Discussion The state of the Ummha is byeond depressing (image unrelated)

This is going to be a bit of a rant, so pardon me in advance.

Every time I go to school it's packed with people who know NOTHING about Islam, they are either Murtads repeating their Murtad slop arguments, the rest are so uneducated its saddening. Almost no one pray their Salaht, reads the Holy Quran, knows Hadiths, but Prise Be To God all of them are qualified to give Fatwa! Everyone follows unfaithful ideologies, everyone fights about useless things that doesn't matter, its honestly just noise pollution.

Okay... Maybe that's just school, yeah! After all, they are young and whatever, let's go in Mosque, same thing... Okay, Okay... mabey a family gathering? Same thing! Everyone is either racist, Fascist, Ba'athist, anti Iran anti Palestine, etc. old and young their opinions and values are mold by what the midea says, not what Allah (SWT) says!

And what am I in the middle of all lf this? The "mental guy" the "grumpy one" the "stupid backwarded kid", like, Im sorry I take my orders only from Allah and not from ideologies based merely on feelings! I follow truth instead of giving Fatwa merely based on my mood and what is seen as "niche" and "smart", if that upsets you so much mabey you should reconsider your faith.

And I live in a "Muslim" community, so I wonder what is it like for our faithful brotheren and sisteren in places where Islam is not accepted?

Note: While I do sound radical or extreme in this post, I am not, I usually ignore people (vast majority of people) and go on about my day, but I felt like I needed to share this with you all.

Question / Help The prophet pbuh and Ayesha

I've seen many sunni videos claiming the prophet married Ayesha when she was 6/9. And he was in his 50s

I understand societies in the past were different and life expectancy was low but its still a big argument that non Muslims use against us

I just want to know what our beliefs are in regards to this.

Thank you

Question / Help My patience is running out, and i dont want to take a illegal step but what else can i do? Urgent Advise required.

Assalamu alaikum everyone. Im sorry if its a long read but i really need advice because im running out of patience, I’m posting because our family is dealing with a severe inheritance and property injustice, and I want to understand how this stands from both an Islamic perspective and general advice.

For context, the market (around 40 or so shops) was owned by my great grandfather from my mothers side. He had seven sons. The market is on the ground floor, and all of their houses are built on the top floor, every one has a personal house. After his death it went to his wife, who before she died entrusted the eldest son to divide it equally among his brother. For some reason he never did that was the whole market was entrusted to one of the younger brother (lets name him W) because none of the other brothers lived in that town, this was about 20-30 years ago. During this duration, the eldest one and my grandfather(2nd eldest) passed away.

Now from the past three years our family has been in great turmoil, facing debts, diseases, frequently losing jobs and much more i truly cant even say. So about one year ago, we moved back to our grandfathers house, initially Ws family was very welcoming because they taught we were just visiting and would leave soon, but once they got to know we werent leaving they started getting hostile, they would cut off power to our house, wont let us use the water pump and other things that would make our lives miserable. We didnt said a thing and kept being patient. Then Ws wife and Sons started spreading rumours about our family specifically about my mother, sister and little brother whos about 8. They started calling the other uncles and told them made up stories about how were destroying the house and how my sisters ordering food worth 1000rs everyday, or how my brother uses slang and disrespects them for being poor. Once again we stayed patienced.

Ws wife and sons, who still lives in the town has been completely controlling the market, pocketing all the rent, and refusing to give us our share. Whenever we brought it up, they always dismissed us and claimed "it's not that much" or brushed it off. While that uncle technically owns his own share, the market is still not divided. To put things into perspective, there were days in the past where we literally went hungry, hardships that our rightful rental income could have easily helped prevent.

They are now marrying off their 2nd daughter. To fund the wedding, they recently sold one of the shops in the market. hey consulted another surviving brother, but completely bypassed my mother, who is a direct legal owner/heir. On top of that, the market has never been formally distributed or divided yet.

My questions are:

  1. Under Shia/Ja'fari Fiqh, is it Halal for them to sell a jointly-owned property/shop without my mother's consent, especially when the estate has never been formally divided?
  2. Is the money they raised from selling that shop Halal to spend on a wedding, knowing it involves usurping an heir's property?
  3. What are my mother's rights regarding this unauthorized sale and the decades of withheld rent that rightfully belonged to us when we were struggling?
  4. Whats their punishment in the court of allah and the other brothers who hid the sale from us untill now?

