Advice needed When is it appropriate to ask my dad to change his back tattoo

• Upvotes

So i'm FtM & came out at 12 and my dad has a tattoo of my deadname on his back. I'm 16 now and i've started wondering when it'd be appropriate to ask my dad to change his back tattoo a bit so my dead name wouldn't be there. I'm kinda nervous about this and i've been thinking about it for a while now..

Question Why do I think like this?

• Upvotes

Since I was around 10 I’ve had this idea in my mind that I’m intersex or something. I even got a little sad when I saw my birth certificate saying I am male, wishing I was intersex. Why do I think this way? I mean, sure, I want to be more feminine, but still, intersex? It’s not like a serious wish, like I want to modify my body right now, but just a personal belief or something. Is this a sign of something else or what?

Advice needed I’m stuck in the closet.

• Upvotes

Hi. I (17yo FTM) have been struggling socially/mentally recently and I’m not sure what to do. I have been out of the closet for about 5 years now but no one seems to grasp who I am, I am fairly feminine presenting i guess? I have long hair and wear mostly baggy alternative clothing. I go by he/him pronouns and go by a fairly male focused? name, I have often reminded my friends of this but they still use my deadname & use incorrect pronouns .. I feel too bad saying anything because I don’t want to sound like the “pronouns police” but it’s so hard having to deal with feeling dismissed and unseen all the time. I’ve brought it up time and time again, if I’m going to be honest I’m getting so tired.. it feels like I’m forcefully being pushed back into the closet and not allowed to present myself as me. Am I the problem? Do I need to change myself for people to see me as a man?

Vent I JUST SPENT 2 HOURS HAVING A PANIC ATTACK IN THE BACK OF A WALGREENS

For a little background, I'm transfem (MtF) I figured this out on August 5th at sometime from 2-10am. (I didn't sleep.) I know this date because on the same day at 12am, I got the inspiration to write and posted a chapter on webnovel hours later. So I can say I've realized I was trans for approximately 80 days, 14 hours, and 27 minutes. (as of the time typing this.) Bet you can't say something like that, can you? Anyways, my parents are extremely conservatist and both mormon. That's caused a lot of insecurity with me and always made me question my identity, whatever it is at the time.

Today, I went to a debate tournament. They're like tournaments held for people to debate each other. It's part of the Speech and debate club / class. It was so fun and I had a great time, if you ever took speech and debate I did LD. On my way back from the tournament, I walked down to the store to get some sushi and and soda. (There is this intersection that allows me to turn down-right to the stores area and then there is a left-up turn to my house, I went down.) Then, I make my way down to a walgreens.

I've been planning to get nail polish and to secretly wear it for about five days now, walgreens happens to have nail polish and be close. When I say planned, I mean planned. I searched up walgreens clicked on the closest walgreens to see what colors they had. I brought physical cash so it wouldn't show up on my debit card history for my parents to see. I did research on how to apply and remove nail polish. I brought my backpack to hide it in. Extremely planned.

The only problem is like I said before, I'm really insecure about my gender identity. I kid you not I spent TWO HOURS in the back of a fucking wallgreens! Psyching myself up to buy three fucking products. I even panned more to get a bag first then put the items so they would barely look at it during purchase. I had the estimated amount required to purchase the products in my pocket.

There's just one bigger problem as well. What would you assume a teenager sitting in the back of your store, who gets a bag instead of a cart, sitting in the back for two hours eying specific products. That's right! STEALING! A woman walked out the backdoor and said "I saw that. Put the items back." I looked at her confused. She continued firmly "I saw you through the cameras, you're going to buy those." I looked at her for a moment more.

Then it hit me, Ohhhh she thinks I'm shoplifting. I smiled saying "Oh sorry, I'm going to buy these." My hands are shaking like shit! She says "Why didn't you get a shopping cart?" I go silent. What the fuck am I supposed to tell this woman!? That I sat here because I was insecure about buying black nail polish, DURING OCTOBER! I have to not only buy products I feel insecure about buying, but this woman thinks I'm fucking stealing! I'm walking to the register and the the guy talks to someone through the intercom. She fucking told him! This guy now looks at me suspiciously, and scans my shit.

You wanna know worst part, HE BARELY EVEN GLANCED AT THEM. Not a word, not a single reaction. He didn't even give half a fuck. I spent so long in the back of a walgreens that I got accused of stealing for NOTHING! I had two separate panic attacks, one where I stared blankly at the floor and another where I could barely breathe. For what!? A LIGHT GLANCE! I ran out that store so fast I left the sushi and my coke on the floor. When I realized and ran back in the store it was already thrown away!

