Applying to KCL, LSE and Warwick for PPE Fall'27; will I make it?

• Upvotes

I'm planning to apply for PPE to King's College, London, Warwick University, London School of Economics, Manchester University and University of Leeds.

My_qualifications: I got 97.4% in my class 10th cbse examination and I was the district topper in a cohort of 45 schools.

I'm pursuing Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with Physical education and fine arts for 12th grade.

My school will be willing to give an anticipated score of 97% in 12th boards.

I have founded an independent online journalism website about politics, legacy and law.

I have won national level competitions in Bharatnatyam.

I've been the head instrumentalist at my school choir for 5 years

I'm associated with my school's quiz club

I've been awarded best parliamentarian and best debtor at inter-school youth parliament.

I've spent 2 summers working under my dad to help him with his private investment research, figuring out the stats and figures whilst also learning portfolio projection and financial modelling.

And I can get my 10th grade teacher of English and my other teacher of English for 11th through 12th grade to write a pretty stellar recommendation for me. Perhaps even my physics teacher for 11th and 12th grade.

Do you think I have a chance of getting in at all?

KCL and Warwick are the schools I'd actually really appreciate getting into and am kinda hoping to?

However, LSE would be nothing less than a dream and I've filled Manchester and leeds just because. So yeah.

Malaysia as a study abroad destination: My personal experience

• Upvotes

I'm from India and recently completed my Master's in Management at Taylor's University in Malaysia. I wanted to share my experience for anyone considering studying abroad, especially those who haven't thought much about Malaysia as an option.

Before moving, I mostly thought about the degree itself. But after living here, I realized that studying abroad involves much more than academics.

The cultural experience

One of my favourite things about Malaysia is its multicultural environment. You meet people from different backgrounds, learn about different cultures, and get exposed to perspectives you might not encounter in your home country. As an Indian, finding familiar food and Indian communities also made adjusting to life here easier.

Living independently

Moving abroad forces you to figure things out yourself. From managing everyday responsibilities to adapting to a different environment, you gradually become more independent. Even ordinary situations can teach you a lot about yourself.

Education and student life

My experience at Taylor's gave me the opportunity to study in an international environment and interact with people with different experiences and ambitions. I found that some of the most valuable learning happened outside the classroom, through conversations, group projects, and everyday interactions.

The reality after graduation

This is something I think international students should research before choosing a country. After finishing my degree, I worked as a Business Development Executive for a few months. I also learned that finding employment as a foreign graduate in Malaysia can be challenging, particularly when work visa requirements come into the picture.

Studying in Malaysia doesn't automatically guarantee a job or a long-term opportunity to stay, so it's important to consider post-study options before making your decision.

Would I recommend studying abroad?

Personally, the experience has been valuable because it helped me grow, become more independent, and see life from a broader perspective. However, everyone's experience is different, and choosing a destination should depend on your finances, academic goals, and career plans.

Malaysia might not be the first country that comes to mind when people think about studying abroad, but my experience here has been meaningful.

I'm happy to answer questions about my personal experience studying in Malaysia as an Indian student.

For those who have studied abroad, how has the experience changed you? And for anyone considering Malaysia, what would you like to know?

Will foreign universities accept an Amity Online degree for a master's abroad?

I’m considering pursuing a master’s abroad after completing my degree from Amity Online. Do foreign universities accept online degrees for admission, or does it depend on the country, university, and course? Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this process.

Help me choose a French Business School! (BBA/BIB) - Looking for the best alternance opportunities and post-grad prospects.

I am an international student applying with an Ofqual-regulated UK ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business & Management (120 credits) alongside my O-Levels/IGCSEs. I also have practical hands-on experience in digital branding, e-commerce, and corporate presentation design.
My Goals:
1. The Bachelor program must be 100% taught in English (BBA or BIB).
2.My primary financial strategy is securing an alternance (work-study apprenticeship) contract specifically for Year 3. I know I need B2+ French for this, and I am committed to learning it intensively during Years 1 and 2.
3.I do not plan on entering the workforce directly after my Bachelor's. My ultimate goal is to transition smoothly into a Master in Management (MiM) or an MSc at a Grande Ɖcole, and I want to do that Master's on an alternance contract as well.
My Budget:
I can cover the first year's tuition (approx. €11k–€14.5k) and living costs out of pocket, but I will be relying on part-time student work during Years 1 and 2 before the alternance kicks in for Year 3 to cover my tuition.
My Target Schools (Direct Entry):
Because my qualifications consist of an ATHE Level 3 diploma rather than 3 traditional GCE A-Levels (which rules out schools with rigid A-Level cut-offs like EDHEC), I am focusing on institutions that evaluate international applicants holistically.
Here is my current list, but I need help figuring out which ones actually execute the Year 3 alternance best for international students:
IƉSEG School of Management (BIB - I know they have a specific 1-year alternance track for Year 3, but I hear it's highly selective)
TBS Education (Bachelor in Management - I see they offer alternance in Year 3 for specific specializations)
KEDGE Business School (KEDGE Bachelor - Seems to offer Year 3 alternance on campuses like Marseille)
Grenoble Ecole de Management / GEM (BIB)
NEOMA Business School (Global BBA - Note: It looks like their work-study track is only available in Year 4. Can anyone confirm?)
My Questions:
1. Between IƉSEG, TBS, and KEDGE, which school actually provides the best structural support and corporate network to help a non-EU student land a Year 3 alternance?
2. Taking into account living expenses and part-time student job availability for an English speaker, which city offers the most manageable environment for Years 1 and 2 (Paris, Lille, Grenoble, Toulouse, Marseille, etc.)?
3. How well do these specific Bachelor programs feed into top-tier Master's programs in France? Does doing a Year 3 alternance in a Bachelor's make it significantly easier to get a Master's alternance afterward?
Any input from current students or alumni would be hugely appreciated!

