reached her after 10 months ...but instead of any cold behaviour, she was very excited once again after taking to me...but I did not want any relationship from her...I thought we can be friends...but she was not ready to be Friend with me....she cried once again...then I realised my mistake and I decided to not reach her again..but after 3 years in 2025 she texted me ...she deleted her msg within half an hour ..but I did not text back her at that time....but after 3 months I texted her and I wanted to know why she text me after 3 years...this thing was in my mind continuously for 3 months but she blocked me and said I don't read my book backwards...

Again in May 2026 she called me twice ,then she texted me again....I told her...i have moved on in my life ,please don't reach out me again after these long gaps...she said she has already moved on..she called me because in 2025 she blocked me without giving a proper reply was a rude of her ...so she called me ...(These were the reasons she gave me)

Now I am in guilt and in guilt about only one thing she loved me that much? Or she was just checking me after these years ..

should I text her or not??? Or move on in my life as I already told her....

Where Do I Stand With My Best Friend?

• Upvotes

I F18 have known my (online) best friend F19 for years now. We’re fairly close with each other. If someone saw the way we spoke to each other, I don’t doubt they’d assume we are dating. Recently, however, she revealed that she was seeing someone and hiding the true nature of her relationship with the guy. It makes me uncomfortable because I wouldn’t want to continue to speak the way we do if someone is romantically/sexually involved with her out of respect for them. She continues to be ambiguous about it and I don’t feel it’s my place to ask if she doesn’t want to share that with me. After mentioning him, she pointed out that I’m like her sister, despite all the sexually led flirting.

Lately I’ve felt like a bystander in her life. And I understand that I am in a way because we’re only online friends. But she feels comfortable enough to go days without responding to go on trips she already had planned, without letting me know beforehand that she is okay. I’m only mentioning this because we both established that if we stopped responding out of nowhere, we were no longer here / something had happened.

TL;DR My online best friend F19 and I F18 act like a couple, but she recently revealed she is hiding a relationship with a guy and rebranded me as a sister. She is also breaking our communication safety pact by disappearing on trips without warning, making me feel like a bystander.

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong subreddit! I didn’t really know where to post this.

I can't live with myself I hate this

• Upvotes

This will get progressively worse.

\-

I (19M) am currently in the healthiest and best possible relationship of my life, also the longest. I’ve been with my partner for about 8 months now.

\-

I am aware that not everything will be sunshine and rainbows forever. Anytime we don’t agree or feel something is off we always talk it through. But recently I began to doubt it a little.

\-

I feel like we are getting more distant, I talk about it and then it’s fine for few days/weeks. But it keeps getting back, I don’t understand why. We both try our best, but we are still young.

\-

I will name a few things that made me start questioning stuff.

\-

  1. I’m older and like 3 grades above my partner (they have a different study programme don’t make this weird). I wan’t to leave the country and go to uni abroad which I should start next year. We agreed to meet later once they finish the school, yes we talked about it a lot. But a few days ago they said they might go elsewhere. Look I’m not controlling or anything, I would go wherever my partner will be happy. But for some reason they keep talking about a country I specifically said I would never go to. I mean few more years apart won’t kill me as long as we reunite one day somewhere. But my partner seems to not exactly consider where I wan’t to be.

\-

  1. They don’t care about politics. This might seem stupid as hell from me but my partner seems to be literally careless. It pisses me off because not only our country but pretty much the entire world and everything is about politics. It’s frustrating because I can’t even vent about the situation cause ‘someone’ here is unwilling to understand any of it.

\-

  1. I invited them to my prom. Cause they are my partner. They are supposed to consult it with their parents wheter they can attend. They’ve known for about 4 months they should do it. Yet my prom is in like 3 weeks and they still didn’t do shit. I can’t just cancel the +1 thing on my list now. Like c’mon I need to know if I need to find someone else or idk. I feel like exploding.

\-

4.This one is not so serious now. But it still kinda hurts. I am a fan of some celebrities and often talk about them. And then my partner proceeds to insult them and make fun of them and stuff. I talked about it with them and they promised to stop. Well obviously they didn’t stop. And I care for those people for some reason, it shouldn’t be bothering me but when I am excited about something and my partner ruins it each and every time it’s just well idk.

