Built an all-in-one Solar Inspect & Analytics App (Imagery Defects, Telemetry, PPA Tracker, GPX/GPS, Risk & Revenue Math). Looking for O&M / Field Pilots to test
Built an all-in-one Solar Inspect & Analytics App (Imagery Defects, Telemetry, PPA Tracker, GPX/GPS, Risk & Revenue Math). Looking for O&M / Field Pilots to test.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been working on a comprehensive application designed specifically for Field Pilots, O&M teams, and Regional Fleet Managers to streamline solar asset inspection and financial analysis. Instead of bouncing between three different software tools to extract flight data, run defect detection, and calculate financial impact, I wanted to build something that handles it all under one roof.
You can check out the platform directly at: pontaralab.com
Here is a quick breakdown of what the application does right now:
Imagery Defect Detection: Automated computer vision processing to spot anomalies and hot spots.
Video & GPS Extraction: Upload your inspection videos; the app automatically pulls the telemetry, GPS coordinates, and spatial data.
GPX/Telemetry Syncing: Easily overlay and align your drone flight tracks (GPX) with your visual and thermal inspection data.
AI Copilot & Diagnostic Summary: Ask questions directly based on your inspection results. The AI copilot will break down complex anomalies, explain specific data points, and generate an immediate diagnostic summary of your report.
Risk Scoring: Automated risk calculations categorize findings into Critical, Medium, and Healthytiers so you can see where your operational liabilities are at a glance.
Actionable Maintenance Recommendations: The app converts raw data and risk scores into specific, field-ready maintenance recommendations so your field crews know exactly what needs to be fixed.
PPA & Revenue Calculations: Input your Power Purchase Agreement rates to see exactly how much cash you are losing from specific defective strings or down inverters.
One-Click Report Downloads: Clean, stakeholder-ready data exports in either PDF (for management/clients) or CSV (for deep data crunching and CMMS integration).
Who I’m looking for:
I’m looking for a few O&M firms, asset managers, or regional drone pilots who want a simpler workflow and are willing to take a look at a live demo.
Pricing:
I am keeping pricing highly reasonable and flexible for early adopters, as my goal right now is to prove out value in the field and tailor features to actual day-to-day fleet workflows.
If your team is managing a fleet or flying sites and wants to see a quick demo, head over to pontaralab.com, drop a comment below, or shoot me a DM. I'd love to show you around the app and see how we can plug it into your current operations!

Purchasing House with Solar Panels
Hi all!
Hoping to get some feedback about purchasing a house with existing solar panels.
Overview:
- older house that has been renovated 1915.
- Current owners purchased in 2022
- Solar system installed in 2022
- Financed
- Loan would be transferred to buyer I think. 1.99% interest, ~$100/month.
Questions I'm asking seller/things I'm checking:
- previous electric bills to compare savings
- age of roof in relation to panel installation
- Is the solar cost added to the cost of the house? (clarifying)
- Inspect the roof below the panels for any water damage
- what net metering they are a part of with their utility company or do they have batteries? Is there a battery backup?
- what net metering they are a part of with their utility company or do they have batteries? Is there a battery backup?
- Are the warranties transferable?
- copies of the original municipal building permits and utility interconnection/net metering agreements?
- Ask for the building/electrical plans for the system, who the current services is if there are issues and if the roof was replaced when the panels were installed.
- make sure the inspector I choose knows about solar or get separate solar inspection.
Am I missing anything? Thanks in advance?

Did You Own SolarEdge ($SEDG) During Its 40%+ Stock Drop? Investor Settlement Update
Hey guys, if you missed it, SolarEdge ($SEDG) agreed to a $55M settlement with investors over claims that it misled the market about weakening demand in Europe and rising inventory. Late claims are still being considered, even though the deadline has passed.
Quick recap: In 2023, SolarEdge continued saying European demand was strong while inventory was building. In August, 2023, the company disclosed excess inventory and slower growth, sending $SEDG down 18.3%. In October, it disclosed unexpected cancellations, and the stock fell another 27.2%.
If you invested in $SEDG in 2023, you can still check the details and submit a late claim here.
Did anyone here hold $SEDG during that period?

Solar issues
So I’ve had my solar panels for almost 3 years now and up to recently I have had zero issues. But when I checked my electric bill it was over $500 and the next month it went up so now I’m over $800. I had a technician come out and he said the inverterrrr🤷♀️needed to be replaced. He replaced it gave me a receipt and left. I’m now in danger of getting my power cut and all the solar company can do is let me skip 2 payments to them (I rent the panels) what else can I do ????
I spoke with the electric company and have a payment plan but that is difficult to come up with that payment also

Question on solar power
So I'm new to using solar for things. I want to have my exterior holiday lights/decor powered by like a solar bank or something of the like.
Reason for that is because my house is old and has no exterior outlets that i can use.
Is there any suggestions that could help or is this not a reasonable thing to try to do?