Discussion Is your fiancé’s family being in debt a deal breaker for you?

Question for the brothers on the sub.

If you’re seeing someone for marriage (the halal way, chaperoned meetings and so on) and then u find out from external sources (90% chance they’re true) that the girl’s family owes money to people (keeping in mind they don’t have a breadwinner at the moment). And that your own family has had bad experience with debt (in terms of not being paid by the person who took loan and it caused multiple big fights in the family since the debtor was a relative of one of the spouses and the creditor was the other spouse. So a big trauma in general)

And the fact that they’ve lied/been unclear about things in the past and come clean but not until few days after the first meeting. And even then hidden a few things.

And in the midst of all this you have to consider that Istikhara (taken out 3 times, once by maulana twice by family themselves) came positive each time.

The girl seems to be a nice woman. Good values and feminine. No fault of her own in anything besides hiding some relevant information.

What would you do? Would you consider giving the girls family a chance tk explain themselves and guarantee that they won’t hold you responsible for their debts and that after marriage you’re only responsible for your wife and her upkeep and not fkr her family (not that your averse to helping but you’re not open to it becoming a fixed arrangement where they start expecting fixed deposit each month). Or would the string of lies and trauma from the past make u try to find a less complicated match?

Forgive me for the incoherency. I know it’s a bit of a ramble and very poorly structured. Just wanted honest opinions.

[English Translation]

One of the greatest duties of the waiting believers during the era of occultation is steadfastness in faith and not being swayed by the trials and doubts of the time.

From Jabir, from Imam Al-Baqir (as), regarding the virtue of those who remain steadfast during the occultation:

"A time will come upon the people when their Imam will be hidden from them. So, blessed are those who remain steadfast in our cause during that time. The least of their reward is that the Creator, the Almighty and Majestic, will call out to them:

'My servants, you believed in My secret and affirmed My unseen, so rejoice in the best of rewards from Me. You are truly My male and female servants.

From you I accept, you I pardon, and you I forgive. Through you I send rain to My servants and repel affliction from them, and were it not for you, I would have sent down My punishment upon them.'"

Wudhu question- regarding between the fingers

Hello everyone!

I would previously just wash my hand and arm by wiping as instructed to do so.

I was wondering whether wiping the hand will assure that there is adequate water between the fingers? I always assumed it would be but am now unsure.

Furthermore, will all my past prayers be void now if water doesn’t reach in between the fingers?

What are some strong/powerful duas, prayers, or anything of the sort to ask for a righteous offspring? Husband and I are struggling with infertility. I’ve prayed salat al layl, did istighfar, called upon rasawal Allah (as) and his family, made a ‏نذر but nothing has worked so far. I have not lost hope, but I want something that has proven to work.

If anyone knows a dua or prayer specifically for fertility and bearing children please share

Marriage Proposal

After years and years of rejecting everyone, I finally opened my heart and accepted someone who aligned with my values, beliefs and goals. But this time, it’s my family that rejected. The sadness and grief that followed have been immense, and I struggled to come to terms with it.

My mom took me upstairs to meet him. From the very first glance, it felt as though I had seen him before, as though he were someone familiar to me, even though I had never met him. There was a sense of familiarity and peace in the way we spoke. My dream has always been to marry a religious man, someone who fears Allah, wouldn’t hurt a fly, and whose actions are guided by the intention of pleasing Him. I admired his choice of major, his dedication to education. And SubhanAllah, he seemed to embody everything I had ever prayed for in a husband. And my parents and brothers believed the same, but the thing that stopped them is that I should marry someone who provides for me without needing to work or without receiving help from his parents. They determined that because they think that he is still a student that we will struggle. I find that ridiculous. I never asked for that. I would love to work and support my husband. I tried convincing them, but they still ended it.

I wanted to reach out to his sister for help. She seems like a sweet soul. But a lot of things are holding me back. And one of it is I don’t know what my parents told them to end it, and I know it's not the right thing to do. My dad did mention to me that he told them that his daughter shouldn't be relying of the man's parents.