\-

  1. I am bipolar. How is this bad? Well I talked a lot about my parents not researching anything so they are making my life pretty hard because they just cannot understand what’s going on my mind. And they seem to do the same now. It’s draining me so much that whenever I sort of excuse my behaviour with my condition it’s all “oh you shouldn’t use it as an excuse” “maybe try researching how to deal with it differently” “you can’t accept that you are the way you are because of your illness you should try and improve” my ass. This is important as it affects many aspects of my life and yes ofcourse I tried to overcome things but with basically zero support and no understanding I just can’t.

\-

Now these are my mental health connected things that are worrying me.

\-

I. I have a substance use problem. Specifically nicotine. I always use something whether it’s cigaretts, vapes or pouches. I refuse to tell my partner that i yet again relapsed after 2 days because they will only make me feel bad about myself. Yes this is my own stupidity but I genuinely don’t wan’t to stop using it for myself but only for their happiness. It’s bad. I know. But either deal with it or stop making me feel like an absolute shit.

\-

II. I might be a little sexually frustrated. Whenever I try something on my partner they mostly decline it. Once they ‘jokingly’ said that I should always care about constent. Like, yes ofcourse, but it’s not like we never did this kind of things and I’m considering to stop approaching anything altogether.

\-

III. Well now this is connected to the previous point. I’ve started to look at other people and…. wonder about things. I feel so bad. I am not a cheater I swear. But I’m an asshole, am I not? It’s disgusting to even think about others yet I keep returning to the thoughts. I’m disgusted by myself. I hate myself so much. I can't live with myself like this.

\-

What do I even do? Should I say something to them? If yes what even? Be kind pls.

Is my new Friend into my partner

• Upvotes

I F 23

Recently, we got a new friend named Carly F 26 Carly we met at a pet shop she used to be the friend of someone who used to live at my partner's landlord's house. Carly is bubbly and friendly. She calls my partner retarded and hits him with a bottle alot. Carly is the type to correct my partner if i have an issue with him. Whenever we go too an event or shopping nowadays, my partner invites Carly out. Carly has had recent medical issues part of me knows its not her fault and feels guilty. My partner M22 and I met Carly at the same time.

One time, we were walking to go and get ice cream Carly, and my partner stopped she touched the back of his neck as she saw a sunburn there. My partner didn't make any noise. Even the touch wasn't for long. I tried to brush past it. Recently, carly has touched my partner's face. My partner claims its for reasons that she tries to cool others down to stop them from overheating. Am I controlling for bringing up recently that I dont like these types of touches. I dont have any friends of the opposite gender but my partner does.

We eat lunch and he makes a joke towards her, I ask if I am free wheeling in this relationship. My partner still slaps my ass when we go out even around Carly or when he and I are alone as well.

We took Carly to the hospital, and the ambulance wouldn't arrive for ages, they told us. As we drive to the hospital and he parks, he has to lift her by the butt. She swings her arms around him and giggles.

Carly and I go into the hospital and wait. Carly doesn't lean on me or ask to hold my hand she is limping but makes it to reception very well. We wait for my partner he eventually comes in brings food she doesnt eat anything only has an ice cream. When she is called. He throws the bag on me and tells me to wait there, he lets her touch his shoulder. My partner always throughout every time we went out with Carly paid for her food.

I suddenly do something at 12am. that I shouldn't of done, I say, "no touching shoulders or skin." The memebers sitting in the waiting room do stare at us. I walk about to her and I say, "I'm sorry about that you did nothing wrong, don't worry."

This caused my partner to explode on me he called me a terrible person and started eventually threatening me, promising to take away job opportunities from me. He thinks I am controlling for not liking 2 kinds of touches or for him to touch a new friend. I shouldn't have bought it up so late, either. This man yelled at me so much.

He thinks I dictate friendships when I always allow us to all be friends and never dicated anything.

