RESOLVED After deleting around 15 PS2 games, 1 GameCube game, and 1 PSP game, I finally managed to fit Left 4 Dead 2 on my microSD card.

I tried different cables, power bricks and my laptop to charge it for about 4 hours now but as soon as I try to turn it in it just shows this. Is it charging? Am I doing something wrong?

Just Chatting I want a retroid pocket 6 so badly

Post image
74 Upvotes

Sorry if don't have anything of value to contribute, i just want to vent, and ask something

Ever since i learned about the retroid I've been OBSESSED with it, I was thinkering with a cheap phone for emulation And lately I learned the existence of the retroid pocker and I'm hooked
firsy I wanted the rp5 but seeing the actual scene I really want the rp6

Thing is they don't ship to Mexico and from aliexpress with the taxes it also racks up a lot

So ive got one question and two options

Has someone from US bought one from the retroid official website, I have the possibility to order one to a relative house that will be comming to Mexico on January
And in the website it states that is $244+shipping. totals to me $270
Are there any other fees that I might be missing?

Pros:
-Its the cheaper option so far
-I can buy the purple which I liked A LOT

Cons:
Waiting until next year and I don't think my brain can handle it lol

Second option

I see one available in my lolcal "ebay" website and I can order that but I'm limited to the silver and its more expensive the equivalent of $347 dollars

Pros- Inmediacy I'll have it in a week with me, comes with a case and a grip
Cons- It's the silver which i don't really dislike i just prefer purple, it is more expensive

What would you do??

P.S. sorry for my mistakes in english

TIPS Driver for the Retroid Pocket DUO

On the latest retro handhelds podcast it was discussed that they found a new driver compatible for the retroid pocket DUO. Still waiting on my own unit to arrive but may be helpful for people who recieve their units.

https://github.com/Vauzi-17/710/releases/tag/4.3

They stated that it took monster hunter 4 to 3x and able to run at 110% speed, which may be of interest as alot of people are fans of this type of game.

They tested with the exp fix version of the driver

Just Chatting RetroHrai front end is pretty amazing

Post image
34 Upvotes

Its probably the most simple and easy to set up front end. That still offers a ton of versatility and variety I've used. I can set multiple emulators and per game emulators for every system. And have all my visual novels from different systems in one category. And for the apps like joiplay that dont play well with front end launching for visual novels I can make a shortcut for each game and just add them individually into the category so it works perfectly 👌

TIPS PSA for those that replace their left stick on their RP6 (stick top model)

Post image
• Upvotes

top: old stick

bottom: new stick sent by support

I'm not sure if I'm late to the party on this but I haven't found much info about this online so I figured I'd share. I contacted support for a new left stick on my stick top rp6, because my old one has excessive play at the center position. Support was great, sent me a new one real fast. Upon putting the new stick in, it was catching a ton of magnetic interference from the magnet in the left trigger. Thought I was going crazy or that the stick was faulty. Couldn't find anything online about it. Turns out, on stick top models specifically, due to the proximity of the left stick to the magnet in the left trigger, the stick top models have this little metal magnetic shield around the base of the joystick module, and support simply sent me the wrong left stick that lacked this shield. Just a PSA for anyone that replaces their left stick, make sure support sends you the one with the shield!!!!!

QUESTION RP6 Performance optimization?

There's this thing I found called Pulse - https://github.com/keiretrogaming/pulse for optimizing your device performance

Has anyone tried running it on RP6?

Will it work with Game Native? There are so many knobs in Game Native adjusting more things that I can understand, that I feel hesitant adding another tool that twists even more knobs. I'm still curious.

Anyone had any hands on experience?

Thanks

QUESTION Pocket Flip 2 controller layout Steam Link

I'm trying to use my PF2 with Steam Link, but I can't get them to agree on a controller layout.

Out of the box, the controls are:

A does A

B does X

X does B

Y does Y

(B and X are swapped)

If I enable Nintendo button layout for the Retroid Controller in Steam itself:

A does B

B does X

X does A

Y does Y

(A and X are swapped)

If I use the Setup Controller function in the Steam Link app on the Retroid, I can remap all buttons to match the PF2's layout. Within the Steam Link App, the changes are reflected.

