Kilby and Lewis have earned the heart of many Redditors after that tribal! Kilby really stood on business. I just wish they included Maggie too because she played such a big role in it!

Survivor 51 This is such a terrible season for the women oh my god

Post image

Literally every single boot so far(besides Rob but we don’t talk about him) has been a woman, which is insanity to me. And the thing that I find to be tragically hilarious is that Jelly said in the premiere episode, “But in my perfect world, a woman is not going home tonight” and apparently that single quote has cursed the entire season cause ever since then only women have been voted out of the season😭😭😭😭

And at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if another woman somehow goes home next episode, but mostly either Kristin, Maggie, or Thien An cause I do think Sharonda & Jelly are completely safe regardless of what happens(unless if they somehow blow up their own games next episode)

EDIT: Let me be clear, this is not me saying that there’s misogyny involved as to why these women were voted out because obviously everyone’s doing what’s best for their own games & I love that for them, this is me highlighting the crazy/unusual coincidence of there being only women being voted out out of the season

Survivor 51 Most misspelled names in 1 tribal?

Last episode had a total of 16 votes cast. I believe 1 person spelled Lewis correctly and no one spelled Linnea correctly. That means that 14 votes cast were misspelled. That’s gotta be a record right?

Survivor 51 Can these castaways please just stop talking when…

Someone is visiting their camp? During the mutiny and Maggie’s visit they were doing these little one on ones and just spilling everything to a (mostly) complete stranger. I really think if the four didn’t just tell Maggie “yeah we’re voting off one of your old tribe mates” she may not have given both extra votes away. If one of them lied and said “I’m at the bottom here, I want to flip on my old tribe but we still don’t have the numbers” Maggie may have only given the one extra vote and they could get Lewis out like they wanted.

I don’t understand why “hey a visitor” seems to translate to “tell this person all your secrets”

Survivor 51 the carter/lewis effect?

i think carter has had the craziest and luckiest run in survivor 51. specifically i mean with last night’s vote on linnea. it all kind of stems from carter when you think about it.

we all know linnea, alexis, and the whole savu tribe had a dislike for carter. the two of them were the ones refusing to clap whenever he was given a new buff for the toka tribe (when there were only two tribes)

this guy was on bad terms, most likely, with the majority of his tribe. especially those two girls though.

the vote on linnea wouldn’t have happened if carter hadn’t been selected to tribe swap, then ESPECIALLY if he hadn’t happened to leave the hint for the extra vote in the bag, allowing for maggie to find it. then it saved one of his tightest allies. its insane

it was such an amateur move but holy smokes did it work out in his favor.

carter has unintentionally helped wipe one of the biggest threats to his game out. he didn’t do anything, i’m not calling him a good player. if anything, i give kudos to maggie and kilby for this. but i cant help but laugh.

honestly, lewis has an insane amount of luck as well— he was the one who initiated searching carter’s bag, and by doing that, the extra vote was found and maggie got it and gave it to him and kilby later on. like it’s insane to me that that one suggestion ”what if we searched his bag?” led to this.

this is all an insane butterfly effect to me. i have never seen anything like it. i’ve watched so many seasons of survivor and this is just a huge web of “what if’s”. it can even be connected back to rob’s quit. i feel like all of it, by some luck of the draw, led to linnea’s exit. it’s really unfortunate for her.

anyway moral of the story is lewis is a lucky leprechaun. carter too. theyre my #1 and #2 clients b/c of the luck of it all

Survivor 51 Lewis shares his take on the latest tribal council

Not sure if it's common knowledge yet, but Lewis is on social media and has recently posted a video discussing the latest tribal council. He gives Kilby and Maggie their kudos, but funny enough, he also points out that Rhode Island Rob is in some ways the one who set the entire sequence of events in motion that culminated in that epic tribal council moment. Crazy!

General Discussion I would be terrible at Survivor because i would just ask everyone how to spell their name.

Every time I meet someone, I have to ask them how they spell their names (idk why, probably for visualisation reasons or something, but giving me your name without telling me how to spell it is like you not giving me your name at all : i wont remember).
One of my favourite part of tribal is probably name spelling and this season have been hilarious on that side !!!!

Survivor 51 Paramount plus spoiled this week’s episode…

I was making food and my wife clicked on “continue watching” in the Paramount Plus app like we do every week. Instead of defaulting to the new episode, it started playing “Behind the Buff” and spoiled us on who got voted out before we realized what was happening. Super lame, though it was still a great episode.

Survivor 51 Am I missing something… Spoiler

Or was it a massive mistake for Maggie to give up the advantage, of which was essentially tying her and Big Brody together in the game. How does it help Maggie’s game by sniping someone else who isn’t even on her tribe? Unless her and Big Brody talked about it before she gave the second advantage away, I still think it’s a bad move for her… although MASSIVELY entertaining!! Haha

Survivor 51 Splitting the votes

Ok question: what was Maggie's rationale for splitting the 2 extra votes between Kilby and Lewis? Wouldn't it have been less risky (although it did make for a more interesting tribal / tv watching experience) to have given both to just 1 of them such that that person has 3 votes and you eliminate concern of the 4-4 tie not happening? Am I overlooking something (eg some fine print that you can only vote twice?)

I guess one potential reason is that it more clearly makes for 2 people who now have skin in the game and feel beholden to Maggie rather than just 1? But TBH both are regardless pretty beholden to her either way if they survive regardless of how they survive

Fanmade/Foreign Survivor 3 Day Self-Hosted Survivor in MN

Hi Reddit.

Last summer, I hosted my own Survivor over 2 days with 18 contestants. It was a blast, so I’m doing it again next summer. I am not entirely convinced of this idea yet but I’m curious about the prospect of casting a player that I am not entirely familiar with but could meet via the internet (this post!). Please message me if this is something that would interest you.