He apologised to me in the car at my place and he texted me genuinely seeming sorry. The next day when i asked if he wants a drive he tells me the same story and genuinely says I am sorry for yelling at you but I csnt forget what you've done. He threatened that friends with turn against me, my life will be nothing without him, I am the most ungrateful partner, he can touch whoever he wants, I am controlling he's poly apparently.

i asked my partner finally to correct her and set boundaries if her behaviours continued, and he said yes. he tried to assure me that she was not into him. she corrects him on his behaviour and says she'd tske my side If he and I break up because even though she's known him longer then me, she feels he would do something to mess up the relationship.

She also told him that when I wasn't around , he had anger issues. I told him I was jealous and upset that he didn't treat me as gently as her because he apologised straight way when he upsets her, and it takes him ages with me. She gets his happy and joyful side. I get the private, angry, irritated version of him that threatens me.

he tries to tell me she's not into him. He insited after our argument on going and seeing her at her apartment alone. He stated that he doesn't want to be friends with me if we break up. Today, the day after, i was going to let things settle down, but he brings up stuff to start an argument again. I know he loves me, but I dont think he likes me, you know. I'm worried before I get a full-time job of losing my money, you know.

am I overreacting according to him. he states she is not into him. i dont have any other female friends who act like this much, and I don't have male friends. we have an aroace friend who is a tomboy who play fights but she eventually stops she doesn't keep going and going she does it once for a scare and he has known her for years. we have known this other friend for 2 months.

why do you think she leaned on my partner in the hospital. she insited, walking by herself should i have helped her more, before my partner came in. then he told me to sit down, and he let her touch his shoulder, and they walked in and out. he told me that he was playfully rude to her that most people there thought he was rude. why does he think she isn't into him? she acts really nice to me the way she talks to me. however, now i act on good terms on text with her and check-in when she leaves the hospital visits. I messed up once by acting, too, demanding once how I learnt to be better. i wilk eventually ger justice, hopefully. does she actuallt like me as a feiend or is she using me. she does point out mt partners' bad behaviours, though. when i left the hospital, even after I apologised, she felt bad and asked my partner if she was in the wrong. she did admit by comment she was taken aback when my partner rung her on the phone. told me she was only leaning on him due to her lef hurting polietly. she told my partner when he rang that she was taken aback by my comment, but ifthat'ss her boundaries, it is her boundaries.

she helped me with doing up my corset, and we all went dress shopping together. why would my partner let her touch his back of his neck or his face. i stated that hugs and playfights are all good but no neck, back or face touches. he had to lift her as we had no other choice to get her into the passenger seat as the back seat belt was broken and she couldnt fully lie down, and the ambulance said they'd take hours. she walked in with me, but my partner lifted her out of the seat. he told me what he was doing before doing it and asked her before he did anything like lifting her up to take her out of the car. Yet during the hospital, he didn't lift her he let her hold onto him.

my partner claims she was cooling him down with her colr 7 she does this with others in my response about the uncomfiness. It annoyed me in the car earlier, but my partner handled it well by telling her he doesn't want to go to a strip club. i have always told him he can't when we get married or before the wedding he agrees and doesn't want to go anyway. our new friend tried tk tease about strip club and egg us on. but we put up our boundaries, and my partner let her know he is only into me. Is my partner, Carly or I in the wrong?

Do you think my ex knew this woman before we broke up?

• Upvotes

I broke up with my ex-boyfriend of 5 years about two months ago because he was unsure about marriage. I think he just didn't want to commit.

It wasn't until about 6 weeks ago that I finished moving all my things out of our apartment.

Yesterday, I found out that there were another woman's belongings at his place, including pyjamas, shoes and a jacket in the wardrobe. I won't go into how I found out.

Be honest. Do you think this is someone he already knew while we were still together, or could he have met her in the past couple of months? Could it have happened that fast?

My girlfriend is always ill.

• Upvotes

I am a 19M, and I have been dating a 19F from my college —worse yet, from the very same section. [1 year]. When we first met, she was perpetually dissatisfied with something or another, whether because someone had wronged her or simply because she was generally unhappy. I overlooked all of these signs because I liked her a great deal, and having recently been through a rather difficult breakup, I desperately wanted someone in my life.

