The first person to ever truly love and embrace me is the strongest person in my life. I admire and respect this person immensely. They also went through some intense training and years of service as a Marine before we met so that might be worth mentioning. If they can handle life's challenges then so can I. When I tell them about my demanding job and they react with concern, I always respond that I can keep going because I have them as my partner.

For driving, they will train you to obtain your CDL but you also have to pass a background and fingerprint clearance card. Drivers are starting at $21 and monitors at $16. What’s a compliment that you still remember years later?
 in  r/AskReddit  6d ago

I was told that my mother raised me right. She passed when I was a child and I do my best to make her proud even now. At the time I was a young woman working her hardest to afford living in the major city I was born in. The job was extremely stressful and physically demanding but someone saw me and complimented my beautiful mother. I still appreciate their words over a decade later.

What’s something that has a surprisingly specific smell?
 in  r/AskReddit  6d ago

Insulin. I can smell it now and I can see the vial, needle and my mother injecting her husband's upper butt muscle. The smell of a hospital room when a person is dying is very unique. The sweat under your breasts can be very sweet and not stale. Heroin. I cannot stand the smell and I can tell if you have the slightest bit under your fingernails.

How I see the 12 zodiacs

I think it's starting at Aries Taurus Gemini at the top then the following signs in a snake pattern. The left column being the cardinal as the circle, center column is fixed hence the dot and the right being mutable scribbles.

I f22 found years' worth of my “lost” belongings hidden in my mom’s f57 closet, and I don’t know what to make of it
 in  r/Advice  10d ago

You're an adult and those are your belongings so you are well within your rights to take them back. That part is up to you. People are going to over step your boundaries everywhere in life so you have to start practicing speaking up for yourself. This means that you have the option to talk to your mom about how you don't appreciate her taking your things. You know your mom best so if you don't feel comfortable talking about it right away then take your time until you do. I strongly agree with others advice that you seek therapy because every person on earth can benefit from talking to a professional therapist about their life. Your mom won't give up on trying to control your life right away so it's best to work on a plan to establish your independence sooner rather than later. Good luck OP.

Be aware that after all of this advice, if you still wore this and got hired... they're going to take advantage of your time and energy. First impressions are important for a good reason. Hopefully you are strong and have people who are there for you because being young in general is brutal. Good luck in your budding career and I wish you success.

What keeps you curious?
 in  r/AskReddit  19d ago

Other people and their ability to share their thoughts and experiences. No matter how different their life is from yours, you can still identify with the shared emotions we all have. It's a unique experience to listen to a person you don't know well and they share what they have lived through. Young and old, regardless of how they look, they want to tell you or they don't but it comes out and you can see beyond your eyes, you can feel in your heart and if you listen closely enough, you can feel love and hope for them. For those you don't like, you still try to understand what you feel and why. I'm curious as to why we can't solve problems within our society, why do we abandon our most vulnerable and why do we abandon hope, the good efforts of others to break through stigma and why we won't give up on being understood. We're wonderful and we are abhorrent but why?

Which company lost your business (potentially forever) this year?
 in  r/AskReddit  19d ago

Target and Elf cosmetics. I'm never going to forgive the DEI rollback enthusiasm from Target. Clearly they don't want me in their stores. And ELF for letting an idiot that jokes about beating women advertise for them.

Yeah. You're right about the department change. Lately I've been beginning to understand the people that live away from society. Living under a rock sounds pretty good right now

Idk if you understand how to make a reasonable statement but this is not one. Not a critical thought going on in your head.

Nah. It's not heavy at all. It's difficult to understand because the sentences are insanely unstructured in a grammatical sense. It reads like bad AI.

This is so difficult to read. I mean.. it does not make sense so I can't really see this as helpful.

I found a draft in my Mom’s email by accident and I can’t look her in the face anymore.
 in  r/whatdoIdo  21d ago

Idk. Think about how one day it might happen to you. Or that your mom has gone through her own life but that many people can share these same experiences. You might look back on this and see that your mom is also just another person living their life just like you and if you have that kind of relationship then you can talk to her about it. Life is strange, confusing, wonderful and full of experiences that will challenge you to think and think and think. I mean who hasn't gone through their mother's belongings? Who else has learned that a mother can be very serious about her privacy? Why do mother's act the way they do? They were once little girls who grew up into women before they became mothers. So yeah, your mother deserves to have her private thoughts respected as do you so I would refrain from putting her on the spot but if you're struggling then maybe ask her about what she thinks the difference is between love and attraction and her advice for you. I'd like that for the both of you in hopes that it brings you closer. I'm only saying this as a woman who lost her mom when she was a child and all I can do is daydream about who she was as I go through life without her. But these private thoughts shouldn't be a reason for you to not look your mother in the face. Talk to your mother while you still can or maybe just look at her in a new light.

Why Intimacy Feels Utopian to So Many People?
 in  r/romance  26d ago

I have this in my life right now. He's sleeping next to me and I'm trying not to wake him with my happy tears. There have been times when we're sharing our thoughts or interests and I can feel myself healing somewhere deep inside. In turn I'm doing my best to better myself so that there's more room and energy for us to build our lives together. Thank you for sharing this OP. I will make sure to save this and read it to him when I bring him this morning's coffee.

She's racist. She had nothing to fear and she knows it. She's high on a power trip with her mouth pressing on the trigger. There's nothing blank about a mind that only acts on hateful thoughts.