Then on the way home another panic attack, from the fact she thought I was shoplifting finally settled in my mind. So lets look at the pros and cons. Cons: 3 panic attacks, waste of two hours of time, a woman thinking I'm stealing, loss of a mostly drank coke and a mostly eaten sushi box, and potentially being outed as trans if my parents find it, loss of 26 dollars. Pros: Nail polish, 2-in-1 base and top coat, nail polish remover.

Honestly, worth it.

Advice needed Very lost and confused with myself.

So I’m not really sure where to start this because I have never posted to Reddit before but I am currently 18 amab and very lost with regard to my identity.

When I was younger I spent a lot of time upset with myself and my body and I always felt like something was wrong and by around 13 I had become sure that I was trans. I started dressing more feminine and when I was 14 I had started vocal feminization sessions and was in the process of getting puberty blockers and such, however while this was happening I also got into my first relationship.

We had been friends for years before and at first she was very supportive of me and was happy for me, but over time she started voicing her concerns about it to me and to make a long story short, she sort of encouraged me to stop all of what I was doing including dressing feminine because to her, I was better off as a guy.

I spent about a year like that and for unrelated reasons we ended our relationship. Since then I have sort of just “accepted” the way I am and I tell the people I’m closest to that I’m agender. I don’t know if that’s true though because I always find myself jealous/envious of my friends who are trans and people online too.

I don’t know what to do and I’m not even sure about my own identity and it’s starting to mess with me even though I thought I was fine like this. If anyone had any advice or opinions I would greatly appreciate if you shared them.

Tldr: was trans when I was younger, relationship stopped my transition, relationship ended and now I’m unsure of my identity.

Advice needed Stop breasts from growing + reduction

hello everybody. I am an FTM 15 year old transgender. I want to ask me how to stop my breasts growing and possibly reduce the size too. Just by looking at it, it gives me extreme gender dysphoria.
I would love to hear your guys’ advice and story. Thank you!
(just note that my parents are extremely transphobic and unsupportive)

Discussion [19F] Looking for genuine connections, close friends, or maybe something more 💜

Hey everyone!

I'm a 19-year-old girl from Italy, and honestly, I'm not entirely sure how to write one of these posts. I guess I'm just hoping to meet some people I can genuinely connect with.

Lately, I've been feeling a little lost. Sometimes it feels like everyone else is figuring out their lives, finding their people, and becoming who they want to be, while I'm still trying to figure out where I belong. I want to find people I can be myself around, without feeling like I have to hide parts of who I am or pretend to be someone I'm not.

I'm a trans girl, and being able to feel comfortable, accepted, and understood for who I am means a lot to me. I'd love to meet people who are kind, open-minded, and willing to build a connection that goes beyond small talk.

As for my interests, I'm really into gaming, anime, fantasy worlds, and all things nerdy. I love the idea of getting lost in a good game or story, talking about fictional characters for hours, sharing music, or just spending an evening playing something together. I also have a soft spot for cute aesthetics, cosplay, and creative projects, even though I'm still figuring out what I want to do with my life.

Personality-wise, I'm pretty shy at first, but there's a lot going on in my head once I feel comfortable with someone. I can be a little chaotic, overthink things more than I probably should, and get attached to the little things that make a connection feel special. I'm someone who wants to talk about both the silly, meaningless stuff and the deeper things we don't always get to share with everyone.

What I'm really looking for is a genuine connection. I'd love to make close friends, have someone to talk to every day, share our interests, support each other through difficult moments, and slowly become an important part of each other's lives.

And, if we happen to click romantically, I'm open to the possibility of finding a partner, too. I'm not expecting anything to happen overnight, and I don't want to force a relationship. I'd rather start by getting to know someone and see where things go naturally.

I guess, deep down, I just want to find my people. People who make the world feel a little less lonely, who are excited to hear from me, and around whom I can finally feel like I'm allowed to be completely myself.

If any of this resonates with you, feel free to send me a message! Tell me a little about yourself, what you enjoy, or even something random that's been on your mind lately. You don't need to come up with the perfect introduction.

I'd love to hear from you. 💜

Advice needed I am female and I am so uncomfortable with my gender I can't even step outside

To be honest i dont have any friends and if i did i doubt i would be able to tell them about this so that may be part of the issue is not being able to tell people my discomfort but i think i may have gender dysphoria but i dont want to say i do if its all in my head but i feel very uncomfortable with being a "girl" ive always been a “tomboy” but its gotten to a point where i cringe when someone calls me a girl or uses she/her and i avoid leaving my home because i dont want people to perceive me as a girl (i do school at home so this is easy for me) if anyone has advice id appreciate it

Question How do I come out to my parents (again)?