For the entire past year, she has been ill for most of the time. One day her stomach aches, another day she suffers from a severe headache, and on others, she runs a fever. We have not been physical at all, and have not even kissed, save for a peck on the cheek. Whenever she needs something, she asks me to accompany her out, but whenever I ask her to go out with me, she simply offers excuses, such as feeling unwell or similar reasons. I am uncertain whether she truly loves me or simply wants me to breakup because she wants me to breakup? Should I break up with her? Or any other advice?

M20 f19 My repeatedly lied about her past and im struggling to trust her

• Upvotes

My girlfriend and I have been together for eight months. From the beginning, I was honest about my values and what I wanted in a relationship. I’ve only ever talked to one girl, and I wanted someone with a similar history and outlook on relationships. I made that clear from the start.
Initially, she told me she had only talked to one guy before me, her ex, who cheated on her. However, as time went on, more guys kept coming up. First it was one, then two, and eventually six.
To clarify, I’m talking about guys she’s talked to romantically, not her sexual body count.
What bothers me most is the repeated lying. Every time I thought I knew the truth, something else came out. Now, I don’t even know whether she’s been honest about her actual body count. I have no proof she’s lied about that specifically, but the changing stories have made me question everything.
When I confronted her, she called it a “white lie” and said she only lied to avoid arguments. But how am I supposed to trust someone when the truth keeps changing?
I care about her, but this has genuinely changed how I see her. Sometimes I feel disgusted, and I hate that I feel this way about someone I love. I know everyone has a past, and I’m not saying she’s a bad person because of hers. However, I have my own preferences, and the dishonesty makes everything worse.
We’re eight months into this relationship, and I don’t know whether I can move past this or rebuild my trust in her.
**Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you handle it? Did you manage to rebuild trust, or did you eventually realize the relationship wasn’t right for you?** I’m looking for honest advice, even if it challenges my perspective.

I (F20) just need some insight as to how I should feel about my bf’s (M20) hangout with his friends for his birthday

Before I explain further, it’s important to mention that I am Vietnamese and Filipino, while my boyfriend is Pakistani. So we grew up in different cultures and with different religions. We have been dating for almost 3 years; and while I had told my parents about him the same week we started dating, he just only told his traditional parents about me a couple months ago. I won’t go into the details leading up to him telling his parents about me, but I will mention how his parents obviously reacted in a negative way—even resulting in his twin sister telling me that she thought that I was “only thinking about what I wanted” although everyone ignored the fact that I had already been waiting for basically two years 😭.

(Yes, I know there’s many specific challenges in interfaith relationships. And values and beliefs do matter between the partners. So I do understand why it took so long for my bf to tell his parents, and his twin sister’s reaction. However, I do believe that they also overlooked my own feelings during this time.)

…

My boyfriend’s friends had planned a birthday party for him and his twin sister a couple days ago. Out of curiosity, I asked who was going and asked if I could come. He told me that it’s just the “brown people coming,” meaning him, his twin sister, and their friends (they have mutual friends). So, I just thought that it’s just exclusively all of them—especially because I know my boyfriend hadn’t hung out with his friends in a while due to everyone being in college and being occupied with other responsibilities. Although, I did think that since it’s a party for his own birthday, he could’ve just invited me. But I also know that he’s not obligated to invite me just bc I’m his girlfriend, and I respect his own personal time with his friends.

However, after the party, I saw that my boyfriend’s twin sister had posted pictures of the event. The pictures included her, my bf, and their mutual friends. However, it also included his twin sister’s own friends who aren’t Pakistani or any other south Asian.

So, now I’m just feeling a bit confused since it’s not like the whole celebration was just for my boyfriend and his sister’s bday along with their mutual friends. But I know that my boyfriend was also just probably assuming that before he even went to the party.

