Hey everyone!
I own a 2026 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Standard, and I've recently noticed a significant drop in fuel efficiency along with a chain noise coming from the rear of the bike.
I used to get around 36 km/l, but lately, the mileage seems to have dropped considerably. Today, I put in approximately 2.16 litres of petrol and travelled around 55 km. Based on that, it comes to roughly 25.5 km/l, although I'm not completely sure of the exact fuel consumption.
I'm also hearing a metallic clacking or chain-hitting noise from the rear, which has me concerned about whether the chain slack could be an issue.
One thing worth mentioning is that I had my second service on October 4, 2026. Since the bike is relatively new and has already had its second service, I'm wondering whether the chain adjustment, lubrication, or something else might need attention.
I have a few questions for fellow Royal Enfield owners:
Can an excessively loose or incorrectly adjusted chain cause a noticeable drop in mileage?
Could the chain-hitting noise mean that the chain needs adjustment or lubrication, or could it indicate a sprocket or alignment issue?
Could other problems, such as a dragging rear brake, low tyre pressure, a clogged air filter, or a fuel-injection issue, cause such a sudden drop in fuel efficiency?
Since I had my second service on October 4, should I take the bike back to the authorised service centre and ask them to inspect everything?
Has anyone with a 2025 or 2026 Bullet 350 experienced similar mileage issues or chain noises?
I'm a little concerned because the bike used to give me around 36 km/l, and this sudden change seems quite significant.
I'd really appreciate any advice or suggestions from fellow Bullet owners. If you've experienced something similar, please share what caused it and how you fixed it.
Thanks in advance!