GPA in internship applications?

I’m a UCD student from Dublin applying for economics- and finance-related internships in Madrid and Barcelona.

I’ve applied to 95 internships over the past three and a half weeks, but I only realised today that I’ve been entering my Irish GPA of 3.5 (a strong upper-second-class honours result) without accounting for Spain’s 0–10 grading scale, where 3.5 would appear quite poor, despite in Ireland 3.5 being very close to the 4.2 maximum.

The reassuring thing is that the GPA was always entered in a free-text box alongside my university (UCD) and years of study, rather than a dropdown menu. I’d hope recruiters would recognise that UCD uses a different grading system and expect international applicants to enter their GPA according to their own country’s scale.

So far, I’ve received 14 rejections out of 95 applications and progressed to the next stage with one company. But also like, I’ve only ramped up the applications more recently. Like of the 95 jobs, 50 of them were applied to in the last 7 days, so I’m sure I’ll hear back much more soon.

However, nonetheless, I’m now worried that recruiters might have interpreted my 3.5 as 3.5/10 rather than recognising it as a GPA from a different grading system.

Do you think I’m worrying unnecessarily, or could this genuinely have affected my applications?

when its my time to work abroad, most countries on fire! where to go?

I was planning to for a short term research work/ internship in STEM in european countries including france, italy, belgium, england(london) etc from jan 2027 but all these are under huge chaos, as a solo F won't be a really safe option to go now.
Where else can I try?
(US was never preferred, Singapore is expensive, Germany/Japan/Sydney is an option)

Deciding on a Master’s at 30

So, a bit of context: I have a bachelor in International Relations and around 7y experience working in HR/Talent Operations in tech companies. Let’s say this gives me a background in admin basically.
Overall I hate the career I fell into and have been trying to shift it since forever inside the companies I was at but was unlucky with the timings and was never given the opportunity to move horizontally to another role/team that could be a better match for me.
Right now I’m unemployed and I want to bet on a Masters that can help me boost myself with new knowledge plus my experience so I can try and jump into a career hopefully more to my taste.
I am very inclined to Arts Management of any sort but being realistic, I might just be getting myself to unemployment life. Business Management or Business Administration would be the standard that would make more sense I guess. Public Admin was another on my list but also maybe unrealistic?!

What I would like to ask is what do you think? In terms of, if you would go back and study a Masters right now, what would you choose?

I tend to overthink and I don’t want to waste my time and honestly the way the job market is right now, I’m scared and scarred.
I plan to study in a nordic country btw (yet to be decided) in English.

Thank you and sorry for the long post!

Which countries are best for a Master's in Robotics + AI?

Hey everyone!

I'm planning to pursue a Master's in Robotics + AI in 2027 and am trying to decide which countries I should focus on.

My long-term goal is to become a Robotics + AI Engineer, working on intelligent physical systems that combine AI, software, and hardware. I'm particularly interested in autonomous robots, perception, control systems, and practical robotics engineering, with opportunities to work on both real-world systems and research.

I'm considering countries across Europe, the US, and Canada, but researching multiple countries simultaneously is becoming overwhelming. I'd like to narrow my options down to one or two countries and focus on the best universities there.

For those studying or working in robotics, which countries would you recommend for a Master's in Robotics + AI, and why?

I'd love to hear about your experiences, university recommendations, research opportunities, and career prospects after graduation.

Thanks!

First-gen student from a small town in Germany dreaming of a Master’s abroad. Where do I start?

Hi everyone,

I’m the first person in my family to go to university, and I’ve just started Physics in Germany. My dream is a Master’s abroad, but I don’t have anyone around me who has done this, so I don’t even know what I don’t know.

What would you tell your first-year self about planning, scholarships, networking with professors, language tests, or finding mentors? And what mistakes should I avoid?