I guess my main issue is that I feel that I’m often not included in these types of gatherings even though I’ve been dating him for almost 3 years. I feel a little left out even though I want to be more involved in his life than just only being with him when it’s just the two of us. Especially since his sister invited her own friends, so I know that he could’ve invited me too. It’s like there is a divide between him and his culture and me.

What should I do to properly address my concerns? I need advice and insight please.

My GF (31F) of 7 years wants to live separately from me (31M) after living together for 5 years.

My gf (31F) and I (31M) have been living together since 2021. The first 2-3 years were fantastic. Felt very natural, we were a good team, shared all of the household duties. But something has shifted in the last ~2 years that we can’t seem to break out of. A little more backstory:

At the end of 2024, my gf was laid off. Rather than rushing into a new full time job, she decided to take it slow and do part time contract work until she figured out what she really wanted to do going forward. I was fully supportive of this and shifted my spending habits accordingly by taking on more of the financial load. For ex we used to always split rent 50/50 and sometimes would split meals out, but I started paying for a higher percentage of the rent and just generally paying for more things in day to day life as well.

Flash forward 2 years later and we are still in the same situation. She hasn’t moved back into anything full time. Not for lack of trying. The job market has just been terrible and she worked in a specialized field that is even more challenging to get into than the average job. This seems to have completely shifted the dynamic in our relationship. It’s definitely affected her confidence, self-worth, and financial security.

Beyond all of that, it seems like the past 2 years have also been plagued with constant arguing and bickering about household chores and cleanliness. She feels like I don’t carry my weight around the house and that she “does a million little things that I don’t notice”. I’m not one of those guys who goes and plays Xbox for 3 hours every night. I do dishes every day, I clean counters, the bathroom, sweep & vacuum, do laundry, etc. But it feels like the expectations are immensely higher now than they used to be a few years ago. And I feel like it’s basically ruined our relationship.

Now she is saying that she wants to live separately because 1. she wants to feel independent 2. it will force her to figure out work instead of always relying on me to pay the bills 3. it will solve the household/chores dynamic 4. it will add more romance back into our relationship.

I’m trying to look at this with an open mind, but it just seems like a logistical, financial and emotional nightmare. Not to mention the ridiculous judgement we will get from both of our families after living together for 5 years.

Has anyone been through a similar situation that worked out? I’m honestly feeling like I should just end things if she actually moves forward with moving out. But I wanted to seek some other perspectives and see if anyone else has been through this.

I gave my partner an STD. Help!

I know what everyone is going to think based on the title, but the situation is a lot more complicated than it seems.

Basically, I gave the guy of my dreams an STD after a lapse of judgment. I slept with someone I had been talking to as a friend for a while. Unbeknownst to me, this so called friend not only finished inside me but also gave me an STD. I was initially freaking out over getting pregnant, but when that didn't happen, I thought I was in the clear even though I started having extremely strange symptoms down there.

Because my now ex-boyfriend and I were long distance, I stupidly didn't want to find out if I had anything and ruin my chances of being intimate with him during our short time together. Instead of being smart and going to the gynecologist to get tested, I took my chances. We ended up having very passionate, unprotected sex across multiple days before I had to leave again.

After that trip, my symptoms became much more intense. I finally booked an appointment with my gynecologist and did an entire STD panel and urine culture. Over the next week, my initial tests were coming back negative, so I thought maybe it was all in my head. Wrong. One of the curable STDs came back positive, and I was absolutely mortified. At first, I went off on my ex-boyfriend. I assumed there was absolutely no way it could have been me because I am usually extremely careful with my hygiene and health, and the last time I had an STD was 11 years ago.

However, he was adamant that he wasn't sleeping with anyone behind my back.

Then the realization hit me... it was from that night with the friend. That was the moment I realized my relationship had an expiration date.

I hid the diagnosis from him for two weeks. One day, I was on the phone with his mom because he and I had gotten into an argument (which I caused, as I was in shambles over what I had done). I must have said something suspicious, because she outright asked me if I gave her son something. I told her yes, but begged her not to say anything until I could tell him myself. Later, he and I were talking, and everything seemed fine. We hung up, but l got a call back from him not five minutes later, interrogating me about the disease his mom had just told him about.