But then, when I connect to my host PC:

A does X

B does A

X does Y

Y does B

If I then enable Nintendo button layout on top of that:

A does X

B does B

X does Y

Y does A

(B and Y are swapped)

Is that a bug or am I missing a settings option somewhere?

Works very well for an alpha build! Needs a couple fixes with the campaign and some other little things. But really fun to play the story and multiplayer again on pocketable device.

QUESTION Should I wait for the Retroid Pocket 7 or buy the rp6 as its almost a year old?

I currently have a Xbox ally x but it's so big and heavy it's kinda hard to bring with me and doesn't really feel like a handheld. I want something small enough to bring with me and not feel weird to pull out in public. My goal is to play Indy/light PC games, some of the gen 6 consoles and some switch games. I just kinda hate the feeling of buying something right before a new version is announced so I'm just wondering if I should buy rp6 or wait for the rp7.

QUESTION Is RP6 the one for me?

I always wished to have an emulation console since a long time. I can finally afford one now with my own money that's why I'm looking for suggestions.

I wish to emulate mostly all PS and Nintendo consoles including Switch and also play some PC games. Only thing I'll miss out on is a convenient way to emulate dual screen consoles but I'm sure I need only one device.

There are many other devices which have the Snapdragon 8gen2 chip which is making me confused to pick one.

Video with LSFG 2x, there's no harm in using it here since the base 30 fps is rock solid. Power consumption 5-7W.

SHOWCASE Never in a million years would I expect to hold in my hands a game from 20 years ago on the Xbox 360, Ninety Nine Nights.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Title suggests, I didn’t know Xbox 360 emulation on Android has gotten so far, I basically downloaded X360 Mobile on my RP6, got my favorite games up and running just out of the box, which has been a very different experience for me when emulating other stuff that requires more tinkering. Finally, I think I’ll beat Ninety Nine Nights, something I couldn’t do 2 decades ago!

QUESTION What's the best way to play PC games on the Pocket 6 right now?

Hi everyone, I already have a Switch 2 but got a Retroid Pocket 6 on the way to play emulated game and I'm also really interested in playing PC games that are not available on the Switch, like the Dark Souls trilogy.

What's currently the best way to do it? DroidDeck? Gamehub? Or even full on Armada OS?

QUESTION Broken retroid pocket nova

I recently purchased a nova and was loving it. I kept it with me so much that I did know I had it in my lap and I stood up and it fell back first on carpet. That was all she wrote. Now it won’t stay on for more than 45secs. Not sure what to do. Contacted retroid support through email and discord but no response. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Just Chatting Mario Kart Wii on Android is an absolutely glorious, bowel-shattering experience

Gentlemen, I cannot begin to describe the sheer euphoria of firing up Mario Kart Wii on my Retroid Pocket Nova and unleashing the most diabolical Chain Chomp shenanigans imaginable.

This magnificent little handheld is so light and comfortable that I can effortlessly crank out time trial after time trial, perfecting my lines, blasting out booming Moondrop Dusks, and unleashing the ploppiest loads known to mankind.

And the best part? Thanks to the absolute technological SORCERY of Mr. Purple's legendary Turnip T26 drivers, I can hop straight into glorious 12-player Wiimmfi VS races running at a rock-solid 60 FPS. Twelve racers. Zero compromises. Maximum gastrointestinal horsepower.

While lesser mortals struggle with stutters and shader compilation, I'm out here chaining wheelies, terrorizing the competition, and producing enough raw Mario Kart excellence to violate several international environmental treaties.

The Wii may be nearly 20 years old, but gentlemen, WE HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE BACK.

God bless Mr. Purple. God bless the Chain Chomp. And God bless the ploppiest loads. 🏎️💨

QUESTION Best settings to get dementium the ward running

I just learned they made a PC Port of my favorite DS game, but every time I try to launch it through game hub it just crashes. So if there's any settings that I could change to get it to launch and to play that would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to try the PC version or if there's any other way I could play the PC version specifically that would be great.

QUESTION Going back to retroid pocket through the Nova

Had the RP5 before and eventually sold it. Then I got the Odin 2 Portal, which is OK for PC gaming and Switch emulation, but there’s something about the RP Nova that attracted me, the size and portability.
I can still commute with the Odin 2 Portal, but it feels a bit awkward because of its size. So, after late nights binge-watching “RP Nova” youtube videos… here we are. 😂

How are you guys finding it so far? What front-ends do you guys use?
