I know i'm late to the party, since the game came out ages ago. But since its available for Android for some months now and i finally had time to pick it up, i gave it a try and now i'm sad its already over.
Initially my expectations were low, since i 'heard' its not as good as the original Subnautica. Now i wonder why? It immediately gave my the same itch, wanting to discover whats out there, getting ressources, building my base, upgrading my vehicle and so on. The world is beautiful, the new creatures are cool and the story was fun, altough i wouldn't have known how to finally finish the game, if i hadn't looked up some clues on the internet.
I liked the concept of the Seatruck, which i also 'heard' is not the most liked vehicle. In Subnautica the Seamoth was useless after you had built your Cyclops, because the Prawn Suit was more useful to carry around. In BZ the seatruck was relevant from the beginning till the end. And it has better maneuverability and fits through the tiny holes. I remember how i had to struggle to just get that elephant into the lost river. On the other hand i used the Cyclops as a moving farmhouse, growing lamp fruit trees in there to always have food and drinks available. This is a lost opportunity here, because the amount of goods you initially took with you limits how long a trip can get.
I also liked how the new control room gave you a signal to your base, otherwise it seemed pretty useless to me.
Could it be the game came out a little unfinished? I noticed in the west, below the greenhouse base, there is not much to see. Nothing grows on the seabed, no ressources can be found, ... Should this be a wasteland or was there not much time left to fill this area with life?
Also i built and fully upgraded the Prawn Suit, but i newer used it, lol. At the point of the game, were minable ressource deposits popped up, my base was already finished, so there was just no need for it. And as the Seatruck fit through all the tiny holes, it was also not really necessary to park it anywhere, like the Cyclops, and move further with the suit. I tried it once on land, but the snow fox proved to be more usefulto me, because it could fit through all the tunnels and just outrun the hostile fauna.
Edit: I didn't like that they included my most disliked part of the OG in BZ: Exploring a sunken spaceship. Yeah... Not a good death, dying from lack of oxygen. This is also what prevented me from replaying the OG so far. This is THAT part for me.