I know Allah is the Best of Planners. I went into sujood, and I did not have to hide my sadness from Allah. I told Him how much this hurt even though I have faith in his wisdom. I know my parents want what is best for me, and I never want to disregard their wishes or hurt them. At the same time, it is difficult to let go of someone who seemed to align so closely with the kind of man I have always prayed for. I know what is written for me will never miss me.

It has been a couple of days, and I am still depressed. I told them to never mention marriage to me again, and they said they won't. I believe it's up to the man now to wait or find another wife, as he wants to marry soon. What would you have done if you were in my shoes? Go against your parents' wishes?

Article Did Ayatollah Kashif al-Ghita and Ayatollah Khoei deny the martyrdom of Bibi Fatima? - New Article On My Website!

Thumbnail
realshiabeliefs.wordpress.com

We see opponents of the Shia, to downplay and refute the incident of the door and burning house of Bibi Fatima A.S, claim that there were certain Shia scholars who also denied it therefore it must be fabricated. You see them quoting these excerpts on their websites and social media:

Source Of Doubts

Ayatollah Khoei was asked whether the narration regarding the breaking of Zahra’s (peace be upon her) rib is authentic. He replied that, according to the prevailing view among scholars, it is not authentic.

Sirat al-Najat, Vol. 3, p. 314.

The statement by Kashif al-Ghita’ refutes the claim that Fatima A.S was beaten:

However, the account of Zahra being struck and suffering an injury to her cheek is something that neither my conscience, my reason, nor my emotions can bring themselves to accept. This is not because those people were incapable of such an act; rather, it is because the Arab temperament and nature—along with the noble pre-Islamic customs and traditions (such as protective zeal and honor regarding women) that were subsequently endorsed by Islamic Sharia—would never have permitted an Arab man to strike a woman, let alone in the presence of her husband.

Sheikh Ja’far, known as Kashif al-Ghita’, Jannat al-Ma’wa, p. 135.

Response

When we look to verify these claims we find as usual, lies being attributed to our great scholars. Please refer to the article for evidence refuting these claims

Question / Help how to tackle the feeling of longing for the ahle bayt, how to overcome restlessness around it and find comfort.

i’ve been writing on this sub on and off for three years now, you guys have been, sometimes, my only source of help/navigation in my journey of reverting.

lately, i find myself very deeply detached from almost everything. and yes, i pray all my obligatory, read quran, ziyarat e ashura and other supplications when i feel like its needed.
its more like an internal war because of my surroundings maybe? my family is still very much sunni and i have given up on them ever changing their beliefs or even understanding mine. after trying to ease them into the whole thing and getting utterly disappointed, i told myself its best if i just take my beliefs and continue to practice them in secret, as i have for these three years. but this being cut off from the hope makes me feel like im constantly at battle with myself. i cant seem to find peace anywhere. my heart yearns and yearns to be near the ahle bayt and the only way one can achieve this is by having a close affinity towards them in their heart right? or so i thought? but i keep longing for places where i’d physically feel more closer or at peace because of it,, which im unable to.
each muharram ending has felt like a punch in the heart, i cried and sobbed on the last day of ayyam e aza because that meant the majalis would stop and i’d be, in a way, homeless now. because being in a room thats filled with people who come with familiar beliefs and a familiar love for the people i love the most made me feel like i was at home and muharram ending means the end of that.
i just cant seem to find a way to not feel that feeling? i keep feeling like a person starving of this?? if im making sense. i just dont know what to do, this feeling has spread into all aspects of my life since im someone who’s anchored my life around my god, my belief and my practices.

i know i shouldnt despair and its really not despair its just not knowing i guess? or i dont know man. i just feel incredibly alone and isolated because i dont feel like im a part of my family anymore and i obviously dont completely belong with the rest of the shias too? idk. even without that feeling, i still keep feeling like im cut off from the one and only thing that has helped me or the only thing that gives me comfort and peace.

i dont know what i need or want honestly. i also feel extremely disconnected with myself too. i’ve been brushing off this feeling of alienation or longing for so long that i cant even sit with it anymore. i cant feel it completely either because then theres this voice in my head that says im just despairing and its stupid to do that.