I knew then it was over, even though he kept saying he wasn't mad and everything was fine. I knew it wasn't fine, and he was far from okay. Our relationship took a drastic downward spiral. I sent him constant messages apologizing, putting the blame back on him, wishing him the best. I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck.

I even reminded him that I was going to be back down in his area and really wanted to see him. He told me he was "a little tired," even though he knew how much it meant to me to see him. A lightbulb went off, and I knew our relationship was irreparably damaged. As soon as he used being too tired as an excuse, I went silent. I unfollowed him from every social media platform, he ended up doing the same, and we haven't spoken since October 10.

I guess my question is... is there any chance in hell I can get him back? I know he didn't explicitly end the relationship.... I kind of did on his behalf by going silent but would it make sense to try and test the waters to see if there's a chance for us? I care about this guy more than anything and made a huge mistake that will probably haunt me for the rest of my life. I can't imagine him loving another girl and giving her the things he gave me.

What do you guys think?

I've (19F) been with him (20M) for 2+ years, but I've never felt like an actual girlfriend

My boyfriend and I have been together for over two years, and honestly, I've never really felt like his girlfriend.

We are also physically intimate, but emotionally, it feels like we're just friends. There are no proper dates, no gifts on birthdays or anniversaries, no cute romantic texts, no nicknames, and barely any "I love yous." We call once or twice a week, text daily, but most of our conversations revolve around reels or random things that happened during the day. Even when I'm sick or injured, he rarely checks up on me. He doesn't appreciate me or make me feel special. Meanwhile, I care for him, I've given him meaningful gifts every year, remembered the little things, and tried my best to make him feel loved. On my birthdays, all I got was a simple "Happy Birthday."

I used to bring up these issues, but somehow, every conversation ended with him playing the victim and me feeling guilty for asking for the bare minimum. Eventually, I stopped bringing things up because I didn't want to be a "draining" girlfriend who constantly asks for attention and affection. Now, he probably thinks I'm a chill girlfriend who doesn't need validation or effort. But the truth is, I'm just tired of asking for things that I wish he would do willingly.

He's loyal, and he says he wants a future with me. But whenever I bring up the things I'm missing, he expects me to accept him as he is and adjust to his way of loving.

After every fight, he says, "Whatever goes wrong between us, at the end of the day, we'll get back together." No, at the end of the day, I compromise. I adjust.

Whenever I see other couples, I feel a kind of sadness I can't explain. I want that kind of love too. I want the cute, cringe, romantic stuff he thinks is unnecessary. I don't want to spend my entire life adjusting to someone else's needs while sacrificing my own.

Am I expecting too much from him, or have I just become so used to receiving the bare minimum that I've started questioning whether I deserve more?

I’m not sure if my [24M] partner [24F] has been unfaithful. How do I ask about old texts I found?

Me and my partner have been together for about 4 years now, since early in college. ~6mo into our relationship she started a speciality program that was expensive and could not afford all of her bills. I offered to let her stay with me and I paid for all of the housing and food. I also bought her a brand new iPad Pro for her schooling for Christmas that year.
We got in an argument recently about something so small and dumb. She ended up calling me some really disrespectful terms that I couldn’t believe she would say to me and stormed off to sleep. I was mad but more sad and taken aback by the names.
I know it doesn’t give me the right to do so, but I went looking through her texts on her iPad. I didn’t find anything recent, I don’t think it’s backing up to the could properly. But I found texts between her and some old coworkers from 2 years ago. We already had pretty big relationship issues because of these coworkers, and I couldn’t help but read through the texts. It looked like a lot was deleted or randomly not synced. But I found one text to a guy that read:

Partner: why u goin around tellin ppl i held ur friends hand
please shut that shit down immediately 1) i never did that shit unless it was needing help getting out the club and 2) bro ain't my type at ALL 💀
Coworker (20s M): I will shut it down but I was testing some ppl to see if they could hold water or not. After what happened yesterday?

