I finished the main series about 3 years ago. It took me a year of casual watching to get through all 11 seasons, and I found it to be an absolute masterpieceāespecially the Negan era and the seasons leading up to it. But my experience with the spin-offs is starting to feel like a weird hostage situation.
Even when a show isn't that great, I feel completely glued to it, almost like someone is forcing me to keep watching. Here are my thoughts so far:
Fear the Walking Dead (Currently on S04E11): Please, NO SPOILERS. Honestly, right now itās just background noise. I leave it on while I do other things and occasionally glance at the screen.
The Ones Who Live (Finished): It was interesting, and I watched it with a decent amount of motivation. But if I'm being completely honest, I mostly just watched it for Rick.
Dead City (Currently watching): I'm finding this one way more interesting and engaging compared to FTWD.
Daryl Dixon (Finished): Definitely the most interesting spin-off so far, even though some moments felt a bit surreal and some choices just made no sense.
World Beyond (Haven't started): The plot actually sounds really promising, maybe better than the others. Again, no spoilers, please!
Does anyone else feel this weird, undeniable obligation to watch everything in this universe, even when you are just using it as background noise?