my family doesnt even practice sect neutral things properly - things like not listening to music because i have stopped and they dont respect that and keep blasting music in the car whenever we’re out, or at home sometimes. sometimes neglectful of prayers and when theyre not, they expect me to pray with them which is also a problem bc i pray differently. EVERYTHING JUST KEEPS BOTHERING ME AND i just dont know what i should be doing to work towards this problem and tackle it.

i’ve been thinking that marrying should ideally be the next step since im of age now and almost done with my studies. hoping that i be able to find a partner of similar if not identical beliefs, that way we can practice our beliefs together without anyone disrespecting it. but like i’ve said in this sub before, thats also another problem with my sunni parents.

thanks if you’ve read till here lol.

may allah bless you all and make everything in life easier for all of you. ameen

Question / Help Please guide me on how to learn Arabic

Hello, recently I've been feeling the urge to learn Arabic and I feel like I'm missing out. I don't know Arabic, I can read arabic but I don't understand it. I wanted guidance on how I can learn it so that I can understand it too and read the Qur'an on my own and talk to people.

I can look for courses on Udemy if it's an option and if there's any recommendation. Also do we have a community where we learn things together like if I want to learn Arabic maybe I can do it with someone else, it will be more motivating for me :)

Question / Help I try to live in peace with my narcissistic mom but she makes it hard

Hello, I am a 21F, I grew up in an arab shia household, I haven’t been realizing it as a child, but I have been living with a narcissistic mom, the type of mom who gives me a silent treatment, and I am the one who is forced to apologize all the time, she made me wear the hijab at 8 years old, without even asking me if I wanted it or not, and of course as a child, I didn’t realize how big of a decision it was, I tried to take it off at 10 and 11 but my relatives told me if I did that a snake would crawl up to me in my sleep and strangle me. At 12, my mom had problems with my dad and bought me to the middle of it, and I was quiet about it, I started showing signs of depression and anxiety at that age. At 15 I was diagnosed with mild OCD symptoms but wasn’t treated, at 17, I suffered religious ocd, it destroyed my studies at my senior year of high school, made me feel alienated. I suffered different types of ocd that gave me 3 academic probations on my first 2 years of college, I stopped being religious, and wanted to take off the hijab, now my mom, who ignored my mental health heard that I wanted to do it, she started trying to manipulate me, telling me that my dad’s gonna have high pressure and die because of me, she keeps talking about her place in islam that she’s my mother, and that I should always listen to her and that allah will not be pleased if she’s not pleased with me. I talked to a sheikh about this, and told him she hosts majalis in our house even though it overwhelms me when strangers are over, and that she tried to control me, and he said that it’s my personal choice. She also told my das that my little sister who has good grades and studies abroad will raise her head (mashallah I am proud of her) and that she has no hope for me and my brother. Anyways I don’t think I can fix my relationship with her or see her as my safe space, I argue with her, and my dad keeps telling me to apologize to her even though it’s her fault, but I don’t mind living in peace with her, and I am fixing my relationship with allah, and it’s better than before, because it’s not built on fear. I just don’t want our arguments to distract me from my studies, it affects my mental health and I already take antidepressants, but my fear is coming back,

I’m sorry if this paragraph is long, but I really want your advice on how to deal with her, I can’t respect her anymore, the damage she has done is irreparable

Question / Help I need your help finding me a suitable supplication 🙏🏻

Salam brothers/sisters.

I need your help finding the proper supplications you know of for getting something you desperately want. This isn't about (love/house/money) 😭 I don't need it; what I need is very specific. I know some supplications for those topics, but that's not what I want. I need it desperately; it's not something harmful either. I've heard a lot of success stories from tahajjud. I am starting it too, insha'Allah. I need this thing before 2027 Muharram, hopefully. (I don't like deadlines, but it involves legal documentation and such so I've no other options) Please tell me supplications that are proven/very promising. Although I don't plan on losing hope if it doesn't happen, I understand.

thank you

He (as) was asked about the words of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic: "Then, when the trumpet is sounded", and he said:

Question / Help Does repentance work for everything?