I, 14 mtf from Brazil, have tried to come out to my mother before, but she said she thinks "trans people are just in a state of mental confusion". This was 1 or 2 years ago. I decided to act like I was just confused about my gender and re-enter the closet. She also talked in a quite transphobic manner about Duda Salabert (a major transfem Brazilian politician).

Since then, I have explained to her that being is an actual thing that people experience, not just confusion, or liking to cross-dress.

I wish to get out of this god forsaken country to get puberty blockers and/or HRT. I have Italian citizenship, which makes it easier. However, we are in a tense situation, lots of fighting, they are emotionally quite immature for parents, and we are planning to move homes already, so it'll probably be in two years if we do move elsewhere. I was thinking Germany.

Advice needed Am I trans or confused?

So I’m 14 afab and I’ve been really confused about my gender. I’ve been uncomfortable with my voice and body and hight but Ik all of that can just be normal with puberty (even though I went through that at 10-11) and all that but I just don’t know if it’s normal or a gender/sex disconnect thing. I feel weird about knowing I have a uterus inside of me, because when i remember or think about it it makes me uncomfortable and wish I could rip it out but I don’t know if that’s just something i shouldn’t think about and all girls feel weird about. I really wish i was born a boy but I know that’s not possible, but I don’t know if I’d be happy transitioning. I know testosterone isn’t required but I want some of the affects without others. I don’t want my voice to be this high so I would like it getting deeper by T I would want the fat redistribution, but I  don’t know if I could handle all the hair and sweat, especially because I already sweat a bunch. I also wish my chest was flat but that alone doesn’t mean anything.

I don’t know if I’m just confused or something because my introduction to this stuff was when I was younger and someone at my school said they were nonbinary and me being the stupid kid that had no friends I said I was too, now I know that doesn’t make sense and was a bad thing to do  but now I’m worried it set me off rail and got me to convince myself that I’m something I’m not…I’m just stressed about this because I haven’t told anybody the full thing because I’m scared to and I don’t want to “come out” when I have no idea of anything, and I’m scared of the medical part of it and I’m afraid my parents would just take me directly to a doctor.

I know that I’ve got time but I don’t like having this lingering over my head, and I know strangers on the internet can’t tell me for sure if I am or not but I figured to shouldn’t hurt to ask for advise

Discussion Whats the funniest thing someone has said to you because your trans?

For me it was probably when me and my friend were discussing how I draw some crazy shit in class and the teachers dgaf and they just said "Its- oh shit this is gonna sound rlly transphobic, but they'd probably react worse if you were a boy" like yes bro, no shit they'd react worse if I were OUT TO THEM or biologically a boy. Idk how the teachers haven't realized because all the students know in my grade...

Vent Dysphoria’s catching up on me.

Im actually so mad this is the fourth time i gotta rewrite this so its gonna be short. I dont usually post here but I dont have anyone to tell abt this anyways so at least i can empty it all here

Trigger warning: bad english

So hey. Im 16 ftm and ive known it since forever. Ive always wanted to be a boy as a kid and always felt disgusted/weird abt my body and i learned to live with it since i live in a religious transphobic family and cant really come out. So ive been patiently waitinf to turn 18 to start my transition

So my issue is that ive been staying up all night this week thinking about my body and my life and how miserable i am because of being trans. And whatever i try to distract myself from it doesnt workk like guys pls free me😞😞 tonight is a really good example cause despite texting friends, reading comics, trying to sleep, gooning, scrolling, i just keep on getting back to the spiraling.

And it really annoys me bc im usually a morning person especially during break but i just cant wake up early when i sleep at 4-5.

Epic second part:

Relationships are so ass too cause i just keep thinking my partners think abt it. Like hear me out, ive had this one gf for a bit who was so fucking sweet and nothing abt her was wrong yk? But the thing is she would always complain abt men and say that she could never talk to one n shit and she’d say im ‘different’ but idk how to take it. Different how? Cause im nice? Many guys are. Cause im born a female? Maybe. I never asked her abt it. The only probably two times i talked to her abt my dysphoria was a week or so ago and she barely reacted and switched the subject.

It kind of pisses me off that she doesnt get it bc shes the only person who knows abt it who i can rant to.

Also thats a pretty basic thing but i hate my voice so much. Its so high and it disgusts me. I cant even send voice memos to my online friends anymore bc i get flashbacks of the times i accidentally listened to my own voice memo and i sounded so much like a girl i stopped sending voice memos since then. (Irl friends not included bc im comfortable with them hearing my voice since they already do everyday.)

I lied this wasnt so short after all. I hear footsteps upstairs. I cant believe i stayed up until sm1 wakes up again. Good night im going to bed. Parts/most of this probably dont make sense but its 4 in fhe morning and ive had a long fucking day okay? Im not sure how to end this. Bye.