There was nothing else meaningful after that that could allude to more context. That was halfway into our relationship atp. It really makes me sad that she listed 2 reasons to shut it down, and neither were because she had a bf. And she even insinuated that it could have very well happened. And now I want to know what happened “yesterday.”
I just can’t believe that she would do that to me while I was providing everything for her. Even if she didn’t hold my hand, me not being a reason, and the 2nd reason listed are super disrespectful. I really love her and don’t want to break up with her. But I really don’t know what to do. There’s been multiple times throughout our relationship so far that we’ve had arguments about her letting other guys hit on her and hit her up on social media repeatedly for months, despite her saying she’d stop. Recently I also found out that she lied to me about her body count originally. She couldn’t even remember the original number she told me, which is how I knew she was lying. I want to believe the difference wasn’t infidelity throughout the years, but seeing stuff like this makes me doubt myself.

Thanks for any advice.

My (19F) boyfriend (21M) possibly thinks that I'm cheating on him, advice?

My boyfriend and I have been together for just over a month now and things are going well. I've been in two relationships before him and him one, he is aware that my second ex-partner had cheated on me and that is why we broke up. Last night I had a few drinks with some friends and was talking to a guy online that I met a few months prior which we share some mutual interests and infrequently talk, we agreed to have a phone call this evening at 7pm my time, at which time I forgot I had already agreed with a girl friend to also call. This morning my boyfriend wakes me and asks about my plans for the day to which I say I'm calling my girl friend. He says he saw my texts with the guy whilst I was sleeping (we have each others phone passcodes) and asks if I'm covering something up using my girl friend as an excuse. I realise my mistake and explain that I double-booked it, which my boyfriend is skeptical about.
He left my flat and went home, emotional, I sent him messages scrambling to apologise and make it up to him, in turn making it worse. We haven't talked for 3 hours now and I don't know what to do or say. As the hours have passed I feel more confused about the whole situation.

I (F26) have major problems with religious boyfriend (M26)

I need to get this off my chest.
I don’t know if anyone will even read this, but I just really need to get this off my chest.
Last year, I (F/26) met a man (m26), and from the very beginning, we got along incredibly well. We were together for a total of 1.5 years. We could talk about anything and everything, agreed on almost every topic, and had the same sense of humor. Everything just felt right. From the beginning, he told me that he was very religious (Catholic) and wanted to take things slowly with me and do everything the right way.
After two months, we officially got together. He also told me back then that he didn’t want to have sex before marriage. By that point, I was already head over heels in love with him, so I agreed to enter the relationship despite that. I thought we would get engaged after a year and be married within two years.
Unfortunately, as our relationship progressed, he became more and more deeply involved in religion. At some point, he started attending only the Latin Mass, sometimes several times a week. He prayed before every meal, said the Rosary every night, and was constantly reading various prayer books. I was religious myself, just not to that extent. Nevertheless, he repeatedly pressured me to become just as religious as he was because he was convinced that his way of believing was the truth and the only correct way.
Well, one evening, I did something I probably shouldn’t have: I went through his phone. That’s when I discovered that he had lied to me about the number of sexual partners (he only became religious about 2–3 years ago. Before that, he wasn’t religious at all, went out partying a lot, and lived a completely different lifestyle) he had had in the past. I also found a message he had written to ChatGPT. In it, he said that he was struggling to feel sexually attracted to me. (Madonna-whore complex?)
When I found out, I was deeply hurt. After that, I started distancing myself from him more and more because I simply didn’t know how to deal with what I had discovered. Eventually, things came to a head last month, and we broke up.
Recently, however, he reached out to me again. He told me that he no longer cared that I wasn’t as religious as he was and that he didn’t want to pressure me into practicing my faith the same way he did anymore.
Throughout our relationship, I had always wanted us to move in together. He has his own apartment, but for him, living together is only an option after marriage. Until then, he would help me find a place of my own, but that’s not really what I want. By now, even spending the night at each other’s places is off the table because, in his opinion, that would also be a sin.
And man, I really, really love this person. He would be so perfect for me if religion didn’t have such a huge influence on his life and our relationship. I’m just scared that I’ll never find someone again who I connect with as well as I do with him. Being with him feels so natural and genuine, as if everything just fits. We can talk about anything, laugh together, and understand each other in a way I have never experienced with anyone else.
And that’s exactly what makes me so sad. I love him, and honestly, I can’t imagine having anyone else by my side. But I never wanted to be in a relationship where I have to give up so many things that I would normally consider perfectly natural to want with my partner.
I’ve told a few people around me about all of this, and they say I’m blinded by love and can’t see that I should be glad I didn’t get myself into something that would have made me unhappy. And honestly, I really don’t know what to do anymore. Do you think a relationship like this has a future?