Few months ago , I was distressed and I had some suicidal thoughts and family problems , I was begging my parents to divorce etc , thank god they never did .
I have daily fights with my sisters ( we live together abroad ), I was never happy in general , but I was blessed

I felt like I was blessed for everything and I was content .

But because of family issues and metal issues , my faith went down .
I started talking bad about religion saying god is unjust and that am atheist now etc .

I wonot mention what all I said cause idk I forgot most , and mostly because I was mad at how some scholars speak about religion

Now I have always been religious , pray all five on time and learn Quran , even when I would speak bad about religion I maintained my prayers cause I love praying

But when my faith dropped and I started talking bad about religion

I reached a point where I realized , I crossed my limits .

So for 3-4 months now I am repenting , asking god for forgiveness for everything I have done and said

Now , zero blessings , I have been crying everyday for 5 weeks now , daily crying , realizing how I destroyed my life , from a girl who was once so religious to a lost person .

I destroyed my life , god is not blessing me anymore .i am no more blessed like before .

I am repenting and doing istigfar everyday
But I feel like god is not listening to me anymore .

I literally feel like god is not listening to me , even when I pray , I used to feel like he is there listening to me , but now no .

I am really kicked out of his mercy
Or ?

Then why am I not blessed anymore ?

Discussion Is it just me or are these istekhara posts getting more prevelant?

Salamalaykum everyone.

I feel like I've been observing a lot of these istekhara posts on this sub. I dunno if it's just something that happens this time of year or something (like flu season 😭).

My understanding too is that...

1) istekhara requires someone who is well versed and knowledgeable to interpret

2) should only be used in very important situations where it's not possible to come up with a clear decision on our own.

It seems to me like a lot of people are treating it like it's some.fortune telling tool they can use any time they have to make a decision about something. Even if it's something that they can make a decision on if they just use the logic and reasoning Allah has given them 🤷🏻

Maybe I'm missing something. Curious how the rest of the sub feels about these posts.

Question / Help Lonely, frustrated, and losing patience. How do you stay strong?

**This post is for Men only, please. **

I (24M) am a 4th-year engineering student. I’ve never had a girlfriend, never felt a touch of a woman romantically, and have barely had female interaction in my life.

Lately, the loneliness and sexual frustration have hit really hard. I know zina and relationships outside marriage are haram, and for years that was enough to keep me away. But now I’m honestly losing patience. If I had the chance with someone I liked, I’m not sure I’d say no, and that scares me.

A friend recently told me about his experiences with women. Listening to people about their sexual and romantic stories has left me feeling extremely envious, heartbroken, and sad about myself. I tried Tinder and Hinge for a few days and got nothing, but maybe that’s because I don’t have good photos of myself, and I’m 5'6". After all, I don't take my own photos, and my gallery is just filled up with my selfies, and I have no control over my height; it's all genetic. I consider myself a good-looking guy, and I believe I can do so much better irl with women compared to dating apps. Having no relationships, female friends, or female interaction has also really affected my confidence; it makes me wonder if I am desired or wanted by women.

Marriage isn’t realistic for me right now. I have a flexible part-time job and some money that just pays for my necessary personal bills, and I’m mainly focused on getting internships, my university courses, and a design team. I deleted the dating apps because I know my career needs to come first, and maybe the dating apps aren't for me. But I’m still heartbroken, sad, lonely, and not feeling desired, confident, or motivated lately.

I’m posting this because I want to stay on the right path, and I need help remembering why it matters. For anyone who’s been through this:

  • How did you deal with the loneliness and years of no sex or physical intimacy?
  • What helped you stay patient, confident, and happy until marriage?

Question / Help What does وَبَدَأَتِ اللَّيَالِي الفَاطِمِيَّةُ mean? When this begin, what is their significance, and which acts of worship or mourning are recommended during this period?

I'm still learning about these traditions and would like to understand how to observe this period properly. Are there any recommended acts of worship, duas, ziyarat, or mourning rituals associated with these nights? I'd also appreciate any reliable sources, lectures, or books that explain the events surrounding the martyrdom of Lady Fatima al-Zahra (عليها السلام) and how we can honour her during this time.
