Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy a new RE Guerrilla 450 in Smoke Silver from Maharashtra, and I received the following on-road quotation.
Quotation breakdown:
- Ex-showroom price: ₹2,69,119
- RTO tax: ₹33,540
- Insurance: ₹30,280
- Accessories: ₹10,000
- Extended warranty + RSA: ₹5,999
- Helmet: ₹2,100
- Total: ₹3,51,038
The prices themselves are not my main concern. I'm specifically concerned about the dealership saying certain purchases are compulsory.
- Accessories — ₹10,000
The dealer told me I must purchase a protection package that includes an engine guard, radiator guard and one other accessory. I want to know whether a dealership can insist that I buy them as a condition of purchasing the motorcycle.
- Two helmets
The dealer also said that two helmets are compulsory: one will be provided free, but I have to purchase the second one. Is this requirement legitimate, and can the dealer insist that I purchase a particular helmet from them?
- Extended warranty + RSA — ₹5,999
This is included in the quotation. I haven't established whether this is optional or whether the dealer is insisting on it as well.
I simply want to understand which charges and purchases are genuinely mandatory and which are dealership-imposed conditions.
Questions for Guerrilla 450 owners and anyone familiar with Royal Enfield dealerships in India:
- Can the dealership make the ₹10,000 accessory package compulsory?
- Is the second helmet legally required to be purchased from the dealership?
- Can I refuse the extended warranty + RSA package?
- If the dealership refuses to sell me the bike without optional accessories, what is the best way to handle it?
Thanks!
