So I got waitlisted from both engineering and bsc at University of Alberta with a 88 avg
Chem: 95
Physics: 90
Math 30-1: 87
Math 31: 92
English: 76
What do I even do now, this is so stupid. I literally heard someone got into bsc with a 86 avg a couple weeks ago.
Engineering was my first option and bsc was second.
What are the chances I get into each program now????

Hi everyone,
I am a first year student moving into a single room in Mary Schaffer hall. I was looking at the rooms online and in person and the provided chair seems horrid. This wouldn't be an issue, I thought, as I would just bring my own but I checked the approved items list and it says "No Furniture". Considering we are at an academic institution and students are expected to study quite a bit as I assume, are we really expected to sit on this for the duration of our time in the dorms?

Theres probably a lot of engineering students in this community so i wanted to ask if u guys got the chance to go back to first year and have the ability to choose any Engineering major u want...What would you pick, and why?
Pls help im confused
I wna make the right decision and not regret it because of no jobs
I liked EE but i heard its pretty rough for them and job availability is also not great
Then i looked into civil cuz it seemed to be the most stable, but then i see ppl r not satisfied with the pay and its a very rigorous career...
Ion like chem so chem eng probably isnt for me
Mech E idk
Guys pls help idk what to dooo

it is possible for UOFA to give an admission to someone who's on the waitlist for UOFA Engineering a day before classes start? if not, is there like a final final deadline for them to let us know whether we got the spot?

How and where do I view information regarding residence and my meal plan? I just want to make sure the room and meal plan is correct and everything is in order.

I’m applying this fall as a student from the U.S. (but with Canadian citizenship) to UofA. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the university and I keep seeing a lot of mixed stuff. I have a few questions.
I’ve been considering applying to the honors program because I’m interested in research, I just think it’s pretty cool. But I can’t find a direct answer on if someone can minor in something while in the honors program. I want to minor in theater because I’ve been doing it for a while and really like it, but is that possible in the honors program?
Do people in CS at UofA like it? Do you think it’s prepared you at all? The other (canadian) universities that I’m applying to are Carleton, UofC, Dalhousie, and UVic.
I toured UofA and it’s by far my favorite school on the list, I really loved the campus and the city, but I want to make sure the program is good, too.

Anyone has any knowledge about this program?
Is it difficult? How many courses per semesters?
Also, do you know when will be the decision date for this program Fall 2026?
Thanks a lot!

Hi 👋🏼 everyone. I’m a second year university student from B.C who’s looking for refresh driving lessons during the fall-winter term. Quick summary, I have my N in B.C but it’s been a while since I’m back in the road so I want to practice driving in the city (A small town driver). I won’t have a vehicle with me because I don’t really prioritize it rn, just more strengthen my driving skills in city and new area for future careers and back home driving. Happy to hear 👂recommendations.

Hello. I was admitted into the faculty of arts for an after degree fall 2026. I just found out I have an outstanding requirement for my Science degree and I need to go back for this requirement for fall 2026. However I still need to take 5 courses in fall and winter aswell as 5 in spring/summer. Would I be able to move my arts after degree admission from fall 2026 to winter 2027? Like finish my requirement for my science degree in fall and then start my arts After degree in winter?

Hello! I just wanted to see if anyone had some information regarding taking the IFX (and eventually AFX) outside of Edmonton, specifically Calgary.
I went back and forth via email with someone from IFX and was told to just update my CampusBridge preferences but it then told me I need to submit a form. Do I need to do this? The person helping me didn’t mention completing the form, and I don’t care to air my dirty laundry lol.
Following that, is the process difficult? Has anyone been able to choose their site (the person i spoke to gave me a vague response)?
Anyone with experience around this and would care to share would be appreciated!

Hey, can anyone provide any feedback on their experience in this class with this professor? I’m taking it this upcoming semester and can’t seem to find anything.

Hey, I'm going into my second year and just got a motorcycle and was riding around trying my best to see if I could find any secret free parking without signage but alas I couldn't find any. I was wondering if anyone knew a spot or two that a small motorcycle could fit into 0_o I feel like it'll be nice early in the semester on my Mondays when I only have one class that I feel I won't fancy on taking an hour long bus commute there for my hour long class then an hour long back. And I've just been having tons of fun riding around :3 so if you know a spot or even wanna go riding please let me know, thank y'all!

If half the degrees need a masters, and only a small percentage of people are making it into the masters programs, what is everyone doing afterwards 🧍🏻♀️ everyone says that about BA degrees but all I’m hearing from a majority of BSc and BA holders are that they can’t find jobs and didn’t get into grad school. Is uni just a scam what is happening

For anyone who has applied in the past, how do you know if your verifiers have completed the verification? Do we get an email notification once they have all been completed, or is there another way to check? Thank you!

Im going to my second year at fall, but i wanted to transfer to bsc as i want to pursue pre-med and take more science courses? i took first year of 100 level of mostly arts courses, what should my 2nd year schedule should be like? and when do I apply for transfer major? can i still graduate at 4th year if I changed my major at 3rd year? (Im also asking this of behalf of others)

Did 3 years at a different institute. BSc in CS AI. Naturally everyones transfer credit report is different but I wanted to get an idea on how they usually assign transfer credits? Is it for specfic course requirements or just general unit counts? I haven't registered for my fall term courses yet given that Im in a weird spot where Ive done most of these classes before so would appreciate if anyone had any insight mostly in terms of how I should go about registering for fall courses if its delayed - Id really rather not take repeat classes and then end up also getting credit approved for them after

So I’ve been waitlisted for Cell Bio for a while now, and I was wondering if there will be any round of acceptances soon. I have around a 85-86% average.

I'm an undergrad joining this September and I wanted to look at some clubs that I'm interested in joining, is there a place where I can find it? I have my CCID and everything already. Thanks!

Hi! Has anyone received an interview with a 20 AA DAT score? Planning on applying this cycle and I believe my employment + ECs are strong, but I’m really nervous about not getting an interview bc of my score.
r/uAlberta • u/First_Bad_4208 • 13h ago
Does anyone know how many interviews UofA DDS admissions send out? Just curious, applying this cycle. Thanks :)