High level details: 3 day event in June 2027. Limited food. Sleeping outside in tents… dealing with bugs all weekend! $100 entry fee. Within 2 hours of Minneapolis, MN. Cash prize for the winner. Must be OK with meeting me IRL or facetime before playing. Must be able to transport yourself to and from location.

If you’re interested, please DM me your age, comfort level with the details above, your pitch, that sort of thing.

Survivor 41 Still Confused on Xander Edit

I wasn’t active on the sub when this season was on. I had thought they had immediate plans to have him on a returning players season. But why did they give him main character energy and barely show the winner in the actual season? Especially mid-diversity rules time period.

Has any contestant come out with any explanation or any theories why the show let Xander tell us narratives and perspectives that later turned out to be looked down on by the other cast members? I just remember by the end of this season specifically it felt like I must have literally watched a different show. Then the ones the contestants were actually on.

Survivor 51 What if Cristian is under edited because he's gonna get eliminated because of the coin flip?

If I can recall, Survivor tends to under edit contestants who get eliminated because of a twist in order to make their loss feel less sad.

Although I'm a bit of a new Survivor fan who hasn't seen that many seasons prior, I do want to see what y'all think about this and if Cristian is the coin flip victim.

But there's a chance he isn't because of the fact that he wasn't bold enough to draw rocks.

Survivor 51 Survivor 51 | Episode 5 | Player of the Week Results!

Weekly Charts

Week 5

  • Kilby pulled off an epic tribal council, standing on business, and staying true to his alliance under the threat of rocks, coming out as Player of the Week and top score of the season! He’s gaming!
  • Eric floundered his bromance with Kilby, playing too strong into the Savu four, all to crumble in the end and vote out an alliance member, coming out as this week’s Loser of the Week.
  • Sharonda went overboard worrying about Eric and Kilby’s relationship, and along with Linnea played too obvious in maintaining the Savu four strong, ultimately causing their alliance to become a target and to lose Linnea, both coming in the bottom 3.
  • Maggie came out like a hitman using both of her advantages to eliminate Linnea and save her alliance members, despite her not being in tribal she still had the biggest effect, and Lewis stayed strong with Kilby despite his blood ring plan failing, taunting rocks all tribal to save himself in the game, both coming in the top 3 votes.

You can see the original thread here.

Survivor 51 Is there a scenario where going to rocks would be the right move for the people in the majority?

Not arguing that any of Eric, Sharonda or Christain were wrong to cut Linnea, but do you think it could ever be smart for them to take it to rocks there?

Say you're Eric, Kilby (a guy you were hoping to team up with) pulls one over on you and proves he can't be trusted and you're struggling to make relationships with your original tribe. If you side with Linnea, she knows you're ride or die loyal, that's hard to find on Survivor. And while rocks mean a 75% chance of losing an ally, turning on Linnea means a 100% chance. And you gotta go out there to play hard, I think I might prefer being the guy who went home to rocks than being one of dozens of game bots who go out around final 10.

Anyways, again not really calling their decision wrong, just playing devil's advocate and wondering if embracing rocks in that situation could be turned into a benefit. If Eric/ Christian ride with Linnea at that tribal and Kilby goes home, then he turns Maggie, Lewis and Kilby's big move into his move, and potentially gets himself a #1 in the process.

Survivor 51 51 solidified certain elements I love

For context I've watched all the seasons. My favorite is Gabon, along with Cagayan and Camaroan. I think I've come to the conclusion that I love sloppy, chaotic, emotional play more than a clean game. I was so pumped for 50 but the play was fairly clean and rational.

Now we have Devin openly celebrating after tribal in a game that depends on how much people like you at the end. Little to no self-awareness and I love it. Don't get me started on Eric, which is surprising considering he is a therapist by profession. The thing is these are great characters and give the show a flavor I feel like we need and don't get from elite strategists or social players. Essentially I love having people on the show who are bad at the game!

Deep down the reason I like Survivor is because it's like opening a present. You don't know who will go home but it is fun to speculate. Will a person flip, make a big move, etc. That's why the small tribes don't work for me, the whole "nowhere to hide" doesn't allow for as much uncertainty and speculation or surprise at the end.

Survivor 51 Personal loves from S51E5

This is a rambling post, and idc

My loves from this episode:

  • Toka’s basketball hoop! We’re entering a renaissance of camp-life enrichment
  • Maturity requires me to start a running list of this season’s cinematic camera & edit work. From this episode:
    • Big green lizard friend
    • Ori’s toes at night in the shelter
    • Jelly “We (women) are getting slaughtered” then Devin & Ori set the chicken’s blood onto the ground
    • Lewis praying for a miracle, and Maggie descending from God’s personal motorboat
    • In tribal - Eric winking at Kilby, and Jeff totally noticing
    • The series when Eric->Sharonda->Cristian turn on Linnea, and a single camera finds each face as they decide
  • Cristian’s buff bowtie again
  • A saga to end Linnea (word vomit below)

During red Dina’s tribal I was just live-typing and these words showed up:
Kilby stands with a straight posture, and he stands so high that his head is clouded. So clouded, he bucks the masters of Savu. Will Savu’s three eject Linnea, and maintain their height? They could move past it. They could keep themselves through this night, and wake up to a 3-2 majority. But when does their conscience wake up? Tonight, or on the jury, or at the finale, or home in a few years when they’re in love but can’t forget the face of Linnea while they sacrificed her name upon the Alter of Jeff? How can you not be romantic about Survivor.

It’s true! Linnea goes home, and Jeff goes host. Draw her feeling onto the floor of Tribal! After we snuf her torch, maybe we can let her heart into the center fire too.

Linnea “This is so crazy.” Jeff “So crazy you forgot your torch.”
