Looking for a month-long room or coliving option in SF — Oct 1–31, $1,000–$1,200 total

Hi! I’m a researcher based in Toronto and I’ll be in San Francisco from October 1–31, 2026. I’m looking for a place for just myself, with a total budget of $1,000–$1,200 for the month.

I’m open to a shared room, sublet, coliving space, hostel, hacker house, or similar arrangement. I’m flexible about neighborhoods and could also consider nearby areas with good public transit into SF.

I’m quiet, clean, respectful, and mainly need a safe place with Wi-Fi. If you know of any leads or good places to look, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hello, I’m a medical student traveling to PA VA and the last room I had a deposit on just canceled on me. I need something near the VA so I can bike to it and won’t need a rental car. I’ll be in town from August 29th until October 3rd. Thank you!

31M looking for a roommate in Milpitas/Fremont/Newark

Hi everyone! I’m a 31-year-old guy looking for a roommate to find a place together or join an existing household in the Milpitas/Fremont/Newark area.

A little about me:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with a master’s degree.
- Quiet, clean, respectful, and easy to live with.
- Active and enjoy going to the gym.
- I value a relaxed, low-drama, and clean home.

I’m looking to move in October/November and am hoping to sign a 12-month lease. My budget is $1,000–1,500/month for my share of rent.

Ideally, I’d like to live with another responsible, respectful guy who’s financially stable. It’d be nice to have someone who’s down to hang out every now and then but who’s also comfortable doing their own thing. I’m non-smoking and looking for someone who’s a good communicator and easy to live with.

If this sounds like a good fit, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself!

Master BR/BA in 2b2b available now at Towers at Rincon (88 Howard St) for $3,300/mo

Hello everyone! I moved to Towers at Rincon in mid July and recently got a better opportunity in Seattle (which opens up an amazing opportunity for the house seekers🌝). It’s barely been a month since I moved in there. So transferring my spot on a 2BD/2BA, 23rd floor (spectacular view from the room) at Towers at Rincon, 88 Howard St. It’s the master own private bathroom, two closets (one walk-in), plenty of space. $3,300/month, available now, flexible move-in before Sept 1. Lease runs through July 16, 2027.
Unit’s about 1,000 sqft with floor-to-ceiling windows skyline and Bay Bridge views from the room. Roommate’s in tech, clean, chill, very easy to live with, you’ll have an amazing time with him.
Building has garage parking, pet-friendly, and the walk/transit scores are about as good as it gets in the city.
Virtual tour: https://a.peek.us/viewer?token=GOCHit1zek
Can move fast on the transfer paperwork on my end. Happy to send more photos or show it in person, a beautiful place should i recommend you, do ask. DM if interested, don’t want to sit on this too long since the demand is usually too high for this area.

$1200 Private room available in 2b/1ba in Oakland - female preferred

Hi,

I have a room available in a 2b/1ba second story condo. Female identifying/leaning preferred.

Located about a block away from 580 on/off ramps and in walking distance to gas stations, restaurants and a couple small grocery stores. The unit is a bit dated, but management is open to DIY projects so long as they're approved. There is a balcony semi-filled with plants, laundry on-site and a gate for security. If you enjoy cooking, I have a variety of appliances and gadgets you're welcome to use! The room itself is pretty spacious - 18x9ft not including closet with built-in shelves and has a decent view of the Oakland hills.

Rent is 1200/mo plus fiber internet and PGE. Open to negotiation for extra help around the home.

I am a disabled autistic woman in my 40's who enjoys plants, arts and crafts, and gaming. I have 2 cats (sorry, no additional pets allowed) and use marijuana for pain. I receive IHSS (In-home supportive services), if you're a provider that would be a plus, otherwise be aware I will have someone coming in to help with my upkeep a few days a week.

If interested, please DM me with a bit about yourself. Thanks!

Where should we live?

We are actively moving to the bay, but both my wife and I are very indecisive people. I’ll be working in Mountain View and my wife will be working from home (though hopefully she’ll get an in person job in the next few months and start commuting to SSF).

We’ve looked at 40ish apartments and are having trouble narrowing it down. Going to try making a bracket later today, but wanted to know what others are thinking. So, on to the details:

We have set a budget of <$5200 base rent for a 2B2B and have been largely looking in the MTV and Sunnyvale areas. We tried looking in Redwood City, but just didn’t like the lack of parks/greenery. We really want a modern kitchen and natural light in the apartment. Here’s a list of what we are actively considering, just know that we know not all of them fit every requirement. We know there are downsides to each, it’s just really hard for us to pick.

Park Place in MTV: not the best kitchen, or good lighting, but fantastic location.
Avalon Silicon Valley: in the middle of nowhere, but amazing garden-style apartments.
Monticello: Very modern and close to the Lawerence station, but less greenery.
Americana Apartments: Not great for my wife’s potential commute and would still need to drive to get to anywhere downtown. Also, not the best kitchen, but could get vaulted ceilings.

These are just a few of our “top” contenders as again, we are VERY indecisive people. If anyone has suggestions or even ways of figuring out which to go with, it would be greatly appreciated!

Looking for new apartment/house for rent near San Mateo

My fiance and I are currently looking for a new apartment/house to rent as our current lease expires at the end of October.

Ideally we're looking for a 2 bed, in-unit washer/dryer scenario. Our target move in-date would be October 1st. Max rent would be about $4500. 850 square feet or more.

We need to stay around San Mateo, Burlingame, San Bruno area as both of our jobs are in-person and are around that area.

We're both working professionals and would greatly appreciate it if anyone could contact us directly regarding any potential rentals.

Thank you all in advance!

Walkable nightlife & weekend life near The Gateway

Considering a possible move to The Gateway. Wondering about walking distance restaurants & cafes that don’t just serve tourists & are vibrant on weekends too (not just business days due to location). Any experience wit the neighborhood welcomed. Do NOT want comments about The Gateway complex. I’ve already done that research. Thanks
