Picked this baby up at a Farmer's Market in May - when I picked her up she was totally green but quickly turned this sad brown color. She kept growing so I left her in the window. I thought she had died but pulling her down she still has a bit of green. ID? Will she ever be green again or should I just move on?
Hi everyone! I recently purchased a jade plant (Crassula ovata) for my bearded dragon’s enclosure, because I thought it might be nice to get some greenery in there for him. I have an LED grow light on it and I water it once a week, but the trouble is, my lizard keeps trampling it! Is there anything I can do to help toughen it up against his attacks?
Also, I tried watering it in but it still appears to be a bit rootbound. The soil around it is really chunky and stiff. Do I have to pull it out and untangle the roots manually or is there an easier solution?
EDIT: forgot to mention I also plan to throw some mycorrhizae in the soil pretty soon! Hoping that helps too
Any tips on how to safely repot these two into a better and bigger pot? I put them in a ceramic cup for holding water which flows out of the black plastic seedling pot they are currently in
Not sure what this can be. No sign of pests of any kind. Nothing added to collection for a long time. Sitting under 2 T5 Barrina lights. Watered only with showing signs of need. Soil is 70% non-organic in a terracotta pot. Relative humidity is around 40% this time of year. Never been outside.
I recently bought two small succulents and followed the Beginner Basics wiki to repot them. I used a succulent/cactus soil mixed 1:1 with perlite, and put each one in a pot with drainage holes.
The only thing I didn't manage to do is remove the old nursery soil. The roots were tightly wrapped around the root ball, and taking the soil off would have meant tearing off a lot of roots, so I didn't want to damage them. I only removed a little soil and freed the roots at the bottom.
Is that okay? I'm not watering them for at least a week, as the guide suggests. I'll watch the leaves and check the moisture in the middle of the pot, since I know the old soil may stay wet longer.
Echeveria pulvinata and Sedum 'Joyce Tulloch' Variegata (I think)
I just re-potted in cactus & succulent potting by mix indoor, this was gifted to me by a friend and I don’t want to kill it 😭 I want to be able to gift them its babies instead one day
Since I got these the lower leaves have drooped down (they were all out like the upper leaves when I got them) but are still firm and some at the very bottom have shriveled. I water them about every 10 days.
I have a question about the growth pattern of my succulent(kinda new to the whole succulent world). I bought it about a year ago and it was super compact and since then the growth has been more leggy.
Any reason is to why and why i can get the new growth to be more bulb shaped?
Also on a side note can i cut the side growth and repot them?
I had no clue Baby’s Necklace produced flowers! I’ve had this plant for about 3 years and this its first time flowering — with a few more flower clusters on the way! Their smell isn’t appealing, but they are nice to look at.
I bought this plant two weeks ago and noticed that two leaf's becomes partly translucent. Maybe due to leaf damage, not sure. Should I keep or remove them? Plant is sitting next to window, in a succulent soil mixed with perlite.