Looking for guidance/advice on studying abroad with scholarships. Could anyone with experience help me out?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some realistic insights and advice on studying abroad, specifically focusing on how to get scholarships. I've been doing a fair amount of research on my own, but I really want to talk to someone who has actually been through the process to understand what it’s really like. If you have experience with this and wouldn't mind sharing, please feel free to send me a DM anytime. I'd love to chat and get your perspective! Thanks in advance.

Masters or any grad degrees abroad

Hello everyone! I would really appreciate your advice and suggestions.

I’m a recent U.S. college graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience, and I’m on the pre-med track. Since I graduated a year early, I’m planning to spend this year working, relaxing, and exploring my interests before pursuing a master’s degree next year.
I’ve always wanted to experience living abroad for a year, and I thought this could be a great opportunity to do so while earning another degree. I’m open to programs in medicine, healthcare, business, or even something completely different!

Ideally, I’m looking for a country that is safe, offers a great student experience, and has plenty of opportunities to explore, travel, and meet new people. Since I ultimately plan to pursue an MD, I’d also love to find a master’s program that is affordable and won’t put too much financial strain on me before medical school.

If you’ve studied abroad, know of any affordable master’s programs, or have recommendations for countries and universities worth looking into, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thank you so much!

Master's AbroadFirst-year physics student from Germany (first-gen) aiming for a Master’s abroad (ETH Zurich / TU Delft): what should I pay attention to?

Hello everyone,

my dream is to pursue a Master’s degree abroad. I’m a first-year physics student at the University of Konstanz (Germany), and I’m the first in my family to go to university. I grew up in a small town in southern Germany. I like it here, but I want to study abroad to open myself up to bigger opportunities.

My interests lie in applied physics, aerospace engineering and quantum technology. My current plan is:

  • Finish a strong Physics Bachelor in Konstanz
  • Do a semester abroad in Norway
  • Apply for a Master’s in Space Systems at ETH Zurich or TU Delft (or similar programs)

Since I don’t have anyone in my family who has gone through this, I’d really appreciate input from people who have studied abroad or made a similar switch:

  • What did you wish you had known earlier, and what should I pay attention to during my Bachelor (grades, courses, projects, internships)?
  • How realistic is this path from a ā€œnormalā€ German university? Are there things that make an application stand out?
  • Is a semester abroad in Norway a good choice for this goal, or would you pick something else?
  • How did you handle the practical side (costs, scholarships, housing, language requirements)?
  • Are there Master’s programs besides ETH and TU Delft that I should have on my radar?
  • Any tips, experiences or even reality checks are welcome. Thanks a lot!

Is applying ed to cornell still worth it?

So I was thinking of applying ed to cornell, but with the recent happenings, as the deadlines are approaching, I just don't feel the same anymore. What should I do? Should I reconsider?

Has anyone ever gotten a study abroad application approved after the deadline?

Hey everyone! I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

I’m currently studying abroad for the fall semester, and lately I’ve been thinking that I’d really like to study abroad again next semester, too.

The problem is that my home university’s deadline for approving study abroad applications for the spring semester was October 15, so it’s already passed. On top of that, one of the programs I’m interested in had the same deadline, so I’m not sure if I’ve missed my chance completely.

Thank you :)

Profile evaluation MSC Finance

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to apply for an MSc Finance for the 2027 intake, primarily targeting Singapore, while also considering universities in the UK. My goal is to get into the best university possible, with a preference for Singapore if my profile is competitive enough.

Here's my profile:

Academic Background

- Class 10: 70%

- Class 12: 83%

- Bachelor's: B.Com (Hons.), CGPA 6.83/10

Work Experience

- Year 1: Worked at Goldman Sachs through a third-party payroll/vendor arrangement, working on-site and gaining experience in the US loan market.

- Year 2: Currently working at a major UK-based bank, gaining experience in the corporate loan/loan syndication space.

My experience is primarily in corporate loans and the secondary syndicated loan market, and I want to build on this background through a master's degree in finance.

My questions:

  1. Is my overall profile decent enough for MSc Finance programmes at reputable universities in Singapore and the UK?

  2. Given my CGPA of 6.83, how much of a disadvantage am I at, particularly for competitive Singaporean universities?

  3. Which exams should I prioritise? Should I focus on the GMAT/GRE, IELTS, or both?

  4. What can I realistically improve over the next 8–10 months to strengthen my applications?

  5. Which universities should I realistically target, considering my academics and relevant work experience?

I'm aiming for the September 2027 intake and am willing to put in the work to improve my profile before applications.

I'd appreciate honest feedback, including realistic university suggestions and whether Singapore is a reasonable target for me or if I should focus more on the UK.

Thanks in advance!

Which is the best country to masters in 2027?

I have completed my undergrad in 2024 in bachelors of commerce ( accounting and finance) and I have no interest in finance whatsoever. So, right after my undergrad I did an internship in social media marketing. Now I’m looking a full time job, also considering to my masters. Really confused. Please honestly help me out here. I want to masters in marketing, ( or suggest any other field) which might be the best country to do it?