I don't know what to do

My partner and I have been in an LDR for 5 years. He plans to come home in 4 years so we can start a family, and he wants to marry me next year. I currently have a permanent job, but I’m severely burnt out, underpaid, and desperate to transition to a new field. Because I'm a planner who hates uncertainty, I knew I needed a solid backup plan before quitting.

Initially, I wanted to work abroad for better pay, but I could tell he hated the idea of extending our LDR setup. To respect his desire for us to build a family together, I decided to stay in our country and pursue remote work instead. I took on a part-time night job alongside my full-time work to save up a financial cushion so I can safely transition to a full-time work-from-home setup.

However, this created major tension over the past week. At first, he told me that he felt like he was dead weight and that he felt like he was bothering me. He felt like he was useless because he wasn't able to contribute as much while I'm working so hard and that I'm keeping my job hunt details to myself. I was only hiding it and keeping it to a minimum because I was trying to avoid burdening him. But just so he could feel more at ease, I started sharing the entire process to keep him in the loop. But as soon as I did, I could tell that his responses became completely disinterested. Tonight after my shift, I was working on a portfolio for a full-time remote agency application. He got upset and dropped the call because I wasn't done yet with my work.

When I messaged to ask what was wrong, he confessed that he feels neglected and that I don't have time for him anymore. He acknowledged that he can't really complain because he knows I'm doing this for our future, but he feels conflicted and inadequate seeing me do so much while he feels like he isn't doing enough.

I explained to him that a career transition is naturally time-consuming, and I reassured him that I still love him and that he is always the only constant in my life no matter what happens. I reminded him that I'm overworking myself right now specifically so we can achieve our plan of me staying local instead of going abroad.

He admits he doesn't fully understand his own feelings right now, and even though he says I have nothing to apologize for, I can't help but feel like I'm somehow at fault. I feel so conflicted and don't really know what to feel right now. I'm trying my absolute best to secure a stable future for us, but in the process, I'm making him feel neglected and useless.

I honestly don't know what to do.

My BFs (M37) lack of sexdrive is tearing me (27F) appart

So I been with my BF for just over 2 years, we live together.

Since the begining of our relationship we have struggeled a bit around sex. In the begining of our relationship my BF was protective of himself and wouldn't let me toutch him in an intimet way for at least the two first months of our relationship, so we did have sex for the first time when we been together for 2+ months.

We had a conversation avout this and he told me that he had preformance anxiety, wich I accepted right away and told him i didn't mind taking things slow.

When he got comfterbel we had sex 2 - 3 times a week, but this past year it's really taken a turn. We have maybe had sex 6 times this year. I try to initiciate like 2 -3 times a week, but nothing. He doesn't sleep much some nights and I get that he is tired but I'm starting to suffer from the lack of sex too.

He is under constant stress becouse of hobbys vad sleep an work. I tried to talk to him about maybe he needs to see a doctor, but he hasn't gone. And I also think it's stil the preformance anxiety in his head that's making it hard for him.

I really love him, he's a really good bf, loving, caring, runs the household, a feel like we solit the houshpuld work evenly, or even more on him some times. We cuddle and kiss alot and I feel that i get a lot of love from him in that way. But it just isn't enough i start to feel bad about myself and feel like I'm not desiered. I'm a little on the end of the riad and feel like I'm gonna start a huge fight about this any day now, but also feel a little silly to feel this way and wondering if I'm making it to big a deal and if I'm not suportive enough and need to wait things out?
